So this guy will be using Bemba in government ka ? Ba bemba aba bazavuta.
They are all funny characters.Bwalya sounds like paliba dobo.
He has a point.Even here in Norway despite the country being one of the biggest exporters of crude oil in the world fuel is more expensive than in Zambia
@Mo taim
The factors, mainly revenue collection by Govt, that affect the fuel prices in an individual country are many. You cannot compare like for like between a country with over 80% of the population out of formal employment to one that has less than 20%. That is why Govts play there part in setting fuel prices that will enable its economy to function and maintain affordable commodities for the general population.
@It’s a worry(tribal blogging is primitive blogging).I get your point bro.You are very right.I have sided with the government on this issue because i feel everything is all about priorities. The government is saying that last year alone K754 billion went toward fuel subsidy.I feel that this is a lot of money that could be channeled toward other worthy causes like the training of medical staff, sanitations and improvements at UTH.
Mo taim
That’s better and I think we should all recognise that a better economy that is non reliant on subsidies will only be better for Zambians. However, it is easier to see sense when on the outside and only when all factors are considered can we understand the full impact and whether or not subsidies are essential or not. Already transport fares have gone up, that means all food and commodities will be on the rise soon.
The problem with the PF is that the hike (be it removal of subsidies) is against their campaign promises and a u-turn on Sata’s first actions. Which some of us will criticise as luck of critical planning.
@It’s a worry(tribal blogging is primitive blogging)…Ok bro i bet we have to agree to disagree on this issue. An economist colleague of mine has convinced me otherwise that the move if properly implemented will actually be good for the economy.Anyway economists differ everyday.Kind of reminds me of the Obama and Romney campaign teams and their different economic models.I rest my case,
Mo taim, the monthly income for the workers in Norway is very high, thats why they are able to afford fuel despite it being expensive. In Zambia a person getting US$550 as a monthly salary is regarded among the most well paid,
Much appreciated..we need more of these. Kambwili is too defensive.
By comparing the price of fuel in Europe to ZAmbia, Kambwili does not understand the complexties of world economies. Can he tell us why basic food such as maize, sugar, bread is still expensive here than Europe despite being subsidized?
Fr Bwalya has a point and PF and its political failures lika Kambwili must just wake up and deliver instaed of insulting innocent and patriotic citizens like Fr Bwalya.
Fr Bawlya like any other citizen has the right to aspire for the highest office in the land
with such rantings and threats, PF are just digging their own political grave
Kambwiri has stripped himself off. PF has entered a dangerous phase of inside-out implosion. In absence of intelligent political machinists but hopeless material vultures constituting PF, watch this space the political barometer.

With regards to the GRZ subsidy on fuel products..thats a good move by the government. The issue now is allocation of the funds that will be saved. We ll need to see programmes on the ground, we ll watch to see whether the civil service does in fact receive the said upgraded pay package. Further, removal of the subsidy is far from the issue with regards to low fuel prices…the issue is the pipeline at Ndola, the arrangement of fuel delivery in Zambia for crude, is an old one from 1960’s established on the premise of avoiding an unfriendly Rhodesia, therefore we need to allow the private sector more involvement in delivery of crude oil.. This will bring about more competitive pump prices.
Ha ha ha.Chishimba kambwili was right. He sounded a bit rude but he was spot on.Father Bwalya just want to satisfy his personal interests.Awe chachine aba patili ngaleka balafulungana.I have seen it before kuli ba yama bamunandi bena chabatwala ku bwalwa nobulalelale.
Uncle of your friend was fired from priesthood because of drinking and ubuchende. But Pres Fr. Bwalya, is on leave for too much energy that he can preach every single day. Even preaching to Kambwili.
Ba Kambwili made mistake by ukulinganya ama P with a Priest. Read how Kambwili has been belittled today, he was a hero in PF today he turns into a thug again.
Well lets wait and see.It is a matter of time.
Lastly, Kambwili must desist from comparing E.U and UK FUEL prices, this market is completely different from ours. Here they source their fuel on the back of conquering Iraq and more recently Libya through armed force and brutality, and therefore gaining control of fuel market. Its absolute folly for us to be making comparisons with them in any aspect. I would advise the Honourable to be rather comparing fuel prices in the region with say Malawi, Tanzania, SA… This way we begin to get a more realistic outlook of our situation with regards to energy prices. HOTEP AND PEACE
He has a point.Even here in Norway despite the country being one of the biggest exporters of crude oil in the world fuel is more expensive than in Zambia.
@Chibamba, you are very right. Why did Kambwili choose to compare E.U and UK market with Zambia leaving Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa whose challenges may be closer to ours. It is deliberate, to confuse their “useful *****s” once more. Here, we are just paying for the blotted government with more that 80 ministers, the biggest cabinet in Africa.
@True love their ‘useful ****’ shall continue to exist in our land, and carry on encouraging politics of ineptitude and slogan singing.. Rather we must call for discussion of issues in our politics among our youth and older people. This blog is a brilliant first step, its refreshing to have a good mix of thoughts. But, importantly I would like to see Zambia start investing massively in education more than many other sectors. We need enlightened fellow citizens, so there we disallow opportunity for charlatans to come and rule over our Rich and worthy motherland. Overall, I would like to see Education centered on an AFRICAN PERSPECTIVE, LESS ON A EUROCENTRIC OUTLOOK. We must start seriously teaching our children and brothers n sisters how to solve our problems.
I guess u r very right. The ministet needs to establish he’s poinyts based on facts n also try by all means to compare zambias economy in the sadc regions. Its like saying, if my child can go to zcas why can’t a poor zambian take there’s also. Ba minister take time to analyse issues before you bring them out.
Very childish!
I guess “Hon” Kambwili did not hear Mr. Sakeni’s advice for **PF Youth** to stop threatening Fr. Bwalya!

Kambwili is dull, he was the nerve to compare their crazy fuel hike to fuel prices in the UK. Kambwili said fuel in the UK is 1 pound 50. Yes, very true it’s 1 pound 50 per gallon and a gallon is 4.4Ltrs which makes fuel in the UK 4 times cheaper than our fuel.
He is actually right. the price of fuel in the UK hoovers between £1.30 – £1.50. However, a larger percentage of the price is actually tax. I believe fuel in the UK is one of the most highly taxed in the world. It is about 72.8%.
Kind regards,
Emmanuel
Kambwili has a point.Even here in Norway despite the country being one of the biggest exporters of crude oil in the world fuel is more expensive than in Zambia.
@mo taim..
kambwili got the point wrong… in UK fuel is 1.50 pounds per gallon… and a gallon is equal to 4.4litres.. in zambia you charge per litre..you can not compare the two
@Ndobo…i`m not talking about the Uk.I`m talking about Norway the oil country itself. Here it is very much more expensive than in Zambia than Zambia a land locked country and importer of crude oil.
UK prices are quoted per litre. UK uses litres not gallons as in USA. So Kambwili is right. See www (dot) theaa (dot) com (slash) motoring_advice (slash) fuel
Point of correction! Fuel in the UK is between £1.30 and £1.50 per litre and not a gallon.
Koma mu Zambian politics muli ma silu zoona!
I can only imagine that while deliberating on fuel subsidies, cabinet was comparing fuel price in the UK, Europe etc with Zambia. And blinding concluding that we should be selling it at the same price but forgetting that the UK fuel prices are high because Govt uses that as one of its revenue sources. more important is that people in the UK earn more and are better placed to afford the £1.35 per litre of unleaded fuel.
In the battle of politics, it is simply amazing how the battle guns have turned against Fr Bwalya. In the PF eyes, he was an upright man, sound enough to be Chair of Zesco board. Today, he is mad because he is ambitious. Where does ambition = madness? Let the man be ambitious. It is his right although I can’t support him simply for failing to see through the PF in 2011.
It may be true that few people own personal cars, but price hikes also affect the transporting of goods and services across the country, which in turns has the effect of making life harder for the people with the domino effect of prices going up, so for a cabinet minister to actually use this argument is quite, well, sad…

The effects are greater in this case as it is not about individuals who own cars but the transport system will be affected, so we shall see fares, commodities, school fees, just everything will go up in prices. I commend Father Bwalya for not interupting Mr Kambwili.I think that was real patience.I like you father Bwalya. We need people who stand for people.Mr Kambwili shame for talking like a street man and not a minister.Pls maintain your intergrity when talking publicly.
It’s a pity that both Kambwili and Fr Bwalya spoke in a vernacular language and I think it is wrong unless they meant to be understood by their tribesmen and women only.
We need a national leadership school for some politicians in this country!!!!!!!!!! As for PF, they need coercion otherwise they are on a self destruction path
Kambwili is not smart. He is comparing prices in different economies. Dude take Economics 101 class I understand University Of Matero(UNMA) is offering classes online
Kambwili confirmed what i thought about him (a mare Holigan) no proper point but just trying to embarass Fr. Time is dynamic zambians are not going to allow Mediocrity so Woke up as Fr said, you seem to be panicking. Yes Time is running, we need more pressure on PF so that they become rsponsible in their dealings with Zambians.
Dear Zambians where do you pick your politicians from? They don’t industry inspire confidence be they black or white.? Is their a viral disease that is infecting the brains of your politicians? I have never seen such a huge concentration of political buffoons in one single country! Zambia is simply the theatre of the absurd! How I wish we could export some of these !diots and the country some forex!
uku kupena bane
Ok guys lets just say that the PF has now realised that running a political party is different from running government. Its not too long ago that Mr. Sata was seen at some filling station with a fuel container in apparent solidarity with the common motorist over fuel shortages. Am yet to hear about the report of the Winter Kabimba Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate why fuel in Zambia was more expensive in comparison with other countries in the region. It seems people like Kambwili have already forgotten their campaign promises, no wonder they can even compare our situation with Europe.
If PF Ministers start behaving like Sakeni and Lungu in the recent past .Maybe I’ll go back to my party PF.Otherwise Kambwilli(ishilu) is very premature and lacks vision.I thought Kambwili would make a gud president alas the man has no substance. The only hope in PF is Lubinda and other unkown figures. Fuel prices has affected evrything.Transport has increased. From Lsk-Luapuala(kashikishi)=Kr200.From 150 to 200 is not a joke.Everything is expensive.Awe Ba Sata mwafilwa ukuteka icalo.Tatwakalelya donchi Kubeba.Kwena efyo ifintu fileya PF can’t win 2016 if not careful. When u start insulting the church,Ubunga and fuel prices then expect things to turn very fast against U.Please look 4 people 2 help U govern Zambia. We still love U Ba Sata.We still think U’re a man of Action. Why why…
I have no problem with the removal of subsidy but my problem is that the money will go towards holding silly bye elections rather than development
Its agony!!

ACTUALLY ON INFRASTRATURE MMD DID BETTER WITH SO MANY HOPSITALS,ROADS,RHCS AND HOPSITALS NOW PF COMMSSIONING.
USELESS PF,USELESS CHISHIMAB,USELESS SATA
