Kennedy Kalale Aiming High As a Coach

Share

Ex-Nkana and Zambia goalkeeper Kennedy Kalale has described his new coaching career as interesting.

Kalale nicknamed “Ichoni Mwibala” retired last June and he is currently an assistant coach at FAZ Division Two side Zacks United.

In an interview, the former Power Dynamos and Nchanga Rangers player told LT Sports in Kitwe that he was aiming high in his new career.

“I don’t want to end here at Zacks, my aim is to progress in this career. I want to reach the level of Patrick Phiri or George Lwandamina,” Kalale said.

He was among several upcoming coaches who recently attended a CAF C license coaching course in Lusaka.

“I joined Zacks last year and this year the management sponsored me to get the CAF C license,” Kalale stated.
Besides coaching, Kalale is a miner at Mopani Copper Mines in Kitwe.

“I want to thank God and Nkana after I retired they helped me to get a job.”

Kalale begun his career at Nkwiza in Kitwe before joining Nkana in 2000.

  1. That’s a good move Kamitondo Boy.When I remember my days as a youngster in Kitwe watching primary school football between Kamitondo and Kwacha primary schools at Mutende grounds used to be a thriller.Where Kamitondo primary had the likes of Sunday Kalale in goal,Kakoko terrorizing in front and Kwacha School team consisting of Mwape Miti,Kennedy Katala (Jahzino),I do not know nowadays if school football is impressive and competitive as it was some good 20 years ago.
