UPND President Hakainde Hichilema

Patriotic Front’s reign is endangered because the electorate are already tired of it, Hakainde Hichilema has charged.

Speaking during a Livingstone United Party for National Development fundraising braii over the weekend, the party leader said that the PF was feeling the UPNDs heat in terms of political fortunes.

Hichilema said that the UPND had made Zambia an unsafe political zone for the PF and would continue reminding the party of its failed promises.

“There is no safe area for PF in Zambia anymore. The UPND has entered what they (PF) used to call their stronghold like Kafulafuta and we beat them hands down,” Hichilema said.

“I want to tell you the people of Livingstone that the outcome of the recent by-elections where we beat PF 4-1 as opposition is a clear sign that Zambians have rejected them. And I promise you that UPND will get its first seat in Eastern Province through Malambo,” he said.

Hichilema said that the whole country was responding well to the UPND including Northern and Luapula provinces where PF used to feel safe.

He said that UPND is growing by the day adding that he was optimistic that 2016 would be a bad year for the PF as a government and as a party.

“The whole country is responding to your party UPND, including Northern and Luapula where PF was safe as its stronghold,” he said.

Hichilema urged UPND members countrywide not to relent but instead continue selling the party and its agenda to the Zambians.

And Hichilema has noted that UPND as a party will no longer rely on contributions from members of parliament for it to run smoothly.

Hichilema said it was therefore imperative for the party to venture into fundraising activities that would raise resources for the party.

“I want to commend the district chairman for organising this braii. As a party, we should no longer rely on contributions from the MPs much as they went to Parliament on UPND tickets. We should also look at other avenues of raising funds for the party,” he said.

And speaking at the same event, UPND provincial chairman for Southern Province Billiard Makwembo encouraged other district to emulate Livingstone, Kalomo and Choma districts that have successful fundraising braiis.

Makwembo said that the decisions to hold fundraising braiis are meant to raise funds for the party’s operations.

He said that this will also help the party grow in all areas countrywide as it will also give an opportunity for members to interact.

Makwembo further charged that the UPND in Southern Province was angry and disappointed with PF cadres who attacked Hakainde Hichilema and his entourage when he went to Kasama recently.

He said that as a result of that, the UPND would not allow the PF to organise itself in Southern Province.

    • HH and his UPND are like an unstoppable Tsunami & those that can’t get this TSUNAMI ALERT will find themselves NAKED when it comes to pass -it’s the ZION TRAIN that we’ve been waiting for. It keeps growing while it’s opposite number demonstrates against itself day in & day out. KEEP ON MOVING HH, YOU’RE ALREADY ON INDEPENDENCE AVENUE APPROACHING… AND THEY KNOW IT!!!

    • H aleisa H aleisa 2016. its HH all the way, sata has disappointed us so much KK was right when he said sata cant run a country he is better supervised, now he is vindicated, shaa FYOLA … WASTED 5 YEARS pa fikalaour Ba PF

  1. mwe bantu, where is sata kanshi? his colleagues are back in their respective countries after they finished addressing the assembly, but our president, as usual, doing the disappearing act every after an international assignment. yaaaaaaba, is he trying to come back as cargo or what?

    • @ cage the crooks
do you see the people of luanshya to be normal ? how does a town have a wall fence? how do you let cows graze in a golf course?and how do you have kambwili for an mp whose pre occupation is just to talk loud with no tangible results,in short they use their asses to think.
so in lusaka ni haleisa haleisa boyi.

    • Better to put your hope in God because he will never let you down.

I think it was George Orwell who said “Politicians can make lies sound truthful and crime look respectable and give pure wind an appearance of solidity. ”

As for the story at hand, just because people are responding well to the opposition party does not mean this will translate into votes. The books are still open and the scores are still being settled. The electorate will draw the balance on election day.

    • @ nine chale
you sound to be a very intelligent cadre, only that you are myopic or you can see but cant believe whats happening.change is imminent my friend just accept the status quo or you will be crushed by the change tsunami.haleisa haleisa 2016

    • @chale, in God we have hope, that he will give us a God fearing young man, wealthy, honest, responsible, good economic manager, exemplary father to young fathers like us, hard working, level headed, successful and inspiring. A person who will tell the nation the truth, that we need to build our country and be an example. Amongst all politicians, HH stands out to be the chosen one. He will prove all of you wrong. He will be the founding father Zambia seriously needs, who will honestly help us rebuild, like Botswana had Ketu Masire. He will surpass chi fonko fonko, the one you call a founding father for nothing, and the liar you have sleeping at Statehouse.

    • the watchdoggers with their bad language of have hijacked Lusaka times.stop insulting the elders no wonder people are afraid to vote for you.if you can insult us now when you are just a regional party what more if God looked the other way and you are in plot one.get down to the level of the kaponyas maybe some might join you, with that boasting na njala its” hakaivotela heka” we would rather vote for MMD.

    • @pan yopa…. welcome to Lusaka times, kindly note that here we dont use the donkey language that you are used to at ************ imagine if you can be insulting us with impunity when you are just a regional ntweno, what if God looked the other way and the devil takes you to plot one. imagine! what will happen to the kaponyaz, imagine! what will happen to the grass at plot one. people of luanshya dont hate you or are they scared of you…they know what will happen to them if they made the mistake of voting for you. get down to earth otherwise we’ would rather vote for MMD, stop the nkaivotele neka mentality.

  2. U need to lay the ur plan for Zambian , tell us how u gonna improve education, judiciary, policing and health with in our budget restrictions. Learn from developed world how they campaign … en u will get the votes.

    • Go to you tube and check out his speeches. Check out the UPND website as well, you will be impressed, unless you have a hidden agenda.

    • @zed patriot,
and how many voters have access to your website.
we have been through all these upnd gymnastics before. i remember prior to the 2011 elections, you assured all and sundry in through your watchdog, that hh is winning the presidential elections come rain come sushine.
      what happened?
you may shout on top of your voices now, but as long as you do not campaign through out the country and convince the electorate, 2016 is coming and is just round the corner, we will see who will have the last laugh.

  3. Politics is like football if Mbesuma fails to score kumusabula. In this case Sata is always caught offside and failing to score important goals, so then come 2016 kumusabula we try HH naine ngafilwa kumusabula we try chipimo.

  4. Yes,we’re tired of PF and tired is a place you reach when can’t think anymore. We’re simply tired of thinking and watching these bunch of incompetents drive Zed down the smelly drain.

  5. As things stand now in 2016 sata will not manage to campaign for re election on account of poor health. So your guess is as good as mine. However zambians are difficult to predict they can even choose a corpse for president.

  6. Why should I vote a president who can’t hold a press conference and talk to us so that we can have an opportunity to ask him questions. Every time he goes out of country for national duty, he always disappears….am tired.

  7. HH is getting over confident. Politics is not 1+1 = 2.
He shall not rule out MMD that has equally strong base in Eastern Province and with Andrew Banda on the horizon, support of the donor community(!) and fair amount of popularity and awareness in Muchinga, Luapula and Northern Provinces, MMD with a right candidate stands better chance of rebounding than HH or any candidate of PF (Sata is not standing in next elections!!).

HH is counting on Malambo through Mwale. If MMD stands there, there is no way UPND will win. It will be MMD. Andrew with his vocal and steadfast approach coupled with behind the scene RB (he is more valuable with his silence)

    • You are right young man,the only party that will defeat PF is MMD ,reasons are simple
MMD is the only party that has support across the country and was not formed in the bedroom but in the boardroom,NAREP UPND including PF are owned by their presidents.
      NO SATA NO PF
      NO HH NO UPND
      NO CHIPIMO NO NAREP
      NO MIYANDA NO HERITAGE
      NO MMD NO ZAMBIA

  8. By taking a backseat but passing by the area where elections are being held, does wonders for MMD candidates. Some of the voters are reminded and out of respect they vote for his party, depriving the ruling party a chance to attack and expose him. His silence becomes a great strength for MMD.

  9. It’s the power of numbers that matter most. PF is strong on the ground. With a lot of infrastructure in place I do not see regional parties win in 2016 trust me.Ala nips Bwato

    • @Cage the Crooks, Are you really serious about us caging the crooks? If we were to do so, you can be sure that HH & UPND will have no competition in 2016! All your lead figures in both MMD & PF would have been jailed by election time bwana.

    • PF is an equally regional party and tribal party at best. My family and I made a very BIG mistake to vote for PF. We have resolved not to vote for PF in 2016.

    • @blue blood,
stop lying that you voted for pf.
just by reading your comment reveals a lot of who you are.
sorry mwana, but wafaula apa pena….

    • @ mature,
So you can tell what party someone voted for from their comments? What a genius!
It is nice that my comments reveal who I am. Do not search far, I am one of those who no longer likes PF. Quite frankly I merely tolerated PF in 2011.

  10. It’s the power of numbers that matter most. PF is strong on the ground. With a lot of infrastructure in place I do not see regional parties win in 2016 trust me.Ala nips Bwato

  11. Even if some people are saying pf got one seat from the opposition, I think PF still was the loser. With all our resources they mis used, bearing in mind that some hunger stricken mps had to cross the floor and collaborated with PF to induce the by election and still loose, PF was a real loser. In fact any genuine ruling party
Canot lose an election within two years of being in power – especially in an area not considered as a stronghold of opposition eg southern. Lies have now caught up with them. Eg they will even fear to go to western in 2016. Mind you, They will split in two – but even if they don’t split, they won’t win

  12. What can Michael Sata offer to the Zambians at this stage mwe bantu ? A failed president, a failed administration which lack the vision to move the country forward. The PF comprise of nothing but crooks and savages who have even failed to manage themselves and their party. ”A house which is divided on itself cannot stand”. How many different languages and pronouncements do we find and hear in the PF camp with countless contradictions ? With such high level of confusions within their own camp, who can suggest that there is anything tangible from these crooks ? we are just watching but as people it pains us the most. Things are cracking apart especially in the mines and the government is giving a deaf ear.

  13. Hakainde has a lot of homework to do, should not celebrate as yet. Get to the ground, which you seem to have detarched yourslef from.

How can you go to the Copperbelt and start asking what “Zale” is? Saying “Kapopo”, and not Kampompo during the last debate.

  14. How can this diaper user under Hive win when they regard PF to be Kaponyas and 50+1 percent of voters are Kaponyas…Tizawonako….and thts where you miss …

    • tombanyoko you call yourself? sad name indeed. come and see what is on the ground you dull cadre, not voting on the internet. such votes Don’t count. sata is a failed project period. whether he is your tribesmate or not, the writing is on the wall ‘kuya bebele’.maybe you can make him governor for muchinga when we kick him out, assuming he will make it to 2016

    • @ Matipa…Typical matipa ….FYI my name is a Tonga name so jst mind yours.Which ground are you talking about may be Ing’ombe Illede ground not elsewhere …Let me make it clear to you only Tongas/Tonganyokos or SDA fanatics can vote Haleisa Halenya…..if want we can even rig 2016 puttn a frog as a president….

    • Ba Tonga whatever ulichipuba and a tribalist we uliila mukuposa amabwe. Why do u have to tribalise everything and why do u hate tongas wechipuba. Utubantu twa so kwati iwe ebalenga ingondo. Lets talk abt wot HH can offer and not what tribe he belongs to. I am not Tonga but i support HH based on his intelligence and way of reasonning. Naiwe walishiba mumutima ati he can be a much better president than ukwa. Nombafye kabili we know emo uliila.

    • HH should start as a ward chairman in Gwembe then he can stand as presidental candidate in 2044. He is still under 5. He should go to kasama and talk about the 100% issue.

    • why should i vote for this hh who even supported zambeef over the contaminated beef and offal at the expense of the people he wants to lead?
anyway, this is typical of free masons.
but he should know that zambia is a christian nation and not a free………….
      we will see, come 2016.

    • You are right its PF which can govern the country. There is no any other party that is capable. Viva PF, Viva SATA….

  15. @ Matipa…Typical matipa ….FYI my name is a Tonga name so jst mind yours.Which ground are you talking about may be Ing’ombe Illede ground not elsewhere …Let me make it clear to you only Tongas/Tonganyokos or SDA fanatics can vote Haleisa Halenya…..if want we can even rig 2016 puttn a frog as a president…nyo!

  16. MMD, PF and UPND are retrogressive parties. To me they are just one and the same. They are violent, power hungry and only in power for there own personal gain. They don’t care if you and me have eaten. all they care about is feeding there bellies.

  17. People, why should you insult ??? 2016 is around the Conner and will are going to vote. Its HH vs Sata. We shall see who will be number 1 and also number 2. HH has said Luapula is gone to him, we wait for the next Bye-election on 22 November to know if HH is lying or telling the truth.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

    • Are you dreaming. Its not possile for a tonga to rule this country. Tongas are still backwards. They have no common sense and they think too slow. So forget about UPND. I can even give a vote to George Mpombo then HH.

  18. Being an enlightened fairly learned and a non tribalist but rates on performance,i was so socked that my man HH teamed up with MMD’s lupuya who evidently had ransacked and grossly mismanaged the economy of Zambia before the 2011 elections.HH failed to see how his bed mate Lupiya with his sons had run down the economy hence the Zambian voters didn’t even want to hear his name but HH strangely kept supporting this Lupiya ,am yet to recover from that disappointing partnership btn HH and Lupiya.HH should show he’s regretted supporting Lupiya may be we may start looking at him.even if I close my eyes I can walk easily on the new Livingstone roads thanks to PF and MP Laurence.

    • Chinyama you are a big liar, all those nice things you see in L/stone, is the initiative of MMD. PF are just chancers without programmes of their own.

    • @ woodman, you are a liar too, an initiative without works can never yield, but action without initiative yields. come to CB the dual carriage way is being worked on MMD dreaamnt it, who will do it then?

    • Woodman,I am very objective ,,if UNDP scores I acknowledge ,,MMD and the same should go for PF ,constructive criticism is welcome but with alternatives, not just being a cadre to constantly object to even progressive developments visible to all .If PF just brings another project to L/stone,that will shut down opposition completely in the area.voters are watching indeed L/stone is not anybodie’s stronghold.

  19. I DIDNT KNOW TONGAS ARE SO SHALLOW MINDED FOR THIS BET WITH ME.PUSH A STICK IN MY ASS IF HH WILL BE PRESIDENT FOR ZAMBIA.

OR SIMPLE EXAMPLE ZAMBIA VS BRAZIL FREINDLY

    FULLU STOP!

  20. Dream on HH and your handful of supporters! Come 2016 am voting on PF because I have seen a quantum leap in my salary as one of the most highly educated Zambians working in a public university. Am hearing civil servants say the same. I would rather vote for the devil I know and not the devil I do not know. Even my extended family members are benefiting from improvements in my conditions of service. Not the 4% salary increments we were used to under MMD.

  21. Self soothing woods by HH the greatest wild dreamer of modern era. It goes without saying Makwembo the patriarch of tribal politics is also fantasizing that PF can not be organized in Southern Province.Let him know that PF is deep rooted in this province.

    • Zambians don’t want change for the seek of it,evaluate performance, then advise where you see short comings, lets improve what we already have to the benefit of our nation,we changed Unip to the worse MDD now no more experiments PF just has to be tailor made to be called every bodies party.others keep waiting PF is calling all ZAmbians now..hard luck Nkombo….

  22. HH, u are equally a lier. Has kafulafuta been pf stronghold? What i know is it has been yos nd mmd. Look at de reasoning of yo cadre. If dose cadres did intimidate Hh does it mean u should replicate that?Anyway they might have coppied it from u.

  23. If a party president can mislead his followers that Kafulafuta was a PF seat and everyone starts clapping then we have a problem. Lets wait for 2016 and continue exhibiting your political ignorance. epompelele

  24. UPND leader HH is saying loudly what everyone else is saying silently. And that is, in a democracy freedom of movement is guarnteed. Freedom od association is also a right and not a privilege. The hard part of it still remains conceing defeat at the polls. When PF wins elections, it is necesary for UPND to concede defeat withdigmity, honor, integirty. PF is leading today. It is possible that one day UPND will also provide leadership for the nation. Whatever the case may be, it wrong to change goal posts.
