Zambia held by Namibia

Share

Zambia this evening extended their unbeaten record against Namibia.

The two teams played out to a scoreless draw in Windhoek in a friendly.

Zambia stretch their unbeaten run against Namibia to 10 games with five wins and as many draw.

Meanwhile, tonight’s draw comes just three weeks after the same Zambia home-based team beat Zimbabwe 2-0 on April 28 in their first friendly after the team was constituted.

  1. Ala MWANDI twalipwa! When is Govt firing The duo of Renard And Kalusha? Please don’t tell me about FIFA rules not allowing govts to intervene in soccer matters. Those rules should only apply to Soccer federations that are financially viable and independent, not this one FAZ which even raise money for player’s allowances.

    • Its not govt to fire Kalu because he holds an elective office , if aanything remember that he constituted the team that managed to lift afcon for the first time , he has also commercialised football in the country . Our local league is performing well ,ts just a matter of time before we start geting the desired results .

    • Your King Kalu was busy enjoying VIP treatment at the UEFA finals at Wembley stadium…he has no time for watching Chipolopolo friendlies. The man is saving himself for the top CAF and FIFA jobs.

    • @Jay Jay, why not. Even you can take your chance to get that promotion at your work place.

    • Its not kalu who is failing to score, it the players. Christopher Katongo used to score for Zambia but you demotivated him by saying all sorts of trash about him. Can you also blame Kalu for Mayuka’s failure in the EPL? You can help your country by being objective when pointing mistakes or problems.

    • doesn’t matter what you meant. Sorry sorry what for? Have ever heard Herve and his Chipolopolo saying sorry and correct there mistakes.

    • @Nostradamus, that’s to show that it’s ABNORMAL to realise you erred and not apologise or to intentionally do or say something wrong like your president

  2. How do you construct a team and you expect miracles in one day, lets be realistic, this is a team constructed only two weeks ago and we want them to be champions over-nite , if anything I expected them to lose to Namibia today. Namibia is an experienced side, just look at their record, they have been together for a long time in the Afcon and world cup qualifiers and they have not been doing too badly, then u make a team today and expect miracles, for once congratulations boys: 2 matches, 1 win and 1 draw, this is positive.

  3. Quite apart from the shared barren scoreline the report has not given us any other information. I would have loved to know who played, how they played and generally who was outstanding. The primary objective of this friendly was to identify local talent that can be fused into the senior team. That notwithstanding, the draw reeks of the same problem of the senior team – failing to score.
Iam hopeful that some players will prove themselves and remain consistent members of the senior team. Some players in the senior team need replacing especially in the middle field.

  4. Soccerway.com is indicating 1-0 in favor of Namibia and lusaka times has indicated 0-0
    which is the correct result?

  5. As far as I’m concerned we are on course. Kalusha isn’t doing badly either. Fans cried that new blood be identified, the man has being doing just that, the better part of this quarter and we are beating and drawing with teams much older in terms of constitution. In soccer there are no minions any more bosses. FIFA has been working in overdrive to develop soccer all round and National Governments are pumping millions of dollars in soccer development. That’s why countries like Ethiopia, Lesotho, ReUnion, Mauritius, Madagascar, Cape Verde, and Tanzania’s quality of play has shot up. Patience is a virtue bosses! Zambia is on course.

  6. Hire slowly and fire quickly. Mancini could not survive on past glory at Manchester City. See what I mean?

  7. Just to clear up some confusion:
Zambia’s Under side lost 1-0 to Namibia’s Under 20 and after that the Zambian and Namibian senior sides played to a goalless stalemate at Sam Nujoma stadium in Windhoek.
On the previous day, Zambia’s Under 20 side chalked up a 1-0 over the Namibian juniors.

    • @ Isack Point of correction
Under 20 game Namibia 0 vs Zambia 1. Dont mislead the people. hw is Zambia and Ur booed President?

  8. Namibia, there were two Under 20 matches played between Namibia and Zambia. The first one, on Friday night, Zambia won 1-0. On Saturday night, just before the senior national team encounter, the two junior sides met again and Namibia won 1-0. I was merely clarifying that there were two matches played on Saturday night, one junior and one senior between the two nations.

  9. none of you is talking about ze couch. personally i think that the guy is not worth the $100, 000.00 we are paying him. ze guy is a chef and not a couch no strategy…
