Nkana returned to the top of the Faz Super Division table after a 1-0 away win over Nkwazi.
However, the win was secured in very unlikely circumstances.
Nkwazi defender Derrick Mwansa’s 70th minute own goal was enough for the 11-time champions to pick up the three points that came just four days after beating Zambia 2-1 in a training game in Kitwe.
Nkana reclaim their two-point lead on 26 points from 11 matches while Zesco United stay a very close second on 24 points.
The league now takes a two week break as the season makes way for 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Nkana will resume action on June 22 at home against Konkola Blades.

Nkana football club is the heart beat of Zambia football. In about 15 years woodlands stadium has never been that full as it was 2day when Kampala was munchende. We keep football in Zambia alive and now the league game is very interesting. Thanks to Kambwili who pioneered to ensure that our team receives the required sponsorship to reclaim its top sport in Zambian football. From the manner of reporting it is easy to tell that ba LT are anti-Nkana. I remember one season the second top scorer for Man United was on-goals, followed by Berbatov, and United went on to win the league, but no one said they won it in unlikely circumstances. Go kalampa goooooooooo!
