Nyambe: Beating Mine Police was not easy

Zesco United skipper Nyambe Mulenga has recounted that beating Konkola Mine Police 4-1 in Saturday’s Super League match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola was not easy.

The victory took Zesco to the summit of the table 24 hours before second placed Nkana, who are a point behind the Ndola side; take on Nkwazi away in Lusaka on Sunday.

Mulenga said Mine Police are good side and put up a spirited fight in the Week 11 match despite ending as losers.

“We are happy with is win. This was a nice match although it was not easy; Mine Police is a good team but we prepared adequately for them,” he said.

The Zambia defender said the victory was a motivation to his team.

“It‘s (win) a motivation for us because we have set a standard we have to play 15 games unbeaten,”

Resurgent Zesco have scored 14 goals in their last four matches.
