The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has urged opposition Members of Parliament to take government to task in Parliament as to why the issue of the removal of subsidies was not highlighted in the 2013 national budget presented to the house.
FODEP Executive Director, MacDonald Chipenzi noted that President Michael Sata did not as well raise the issue of the removal of subsidies when he addressed parliament during the official opening.
Mr Chipenzi said opposition Members of Parliament should therefore take it upon themselves as the elected representatives of the people why government announced the removal of subsidies outside the budget.
Mr. Chipenzi has further challenged the Home Affair Minister to explain to Parliament why a Member of Parliament should get permission to visit his/her constituency.
He added that Parliament should also look into government’s alleged interference in traditional affairs in the country.
Mr. Chipenzi pointed out that government has been interfering in the Bemba Traditional Affairs as well as the Banamayenga in Siavonga district.
He said it is not in order for government to continue interfering in traditional affairs.

This Chipenzi is a waste of space.

You have given no reason why?
I suspect you are an oxygen thief yourself.
People that gnaw on anything that comes their way are innocuously people that have no identity and should not exist
For instance, yourself. You oxygen thief.
I have an MBA, ACCA, CIMA Bsc, Msc and doing my PhD.

Mushota bit*h please ! Unlike you i don`t go about bragging when it comes to academic achievements. There are so many people here who are professionals in different field but they haven`t allowed that to go to their heads.Be down to earth.
Mushota ubupuba … learn to keep quiet when you can reason well. What sort of degrees do you have that have instead made you so dull. Imagine how that, even a simple certificate in plumbing can make you better at reasoning.
You are honestly speaking not teachable! Stop fulling yourself when you watch a movie about “wanna beeeez”. You are too full of nonsense that you can’t see reanson in others.
Please stop embarasing yourself and hence avoid killing the potential industry market for those doing MBA, ACCA, CIMA Bsc, Msc and doing and your so called PhD.
The issue about subsidy removal is a bitter pill we may just need to swallow for now; instead of wasting time on this issue, rather stick to its positive side, hold the current government responsible since the’ve insisted…
IGNORE HER!
Shes a troll, deliberately posting nonsense to annoy everyone.
If no one is replying to her she’ll get lost.

Mr chipenzi… why was the removal of subsibies not highlighted in the 2013 budget by the PF govt??? easy!! the move was an abrupt unplained move,,, thats why… mr Sata just woke up one day looking for more money to bribe and corrupt more MPs,, and then he decided.. that was it,,, subsidies removed!!!!
Talking heads have no depth
@nubian
Hi there
just wondering,,how are you coping? was worried that you might have hanged yourself after our encounter… donot worry i wont mention that word if you behieve… and keep those delicate `things` well
Good luck
The disorganised opposition at it AGAIN with their cringe inducing lame questioning instead of asking why subsidies were removed why not ask where the funds saved from the fiscal space will be channelled to exactly….ask for a break down.
would you for God’s sake not remind these imbeciles as to why they are parliamentarians; they were elected to represent the needs of the people on the principle that they know how to run and mange their constituencies. Do you think they can even throw a stone or cut the hand that feeds them? zambia has been thrown to the dogs and its now politics of the belly as earlier stated by the munkombwe maggot.
PF does not have the capacity to explain anything. This is a national issue affecting the greater part of our people, the president should have had the courage to face the people himself and explain his game plan and its effects. When you eat, you normally think that everyone has eaten!!!!!!
Mushota you are really mad, backward and illiterate!!Your thinking is wrapped, cantankerous and full of utter rubbish!! You behave like a namakwenkwe at a market!! Please stop this bragging about how educated you are.You realy sound like a lost hyna backing in the wirldernesss!!
People should start kicking such peoples bottoms for real. Zambia has had those subsidies for a long time, and have not been sustainably beneficial to any one serve those who do business, millers and motor vehicle owners. Why should tax money be used to pay for maize going to drc and zimbabwe? let the money be used to build schools, roads, hospitals etc. to develop the country. The country will never go foward if all we want is eat, and only to borrow to eat again. that cycle must be broken. Those who want subsidies let them farm, they will get farm subsidized inputs. those who want more subsidies let them send their children to free school for free to some levels at most institutions. What have people benefited from the same subsidies that have been there since independence. hunger still
IS THIS THE CHIPENZI WHO HAS BEEN TRYING VERY HARD TO ORGANISE THE SO CALLED “BLACK FRIDAY ” DEMONSTRATIONS BUT HAS LAMENTABLY FAILED?
People, notice Mushota’s MO.
1.She throws a flame at the beginning and then disappears. She never refutes or replies to the comments that people write her.
2. Shes here everyday, almost every topic
Be careful guys, something is fishy here. Stay safe and don’t click on any of her posts.
Mr. Chipezeni has nothing vita to talk about. He should be talking about ideas how to end poverty affecting many Zambians and how to develop the country. Just talking about pleasing people with subsidies at the expense of making Zambia more poorer & poorer.
Mushota learnig has no direct correlalation to political analysis.Austerity decision hcn nevr b taken tht easy.Shud our forevr remain subsidisng prodts tht govt has insteady subsitiituted?Imagine of smugled meal meal & fuel fr investrs?Tht aside why continue with subsidies at the expense of othr sectrs such as infrastructure? This includes hospitals, houses fr civil servants, roads, schools etc
Some of these unprincipled chaps must just be ignored.Chipenzi u are doing that for UPND. U are partisan hence whatever comes from your mounth over govt stinks.
I thought when we started FODEP was meant to monitor elections and any matter concerning the same in 1996 somewhere that period. it had nothing to do with how the govt of the day runs its affairs. Yes, subsidies have been removed and now it is TASK OF MPS TO ASK HOW THE MONEY RAISED WILL BE SPENT. THE OTHER ISSUE HOW MUCH HAS BEEN SPENT ON BY ELECTIONS?
Instead of critisizing Mr. Chipenzi, ask yourselves what a budget means. Ignoring a budget shows that something is wrong somewhere.
you are right. most of these bloggers are clueless as to what a budget entails. pity to converse with such a crowd.
It was an after thought!!!! Typical Poor Finishing Style.
