PF cadres today descended on National Restoration Party (NAREP) leader Elias Chipimo and his other senior party officials and harassed them on Cairo Road.

National Secretary Reverend Jervan Kamanga together together a NAREP youth leader only identified as Bwalya abducted and assaulted.

Reverend Kamanga who was in company of NAREP leader Elias Chipimo at the time of the abduction which happened in the Central Business District sustained injuries in the ordeal.

Mr Chipimo’s head of administration and presidential assistant David Kapoma confirmed the alleged violence in an interview and described the action as retrogressive. He said that NAREP officials had a tough time locating Reverend Kamanga who was abducted at about midday before being dumped at Down Town bus stop.

He said he suspected that the youths were Patriotic Front (PF) cadres sent by some PF leaders to harass Mr Chipimo.

He said Mr Chipimo who was in the company of his party national chairperson, Joseph Mushalika, national secretary Jarvin Kamanga and youth secretary Bwalya Nondo were roughed up by the youths around 11.00 hours.

Mr Kapoma said Mr Chipimo had gone to Lusaka’s Downtown shopping mall for shopping and on his way back decided to take a walk from Downtown into Cairo Road when suddenly, they were accosted by a mob of unruly youths who blocked them and started hurling insults at them.

“What we are witnessing now is an indication that we are going backwards in terms of democracy as our freedom of movement is being curtailed. We call on law enforcers to ensure that they do their work and protect innocent citizens,” he said.

He said upon seeing Mr Chipimo and his party officials the youths mobilised themselves and blocked him and started manhandling him but was in the confusion whisked away by his driver.

The youths warned them never to pass through Cairo Road or markets as though they were in power.

“As we speak I can confirm that the duo are still receiving treatment at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) where we dropped them because they have been severely beaten,” he said.

He said the matter had since been reported to Lusaka Central Police.

Both Police Spokesperson Charity Chanda and Lusaka Province Commissioner Joyce Kasosa said they had not yet received any report on the matter.

Meanwhile National Restoration party leader Elias Chipimo Junior has said that Zambians should not trust politicians with empty promises.

Speaking shortly after undertaking a walk in the streets of Lusaka this morning to have a direct interaction with people on the streets, Mr. Chipimo said that the majority have expressed worry on the failure by the PF government to fulfill their campaign promises.

Mr. Chipimo said that there is need for government to pay attention to the cries of the people if they are to deserve another term of office.

The NAREP leader has also expressed worry on the high unemployment levels among young people in the country.

He said that interacting with people is the best way to know what exactly their needs and challenges are.

    • Elias Chipimo is a picture of meek and submissive. A lamb would look like a lion next to him. That is why he is harassed.

If he wants to be taken seriously, he needs to show some mettle and fight back!

    • Thats why babaponwena ba Peter he looks ukuzinkimana.Let him be strong like father Bwalya who fights back even when shake shake has been poured in his eyes temporarily blinding him.The other day the father promised to throw stones at Pf cadres and to insult back if pushed too much.

    • Nubian Britches ….being cold hearted, inconsiderate or callous is not a virtue either.Thats why apathetic dictators like Shaka zulu,Saddam or Hittler have blood on their hands.Try to live with a tyrant before you comment garbage.

    • Mr Elias chipimo Snr died a long time ago. He was a politician in the Kaunda era.

    • Mr chipimo Snr is very much alive… He was even photographed hard dancing in one of the recent new year`s eve bash… so Nastradamus is right

    • mistook him for another leader suspected of treason who has long since died.

    • High Speed, you probably mean the late Valentine Musakanya (MHSRIP), who was implicated in the 1980 coup attempt but was subsequently acquitted.

    • @Nine Chale
You’re right and thank you for setting me straight.

  1. goodness. looks like PF is carrying out some sort of experiment on the tolerance level of Zambians coz it baffles even them on how much sh!!t we are willing to take.

  2. When HH the next Zambian president said CNP is a dictator, blind followers of father Ukwa called him names.

  3. Imwe bantu,,, why is PF so scared of Chipimo to an extent were PF thugs start throwing stones at him for just walking in the town corridors and greeting people… sure??… is it because he has shave off his hair like chief jumbe, so Sata is scared of him and sends people to threaten him on his behalf.

    • the issue of bald heads is real. One of the directors from a quasi-govt institution was busy dying his bald head as he was preparing to meet ba mwine in one of the high class saloons. The young man with hair which can be counted after the job was done he looked like his head was full of hair.

  4. I could have waited for 2016, but it may be too late. Let us pray for the DIVINE REMOVAL OF MR SATA NOW! I think that Sata MUST GO. It is something that I say with a deep heart of sorrow, but someone else in PF can rule, but not this man. I declare and decree that Sata will not be there in 2016. Thank God for justice. We pray that we may live in peace but if this peace is hindered by Sata, he must either change his behavior or be removed like Herod who was eaten up by worms while on his throne.

    • Someone else can rule in the PF? Any suggestions? All I see is a party of empty tins starting from the top!

    • Dr Kaseba for President. How a good girl could get mixed up with a monstrous evil is beyond me. What is it with good girls and bad men? Look at Whitney Houston, she would still be alive if it was not for B Brown.

  5. is it pf attacking the people or mmd and npnd? we cannot conclude on it pf. kabolala ni pakuboko. naimwe ba times you suck with yo reports. are verified its pf doing such stupidy attacks on inocent people. pls make verification b4 you post anything. mwalaba inkondo mucalo muno.

  6. If I were Stella Libongani, I would be stashing away buck for my flight expenses to a non-extradition country after these dudes step aside (hopefully) in 2016 coz ma’am, they will be coming to get you……

  7. Those are not PF youths but just some jobless youths looking for something to amuse them. They went after you Chipimo because you are a celebrity or a well known public figure and not that you intimidate or threatens them politically.Tread well son.

  8. kikikikikiki! So hapy because its chipimo.this young in years but old in looking man thought he was an angel.

  9. Eish, the only level headed person that can rescue the insanely mad PF from itself and from the wrath of the zambian voters is Given Lubinda.

  10. OK we hear stories now, but where is the proof? Surely one of Chipimo’s guys has a camera on his phone to show us the “severe injuries”? Or is someone just trying to start trouble in Zambia?

    • At least we know of his mother and some people not even there mothers are known. Just claiming to be from some extinct village in some direction of a province.

  11. These are early signs that the PF will by force refuse to handover power when they lose come 2016. The time to tame the PF is now. It’s possible that Zambia may be declared a one party dictatorship soon.

  12. All of these women, Stella, Anna and the whole harem will be dumped like used condoms when the time comes. They had better have money stashed away in tonnes. They have taken the womens movement 50 decades backwards.

  13. Awe sure, I’m even afraid of going home now. I thought the CBD and Cairo at least had some cops at strategic points. So cops or corpses only react like at City Market.!!!

    Sad reading indeed!

  14. Good evening

Every week, every day, somebody gets harrassed or beaten up somewhere in Zambian politics.

Is there no decency left for politicians in the country? The funny thing about it is that you will never see HH, Chipimo or President Sata get themselves physically entangled in some kind of “political bashing”. So why would so themselves “dirty” in fighting someone else’s political battles?

  15. This PF culture of violence and intolerance is the same “benign” spark that lit the great electoral and ethnic fires in Kenya,Ivory Coast and Rwanda. We in zambia foolishly think we’re special or immune to such mayhem and bloodletting.

  16. So 4 grown men went shopping? To buy what? Were they buying supplies for a funeral? And decided to leave their car and take a stroll? Elias and crew don’t lie! Zambians are not that stupid.

    • Zon. I agree. This is a cooked up story by Elias and his NAREP followers meant to deceive small minds like dudelove. Let’s hope this time the NAREP candidate will get at least a 100 votes in tomorrows by-elections

  17. The one wishing the president death, may this curse follow you to your forth generation.instead of praying for what you are askin. We will pray that you don’t see 2016

  18. The LT says “The youths warned them never to pass through Cairo Road or markets as though they were in power”.

Yes, those youth are in power. Can’t you see how they have continued to misbehave and none of them has been succesfully prosecuted? They voted overwhelmingly for PF and they still overwhelmingly support the party. If the youth really were aggrieved by PF in anyway, such incidents would not happen becoz the other youths opposed to PF would neutralise those attacks which are increasingly becoming frequent. Brother Elias is in a state of shock. HH, please console your former mocker.

  19. Under the “watchful eye of Zambia Police and other “invisible” state security agencies”. “After all Chipimo is not a Head of State” they might say but he is a tax payer and Zambian citizen they are paid to protect and defend. Shame on them.

  20. How can a leader mot have bouncer? Any clever kaponya can make a stupid name for himself. Please, start hiring bouncers as they have no jobs.

  21. Imwe ba kaponya ! you will have a rude awakening if you try that rubbish on my auntie who is also a leader in the opposition! We have hired the Chubb Security officers from the South to protect her ! They have the latest security technology that your you & your fellow kaponyas only dream of ! We guess that this could start a civil war in our beloved motherland. That is why we are only warning your dog handler to put you on a very short leash. otherwise, you will curse the day you began beating up on opposition leaders !!!

    • Ba chilufya Mulenga……..Do you have an idea what you re talkin about? can you even kill a malinso? Stop those war wishes my friend, you have no idea what you re asking for. War is bad. As Zambians lets just try hard to find a way of doing things right. Dont even allow the thought of war in your head. Inkondo ibi mune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. It is sad to witness such hideous behavior still being tolerated by Zambians. What beats me is how we the Zambian people really let such criminal activities perpetually being carried out by these cadres. I guess we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

We overwhelmingly voted for a president with a violence background so we should not complain when such acts take place. However, this does not mean that we cannot amend our past mistakes. Any sane blogger would surely concur with me that such belittling, emasculating, despicable behaviors should immediately be condemned and the perpetrators brought to book.

We may not owe it to ourselves, but to the unborn Zambians who are to build on our changed legacy for the success of our beloved nation.
