Coach Herve Renard says Zambia’s the away 1-1 draw against Botswana in Saturday’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier is a good result.
Festus Mbewe’s goal was cancelled by Lemponye Tshereretso as the two teams shared the spoils in the first round, first leg tie at Molepolole Sports Complex in Gaborone.
In a post match interview Renard said the match was tough.
“It is a good result especially playing on an artificial pitch but my boys would have done better if they had kept their concentration,” Renard said
“I think when you win something you tend to think you are the best.”
Coach HR you have my support. I love you and the whole chipolopolo team. Other people will criticize you because they were not given the top job as chipolopolo manager. They will always celebrate your failures and wont appreciate your achievements. So just do the best you can for Zambia.
It’s not for Renard to determine what a good, bad or acceptable result is for Zambians. He was employed to deliver credible results for Chipolopolo and needs to be educated about our history and position in Southern African soccer, which he shouldn’t destroy. For instance, the recent COSAFA tournament reaffirmed our standing in southern African soccer, and this position can only be maintained by winning and not swinging up and down…
