Mukuka doubt for Mozambique clash

Midfielder Mulenga Mukuka’s injury concern has worsened days before Zambia’s 2013 Cosafa Cup quarterfinal clash against Mozambique at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe on Sunday.

Mukuka is set to undergo a late fitness test on Saturday.

The Power Dynamos playmaker bruised his left ankle while playing for his club in last week’s Kitwe derby against Nkana.

The youngster has continued to train alone.

“Mukuka is still sidelined, he is training alone because he is still feeling some pain in the ankle.

“It is too early to state whether he will be fit for Sunday match or not, but that will be determined after a late fitness on Saturday,” National Team Doctor Joseph Kabungo said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, coach Herve Renard has drafted in the squad Konkola Blades talented midfielder Claude Bwalya.

Bwalya is part of the home based youthful Chipolopolo squad that has set up camp in Kitwe.

On Monday, Renard drafted in Nkana defender Masautso Zimba ahead of the clash against Mozambique on Sunday.
