Kalusha -Exit is painful

Share

FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya has regretted Zambia’s failure to advance further in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Zambia’s 2014 World Cup dreams came to a conclusive end on Friday with a 2-1 away loss to Ghana in Kumasi.

Kalusha described Zambia’s failure as painful.

“I think it is painful and a difficulty pill to swallow,” he said.

“We played against the best time but as a team Zambia we were in control,” Kalusha stated.

He however stated that Chipolopolo’s failure to beat Sudan at home and Lesotho in Maseru this year was a blow to Zambia’s World Cup campaign.

“We have not lost the game today because I think we stumbled along the way. Twice we stumbled in Lesotho and at home against Sudan,” Kalusha noted.

He said:” We have to pick ourselves up and continue in what we are doing because the future is bright.

  1. You have made us proud and put us on the map, many are the good things that the Team has done we rejoiced with you even in moments like this you are ours and yours is the Chipolopolo. Win o loose still memories are there that our team is a gret team. Love you all. It jut football and you are truely Zambian…lets move on one day we will be there.

  2. We Zambians have spoken several times, that the preliminary matches are very important, especially when we play easily beatable teams. But you guys you want to listen. You dont concentrate unitl in the 11th hour.

You want us to talk using our asses thats when you will listen, especially u kalusha. Mentor your boys properly

    • this is very pain, I feel like slapping the whole team and you organisers. true you thought being champs would automatically qualify you to worldcup. Zambia are stupid, foolish, ***** loosers

    • And all the stumbles can be blamed on Mweene. Even Kalilo Kankonje could make such mistakes. And Chris Katongo also drag the team with pace. If its about playing without captains, that’s all ok, you only need a captain in trainings.
Sometimes its not about playing with gentlemen, just because they good people.
      – Danny Munyao is better than Mweene at this stage.

    • @jay jay what do you have against Kalu ? He hasn’t done badly in his tenure as a president, you are a good for nothing armchair critic who lacks foresight…Kalu has been instrumental in nuturing the young players…including the rising star program that has seen many youths get attached to clubs…get real

  3. Here is another vague statement from the Great King of gullible fans himself as I stated;

“We have not lost the game today because I think we stumbled along the way. Twice we stumbled in Lesotho and at home against Sudan,” The Great King noted.

Then how can it be painful to exist when you lost in the previous matches? Were you expecting miracles in Kumasi? We need proper admins not these self-serving empty suits.

    • Aww Jay Jay. Congrats on winning the “I told you so” prize but don’t rub it in too long. It really hurts, hahahaha. Hopefully some of your advice will filter through, just go easy on knocking the fans. Apparently human beings have the right to support whom they like. I can be a fan and still want the coach and heads of FAZ to pull a finger out!

  4. He said:” We have to pick ourselves up and continue in what we are doing because the future is bright.

In a nutshell he says everything is fine, let’s just pick up where we left off irrespective of his admins shambles…AS I ALWAYS SAY we will never go anywhere with these shortsighted characters who are only in FAZ to make a living for themselves…I REPEAT we will NEVER go ANYWHERE with these empty suits.

    WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

    • Give us some proposal of names, but not Munaile, Miles Sampa, Simataa or stupid Kamanga.
The worse employee at FAZ is team manager Kamwambi, replace him with a white person or a Chinese.
Yes, I think Chinese coaches will be better to employee since Renard is fired. Ask Chris or Chamanga, Chinese are gooooood!!

  5. look at the person who’s talking? what is painful here, because you were given free 3points and you kept on drawing even to Lesotho. so i don’t know what is really pain.

  6. I am shocked with this as news item. I was expecting to hear that i Kalu have exited but he is saying will pick ourselves again. “Isabi ukubola litampila kumutwe” We need a total overhaul of the whole football house otherwise this will be the usual end.

  7. JAYJAY, MANU wins champions league after 10yrs, chelsea after 60yrs,liverpool when GoD intervenes, arsenal perennial escortees, MANC first round specialists, england ntional team quarter final chancers.
So you can see jay jay that zambia with HR is in the class of spain, italy, brazil germany, egypt. Nations that know how to win modern football cups not your overrated aimless runners from one end of pitch to another… The epl. Even these dim khaki stars of ghana used to win in ancient stone age times.

    • IF FIFA had stolen 3 POINTS from Zambia and given them to Sudan, you professional whiners would still be whining and COMPLAINING to this day, but neither SUDAN nor GHANA nor LESOTHO COMPLAINED because they all believed in EARNING their way through actual effort, NOT 3 FREE CHARITY POINTS.
How many REALLY GREAT teams in Africa will STILL FAIL to qualify after being awarded 3 FREE Charity Points by FIFA? Zambia is only good in your mind.

    • Why do you keep referencing to EPL if you detest it so much…i have never referenced to it in any of my posts. Please stick to African football and administration!!

    • @XCX well said, only cheapolopolo can afford to lose after being given 3 free points, imagine if the so-referred to dim stars were given those points. Poor finishers ba Zambia even if they want to blame Ghana now. Zambia is forever going back to the drawing board; I think that board is totally worn out now. No new ideas, how sad.

  8. Zambia had it going with a free ride from the first game against Sudan, a game which Zambia lost but got three free points anyway. Thanks be to God. Failing to capitalize on that is disgraceful.

  9. @Jay Jay. So the ’empty suits’ helped lift AFCON last year? I know your answer would be “let bygones be bygones”. But hey! Football is a tricky business. You win some and lose some. Boateng had written us off as “a nation of Southern Africa who’s players play in inferior Chinese and South African leagues”. After yesterday, I think he has a changed opinion.

Kalu deserves respect. He remains the best footballer after “Ucar” Godfrey Chitalu. His legendary slaughter of Italy in 1988 in Seoul will remain in the History books. Does that make him immune to criticism? Hell no! But I think if there’s anyone who would be more than happy to add another feather on his cap, it would be great Kalu. So a loss like that of yesterday must surely traumatise and devastate him

    • @sgt, next time even if Ghana takes the match to kumasi or ist kamasi or ist kimasi or ist komasi or ist kemasi, we shall wallop them useles overrated bunch of takataka.

    • You make it look like they won AFCON 2012 from their own resources..these guys are heavily dependent on taxpayer’s funds, successful FAs today are self sufficient not these empty suits. What did they do after they won? Nothing..they couldn’t even market our players after that tournament to bigger clubs in Europe. At this every moment matches have been cancelled because of national mourning what a joke…if FAZ was proactive they would have sorted this out.
You continue blindly praising your Great King as you will never GO ANYWHERE he will just get richer and richer whilst you drown your sorrows!!
By the way judge your Great King on his management and administration not football as he is no longer a player…wake up from your nostalgia and stop day dreaming.

  10. The sad reality, and what most people seem to either not know or ignore, is that even if we had beaten Lesotho in Maseru and beaten Sudan in Ndola, we would still end up 2nd on goal difference. Unless of course we’d beat Lesotho with a bigger goal margin than 7-1. We need to pray for an easier group next time! As for now, it will be fair if Renard can call it quits before we continue to blame him.

    • U ARE RIGHT WE WERE GIVEN FREE POINTS FROM THE BOARDROOM BUT STILL WE FLUFFED,ITS LIKE BEFORE THE EXAM YOU ARE GIVEN LEAKAGE AND THEN YOU COPY THE FULL STOPS UPSIDE DOWN.

    • @george bush: you can call us names as you may but the fact remains the same, you think the Black Stars are overrated you must acknowledge that they never lost or draw any of their home matches they won them all and also won two away matches even with ten men against Sudan, do you call this team overrated? what did you do with you 3free points? how many home and away matches did you win? in the African qualifiers they were the team with highest goals scored and less goals concede. you can keep on hallucinating of walloping the Black Stars next, the fact is the Black Stars will forever be superior to your Chipolopolo! haha Black Supremacy!

    • iwe if we had beaten those teams the mind set of the players wud have been different am we wud have gotten a draw kalu and his technical team r useless thy shud all go they have won the africa cup thank you.let new pipo with fresh ideas come and continue frm wer thy have ended balefwaya fye bakafumepo fyalya ba fililwe penalty mu cosafa awe ba kalu mwa bomba its time to step down.we knw u didnt invest n u wnt to use the FA

  11. What do you expect if you can not defeat Lesotho away, draw with Sudan at home and all this with a free three points cushion? For any reasonable Zambian, the World Cup campaign ended in Maseru. Only dreamers and misinformed people believed they could pull off this one. Renard should have been fired after that poor AFCON 2013 performance, but you allowed him to mess up this campaign too.
In any case, Ghana are a better organized team and deserve to go forward. Better luck next time and please no more points from nowhere!!

  12. Mr Kalusha, no need to Cry over the game against Ghana. The race was lost when the boys became big headed and lost points in Lethoto and again lost points when they shared points with sudan. The next time such mistakes should be avoided.

  13. Painful it is, but it will certainly be very much less painful when you leave FAZ. In fact very few people will give a rats behind when that happens!

  14. There we go again comments and comments which does not solve the problem here, blaming FAZ, blaming the coach, what is our problem, us Zambians we have a disease which is latent. Tell you players to work hard the coach and FAZ are only there to guide them, before HR when did we win the Africa Cup, Or for example the big teams around the world it takes them years to win finals, why can’t we just tell our players to stop drinking chibuku during off season, the problem is the players and us Zambians.

    • True. I always say the same. Who was the best coach Zambia had? Buselic? But even Buselic failed to bring AFCON. Zambians, where are you going to find a good and “cheap” coach? And who was the best FAZ president? Tom Mtine, David Phiri, Simataa Simataa? But these guys also failed to bring any honours to Zambia and their administrations were riddled with the same incompetencies. At least HR and Kalusha have something to write home about. The problem is the players themselves. Hard work and discipline coupled with talent are the only way to glory in sport.

    • ba muluzi the problem is nt wit th players its wit the admin and th technical bench mind u that team wich won the cup was bonnet’s herve has failed to make ateam of his own the team plays chipantepante football u cant see anytactical approach in theteam.bena kalu pick names wenmaking a team.can u explain why we wud start with a lone striker against Ghana who cant take on defenders when we need to win.mayauka is not a sort of striker u play as a lone striker he cnt take on defenders on his own.he needed a partner.i dnt even knw wat we wer trying to do wit two defensive midfielders in th team bcoz thy ended up just being in each others way,for instance the second goal that ghanaian shud nt have taken tht shot if our defensive mid had taken th right position

  15. It’s SAD we are out of Brazil world cup. Zambians have learnt a lesson that a win is a win whether its by a lone goal scored by inspirational captain Christopher Katongo or by eleven goals scored by each of the eleven players. It also doesn’t matter whether you played well or not. Katongo scored very important goals for Zambia but we demotivated him by calling him all sorts of names. Great teams just win games whether they are playing well or not.

  16. Zambians! Insults will not sortout issues! We nid to know that there is time for everything. We waited for yrs b4 geeting the first ever Africa Cup! Our time will come for Worrld Cup appearance! Kalu and Rena have no problem!

  17. Going forward, the Chipolopolo should practice very hard on how to score set pieces like corners and anywhere near the goal. They should learn to shoot free kicks straight at goal like great Kalu did instead of passing to each other. They should also practice ball passing without the opponents intercepting unless they are cornered. Ball possession without threatening the opponents goal mouth is useless.

    • so who is supposed to ensure thy do that.it still gets down to the coach and admin wat do they do wen thy r in camp wasting our money the coach shud have ensured thy practsd o those thngs u r saying but alas

  18. FACT:u cant teach some one talent…they have to be born with it.its the skills like trapping a ball, running with it and kicking it to go in a certain direction which can be taught, the people playing now.lack talent.look for new ones.if you don’t agree, then there’s a possibility that you have been living under a rock for a while because there is nothing pointing to talent with regards to the teams performance in the last 12 months and even beyond.Accepting that our boys have no talent will enable us to move on and get a fresh pair of legs.i rest my case

  19. Zambia’s lose was a litmus paper for FAZ’s ability to rise to the occassion in terms of organisation. This match was lost due to the events that led to the shambolic travel arrangements on Tuesday night.

    • You were never going to win even if you arrived a month in advance, you failed to win in Lesotho what makes you think you would win in Kumasi? They Ghanaians had a game plan and they stuck to it. We are not WORTHY simple as that.

You people said you would do all sorts to the black stars listen to yourselves now..really laughable!!

  20. I expected Kalusha to quit instead of issuing this hollow statement, no wonder blogger Jay Jay refers to him and his fellow failures as ‘self-serving empty suits’.
Yes Kalusha, the team’s exit is painful and your exit would be the most honourable thing to do.

  21. @ George Bush,
The Zambia team IS NOT good. PERIOD. How many REALLY GREAT teams in Africa will STILL FAIL to qualify after being awarded 3 FREE CHARITY Points by FIFA? Zambia is only good in your mind.
IF FIFA had stolen 3 POINTS from Zambia and given them to Sudan, you professional whiners would still be whining and COMPLAINING to this day, but neither Sudan nor Ghana nor Lesotho COMPLAINED because they all believed in EARNING their way through actual effort, NOT 3 FREE CHARITY POINTS.
Your luck has ran out. Chimpolopolo is only good in your mind.. LoL

  22. Realistically speaking it was going to be tough for Zambia to go passed Ghana in Kumasi. As I submitted earlier we lost it in Maseru against Lesotho and in Ndola against Sudan. I suggest that coaches should start afresh and go the breadth of the country to identify what I call the big-foot, bare-foot players, and those strong boys who actually tear the soccer ball with a chigondo short. Get these strong boys, clean them up and teach them to skillfully hit the ball with soccer boots on green grass. They will compete strongly. Also teach them the soccer vocabulary, words such as Fantastic; Unbelievable; Amazing; Tough game; so they give interviews after the game. These bare-foot footballers will compete and deliver. They may even end up being pros in Europe and marry white girls and be…

  23. Thanks Great Kalu. Well done guys , Africa Cup in 2012, Cosafa in 2013, Lets plan for 2014. Hard luck on the Ghana game but please assure the coach, we are behind him. You lose some you win some, thats the name of the game called Football. Unless one has just dropped off the bus and does not understand the game. Lets learn from our mistakes in Lesotho and Sudan, there is always room for improvement. All progressive minded Zambians are behind FAZ, the coach and the players all the way. In any situation, you will find very negative people calling for someones bloody, appearing very holy but please focus on what needs to be done!!!!!

    • You make it look like they won AFCON 2012 from their own resources..these guys are heavily dependent on taxpayer’s funds, successful FAs today are self sufficient not these empty suits. 25. Typical of the Zambian team; they do not deliver when they need to deliver and always put themselves in difficult positions thus relying on mathematical chances. Between the two, I prefer watching Ghana than the blunt and ineffective bullet “Chipolopolo”. I would expect a major shake-up at FAZ, starting with the coach. The guy has simply outlived his usefulness and is clueless. The performance indicators for the FAZ executive and their coaching bench should have been qualification to the next AFCON cup and the World Cup, both of which they have failed to achieve. Where is Kambwili when the team is not performing to expectation?

  26. This is what happens when a coach is always happy with a draw, he sets the bar very low, and it becomes easy to lose, and losing is for losers. we need ambitious people, as for the game i reserve my comments because i didnt watch the match, but its clear silly mistakes and lack of seriousness against lesotho and sudan cost us the chance,.better luck next time, and by luck i mean when opportunity meets preparation.

    • Spot on…they have no benchmark whatsoever only in Zambia… most of they fans are still hallucinating about AFCON 2012.

  27. Gullible, laughable, empty suits, wake up people: some of these bloggers are so predictable in their postings. Very limited vocubularly indeed so to speak. Wonder which university such people went to. Always frothing cowardly behind a keyboard. If you think you are so good at soccer why don’t you become a coach or FAZ president as I ‘m sure these jobs would pay you way better than what you are earning wherever you are. Lets us have constructive criticism: do not just criticize but give us names of players and people that you think will be better players/administrators. Kalusha is patriotic as he came back to serve his country after his retirement and you are typing from a foreign country. What a coward and your postings are boring styopeti.

  28. I like renard but I hate his belief in his white shirt. He think its the one that gave us afcon. That’s superstitious. That Afcon was won thru divine intervention. It was God’s way of removing BITTERNESS many of us had toward Gabon hence the venue.

God was also rewardig you for your stance you took against beer drinking in camp.Renard punished cliff ( nothing wrong with that ).But after that he failed to really FORGIVE the player even after an apology.Real forgiveness demands letting anyone deserving given chance to prove or disprove himself

Let’s remove bitterness and unforgiviness from ourselves, bloggers included. Hon kambwili called for prayers but prayers work if there’s forgiveness and no grudges. Faz listen !!!

This is God’s country.Equal chances .We can still do it…

  29. In the next four years we neither need the current coach nor the current Executive, football is developing at a very fast rate. I am very certain that most of the current players will not play for Zambia’s World cup dream for 2018, hence the need to transform the sport, if Zambia players earn about K20 000 per month from the locals clubs then there could be no need to go South, rather they could wait to break the Europeans league.

  30. Its the name of the game. Maintain the coach, players but make few changes to the team. Renew Herve Renard contract we have seen his achievements. He is the first coach to have brought the Afcon cup on Zambia soil. Beating the golden age stars of Ivory Coast.
