Chief government spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni has refuted as lies media reports suggesting that the Patriotic Front (PF) government is running a parallel intelligence structure in the Office of the President Special Division headed by former intelligence chief Xavier Chungu.
Mr. Sakeni, who is also Information and Broadcasting Minister, says such media reports are only being spread by people who are enemies of the PF government.
Mr. Sakeni has affirmed that it is not possible for the PF government to run such institutions of such nature as the intelligence service outside government wings as the media reports are suggesting.
He has explained that there are capable and qualified men and women in the country’s security agencies to handle all matters pertaining to the intelligence of the country and that there can not be a need that would require President Michael Sata to create a parallel intelligence structure in his office.
The Chief government spokesperson was speaking in an interview with Qfm.

We must remember some media outlets are sponsored by people who have an ax to grind with the govt. They have vowed to make the country ungovernable and they hate PF with venomous passion.
I also don’t understand how suddenly RB has become a saint. How could people forget so quickly the rampant corruption that went on with his kids running things while he spent time flying around?

I am happy that they have been blocked in Zambia because they beginning to create tribal divisions for no reason. The watchdog also systematically blocks any anti watchdog sentiments. I would also have thought that the govt should focus on talking about development. I personally cannot see how the PF will dislodged if all their projects are completed before 2016.

Just say you are a PF cadre who has benefited in one way or another full stop. The watchdog provide balanced news than Lusaka Times. For your information, it is a popular site visited by more than two million people on daily basis. Your Post, Daily, Times, and Muvi TV have all lost direction. The Watchdog is the only online paper at the moment that is providing checks and balances to the PF government. Ignore it at your own peril.

I see no problem of having a parallel security structure for the purpose of safeguarding the interest of the Nation. World wide countries are expanding their securities, cos the world is no longer safe. MR Chungu is a well trained Zambian in that regard, its just prudent that when need be he can be used.
