A political Analyst says the current political tension in the country is as a result of the Patriotic Front’s inability to listen to the Zambian people and opposition leaders.
Speaking to Qfm News, Dante Saunders says the tension being created by the PF is not healthy for the country.
Mr. Saunders says it is sad that the PF has betrayed the trust of the Zambian people who voted them into power.
He says the Zambian people in voting for the PF believed they would bring an end to political tension and that the situation has now gone from bad to worse.
He adds that the cadres have even made the situation worse by making the lives of the Zambian people miserable.
Mr. Saunders states that people are now scared of going to gatherings such as weddings, funerals among others due to fear of being harassed by party cadres.
He further points out that people are being denied the opportunity to listen to divergent views because the opposition cannot hold rallies.

History has shown that leaders who rule with Iron fists always end up imploding or shooting themselves in the foot. Good examples abound such as Idi Amin, Bokassa, Sadaam, Gadaffi, Mubarak e.t.c. The best job description of a good leader is the biblical “to be great you need to be a servant of all”. In the months that this government has been in power, it has managed to isolate itself and tried to give the impression that all is okay.

Dante charges that the tension being created by PF is not healthy. Dante should just sit down if he has nothing good coming out of his mouth. This is the educated person who says the removal of subsidies was done in bad faith but he has not suggested alternative where the government is going to get money to repair roads, construct clinics, employ more teachers, nurse, doctors etc. He is concerned more about his farm in terms of getting subsidies. He wants the government to go & borrow money from IMF so that the government continue to support subsidies. It is either his education is not put to good use or just greed for power or subsidies. It is a shame for Mr. Saunders to be behave like HH who want to descend to power by any means. Mr. Saunders is suppose to be a pillar of a nation

Tension can not be measured in any known objective way. It is a matter of individual sentiment. What is not right is to mix reality with imagination. If a person is detained without trial, then it is better to talk about the particular detention. If a person is killed by police, then it is better to talk about the death itself. Just talking about tension is out of context is misleading. It can even raise issues of alarming a country.
