FORMER Minister Newstead Zimba has sued his wife Naomi and applied for an interim injunction to restrain her from accessing all the three bank accounts at Finance Bank and from interfering with their two properties.

Mr Zimba in his statement of claim filed in the High Court registry indicated that his wife Naomi Mbewe of 20 years and had been on separation pending divorce, also asked the Court to stop his wife from running the family company in which he was a shareholder.

He said his wife had on several occasions reported him to the police which had led to his detention on accusations of assault.

The plaintiff who is former Information and Broadcasting Services Minister stated that he had been a co-director at Zambia Cosmetology Consultancy Ltd and that his wife who had deserted his matrimonial home and was arrogant as she had become a nuisance to his life through the abuse of his rights.

He indicated that the defendant upon leaving the matrimonial home got the house keys and a motor vehicle registration number ABV 1351 which the plaintiff acquired under the diplomatic cover.

“I have of late not been in my right mind and cannot even perform the duties of director in the family company now being run by Naomi as she is not allowing me to run it. She has been arrogant and became a nuisance by abusing my rights on pretext of trying to fix me by continuously reporting me to the police on accusations of assault which has really disturbed my well being,” he said.

Mr Zimba is now asking an order from the court to compel Naomi to account for all the monies in the company account, her personal bank account and the dollar account that were at Finance Bank.

Another order and a declaration that he was a co-director in the company with shares and an injunction to restrain her from interfering with the properties at house number 10937 Kaseba Road Longacres, another on 41, Nalikwanda Road Woodlands and from running the family company situated in Rhodespark.

Mr Zimba also asked the court to order for preservation or attachment of properties mentioned above.

  1. This is sad that at your age and as senior citizens, you have lamentably failed to resolve your matrimonial issues in a respectful way.

Generally most if not all those holding public office have pathetic private lives when it come to running their homes.

They are the worst people to look up to as sources of advice as theirs are failed and broken homes.

Look at Rupiah, who would go to him for advice on marriage issue when he abuses a grand daughter?

    • You are an *****. What has RB got to do with this? RB is well married to Thandi whom he only married years after his wife was dead. He has never divorced or abused his wife. You PF useful *****s must keep quiet if you have nothing to say

    • Its the age issue. Some of these men are too old to run the fast lane that their too you wifes are running. At twenty that is an hyper active age for Zimba’s slow pace. The young have that stamina to think and do things quick. You cant match with her in every aspect. She may have even put in more thinking in that business whilst Zimba id thinking and moving at snales pace. No wonder the name Tandiwe is being mentioned as well. Big Daddy problems, expecting the you one to slow down when her capacity is to win 100m sprint. Its not only sex but brain power.

    • RB’s wife died. The bible does allow someone to re-marry! It does not prescribe the age difference. RB never went after skirts like your foolish SATA. RB never sired multiple children like your foolish SATA.

RB was happily married and showed off his wife in public.

      leave RB alone.

    • How things quickly change?! In 2002, this man, then a minister, was running away from his first wife for this new wife:

      The Post – 17 June 2002
Zambia: Zimba’s ‘Ex- Wife’ Sues His ‘Wife’ for Marriage Interference
      By Chama Nsabika
INFORMATION minister Newstead Zimba’s first wife, Helen, has sued his current wife, Naomi Mbewe, for marriage interference.

Helen has filed the suit in the Chilenje local court and it comes up for the first hearing tomorrow. She said she had endured great suffering for a long time and now wanted justice to be done.

  2. By law ,there is no way the courts could pass judgment in ur favour, all wealth acquired during marriage will be shared in %.
How many wives is mr zimba going to have in life?there is no perfect marriage sir ,focus on the strength of your partner and not her weakness’.try to be a model to your children.

  3. Thats what you get bakamba for marrying akamwaiche.Nolomwakula but ubuhule bwena tamwakula.Umwaiche uyo kale ayamba ukuchongesha kumbi.Ala chabulanda sana.

  4. Zimba is one of those who divorced the first wives when they moved to Lusaka with Chiluba, its pay back time Zimba. That ka Naomi was young that time, and Zimba fell for her.

  5. All of a sudden, all Zambian marriages are failing when yet we had the second lowest divorce rate in the world. The love of money and sex is too much. Get back to your senses people.

    • not all nor most marriages are failing in zambia. few such pipo like NZ and alike grown ups when they encounter some enhanced lifestyle, they forget how success came. the original madam was the strength to take opportunities.

  6. THIS IS VERY SAD AS IT IS COMING FROM PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE SHINNING EXAMPLES AND MODELS FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I couldn’t articulate the unease I felt, but you’re right, sad.

  7. Komboni Dweller, this guy is now looking for a job from MCS, we have seen pictures like this before. Naomi is about to completely deplete these bank accounts!

    • I know it’s our culture to kneel before elders and people in positions of authority such as chiefs. This still looks odd and misplaced. Suspicious too.

  8. Zimba, you should grow up. Why do you like young girls. You need serious prayers from MMD president Nevers Mumba if at all he is still a pastor.

  9. Chikkala you reap what you sow,you deserted your loyal wife for akali hule,we remember you very well, that was 1991 how time moves.

    • I remember this **** when he was home affairs minister in ka Titus Chiluba’s cabinet. Zimba is the worst scum you can pick from under your shoe, the thieving chap used to help himself freely to confiscated Drug dealer’s cars from DEC impound yard and distribute them like gifts to his notorious vile sons.

  10. And you must acquired all those properties dubiously, ACCC and DEC should come in to investigate, remember Chiluba at one time commented that Zimba was the most corrupt minister in his cabinet who did not appreciate what Chiluba had done for him, good riddance, it is time to reap what planted 20 years ago, the fruits are ready.

  11. BA ZIMBA DIRTY LAUNDRY OUTSIDE SURE AT YOUR AGE WITH YOUR WIFE?? WHAT MESSAGE ARE YOU SENDING TO YOUNG ZAMBIANS?? IT’S A SHAME TO HAVE SUCH LEADERS. CANT YOU SORTOUT YOUR NONSENSE AT HOME AS MATURE ELDERS?? VERY SAD. WAS IT WHY MWAFUKEME?? FOR A JOB KULI BA BOSS??

  12. You should have known that at one point, without the political power and access to the gravy train, you young toy girl was bound to leave you for other lovers her own age. She was in it to get closer to the money & the power not love.
You have reaped what you sowed mr. Zimba !

    • Naomi has been Zimba’s wife for 20 years. It is not that she is aged 20 years as some bloggers seem to suggest.

  13. Too Bad our zimba, the only genuin wife is the one you married first,THE ONE GOD gave U. you decided to devorce her with the influence of FTJ. (money)

  14. Get rich by marrying into wealth, a nice strategy for the gold digger Mrs Zimba. You will at least get a start up capital from this sugar daddy Zimba. Sangwapo.

  15. Shame that things can become so out of hand, otherwise, am not suprised it’s becoming normal for spouses to wash dirty laundry in public, so i urge you bloggers to refrain from insulting the man, he must have no choice someone other than family has to step in, it may help them from killing each other. Both of them are at fault, as elderly persons they shouldnt be able to behave like teenagers who got married without knowing what they were falling into, this should tell us how life has evolved my dear friends, it’s now more about material not Love the real foundation of a union btwn Man and woman so sad love is a beautiful thing but then again, there is that thing thin line, thats why i wouldnt be shocked anymore they say “the grass is always greener”, but wait till you open the Pandora…

    • I agree with you Cindy, this would have been dealt with quietly by family in a private domain. There’s another side though, because as women we are better protected. He just can’t walk out on you after supporting his career for decades and leave you with nothing as it used to be.

    • Hi Black speed mama, really sad, imagine even people who aint supposed to know about their issue are now voicing out about it, i have no idea what happened to them in those 20 years but i can say something about it all because it’s now in the open which is unfair to both of them.
Men can be very unfair in this life, i wouldnt mind if she took it all if at all what you have mentioned is right, i wouldnt give him a chance after all they never give us any anyway.

  16. Zimba is another vile shameless mambala who phifered when he was Home affairs minister, the vile grandpa of **** left his wife of 20 years for a teenager like sugardaddy Ala Bee. Who was looking after your naughty sons when they were causing trouble in Lusaka, the **** must share 50% of his stolen property with his first wife.

  17. Mr. Zimba, Sir. Free legal advice: As a shareholder, you cannot sue on behalf of the company. Your case will not succeed. Simply divorce her and resolve to wind the company up so you can start a fresh one.
