Lesotho coach warns Black Stars

Share

Coach Leslie Notsi has vowed that Lesotho will make it difficult for Ghana to win this weekend’s 2014 World Cup qualifier in Maseru.

Speaking after Saturday’s 4-0 loss to Zambia in Ndola, Notsi said Lesotho are now competing for pride as they are out of the race to Brazil 2014.

“The weekends match to us is all gona be about our pride, we have to play for our pride especially playing in front of our fans and in our own backyard,” he said.

“It is not easy for visiting teams to come out with maximum points in Lesotho so we are going to make it difficult for Ghana. Surely our pride is at stake, we need to come out with a positive result,” Notsi added.

Zambia leads Group D of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on 10 points, one better than second placed Ghana, Lesotho have two points and bottom placed Sudan are stuck on one point.

    • Ala bane mwamfunaula imbafu. Ati we are mathematical pipo. Nice one. Bakaamba tukabombafye bwino naifwebene palwesu. Tukachimfya.

  1. Mulefwaya ta mulefwaya ifwe ku brazil tuleya,
Mu wine ba ghana, mu drawe nangu mu luse we are not stoping tuleya ku brazil

  2. There is no way Lesotho can beat Ghana. As for Zambia don’t even hope that Lesotho will do you a favour. You messed up your chances.Kiss bye bye to Brazil 2014

    • Iwe what kind of soccer analyst are you and how can you say “there is no way” in football. Remember camerron vs argentina? Zambia vs Lesotho and even Zambia vs Ivory Coast? The ball is round and it can roll either way my friend.
For the record, Chipolopolo will not need lesotho to do us favours, with the pressure Ghana has from their home fan, we will either beat then or draw in Kumasi. Its because of the pressure that they cant even play in Accra. We have played then a number of times and despite what everyone says about how good they are, they have never beaten us since the abedi pele days. ANALYSE THIS.

    • Our fate is in our own hands ! We shall just beat Ghana in Ghana and that will be done and dusted ! The other games don’t matter !

    • Even i can give everyone 100 bucks. It just depends on which currency you talkin’ ’bout. Know ‘hat i’m sayin’?

      Solola Bye!

  3. Indeed I do not recall Ghana beating us since the Abedi Pele days. Statistics are in our favor. I think we beat them in Angola, Lebriveille and at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium so the pressure is on them.

  4. whoever thinks Zambia is out because we are going to Ghana for the last game is very mistaken. We will win there or draw whether Ghana likes it or not coz I know our boys play well with backs against the wall. Ask bafana bafana, when katongo almost kicked them out of Africa Cup qualification with Parera on the bench.

  5. Lesotso do the miracle man. I am with you all the way. Play as crocodiles in shallow waters. Eat the black star. All the best Lesotso.

Peace and prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  6. Coach please try and do everything possible to avoid defeat in your own backyard which can be a bit of an embarrassment. A draw against Ghana can just be as good.

  7. 3points from FIfa boardroom ; then favour from lesotho – hope that does not make us forget that BETTER to qualify on merit (hard work). That way would build CONFIDENCE when a team goes to play in Brazil or wherever God wills that we play at World Cup level first. All the best Chipolopolo against the wounded Sudan (loss of 3pts still hurts them i guess). Chris katongo , you have shamed me with your 5 star performance, keep it up .Go Zambia go

  8. The power of statistics. If team ABC draws with Bra bra, then we go to position two.In short, we survive by hoping to see some other team in the group in which we are beaten in order to create chances for us.Lesotho cannot beat Ghana wheather at home or in Brazil.Forget.

  9. This is the same ka coach who said they are in Zambia to win and today he is yapping something else. Sudan lost at home to 10 man Ghana and you think u can stand in their way?? No ways coach, as for Zambia, the game in Kumasi will be a decider and i dont see it ending without goals… Lets kip our fingures crossed for now coz Sudan is a hurdle too..

  10. We beat Ghana in a Seoul 1988 qualifier 2-0 at independence, drew 1-1 in Ghana–KK11 goes to the olympics. Afcon 1996 third place play off in South Africa we beat them 1-0 via a Joel bwalya scorcher. Afcon 2012 semi final we beat them via a Mayuka screamer. Brazil 2014 first in Ndola chris katongo’s shot did the job; so what are pipo saying about them being better than us. They have players dottde in big clubs allover Europe but they always fail to tick at the hour of decision.

  11. HISTORY DOES NOT FAVOUR ZAMBIA
In 1993 govt could not pay Danish Coach Raold Poulsen so FAZ parted with him. Govt then gave Chipolopolo Ian Porterfield. Zambia was leading their World Cup qualifying group and were favourites for a slot. Their next game was against Senegal then a pushover (like Lesotho). Zambia needed to beat Senegal twice to put Morocco out of the reckoning. In a game that they could have won by a cricket scoreline Zambia drew with Senegal in Dakar. Senegal lost the return 4-0 in Lusaka. Zambia, needing just a draw, then had a crucial last game against Morocco in Rabat. They lost that game 1-0 to Morocco and Diramba. Substitute Senegal for Lesotho and Ghana for Morocco in the above narration for a taste of things to come
culled from a passionate soccer crazy zambian

    • Erikuz from Ghana has just copied a blog by a Zambian some 6 months ago and reposted it here. He is crafty but Zambia will overcome Ghana because in head to head fights history favours Zambia against Ghana
