Patriotic Front (PF) Nkonta Ward Councillor in Kaputa District has asked PF Secretary General, Wynter Kabimba to resign from his position to enhance unity in the party.

Dickson Musonda said the wrangles that have emerged in the party will only stop if Mr Kabimba heeds to calls from the glass root and steps down.

He noted that what is happening to Kabimba is not a witch-hunt but is merely a pay-back time for the evils he did to his colleagues like Kabwata Member of Parliament, Given Lubinda, and Geoffrey Mwamba.

Mr Musonda said what is now expected of Mr Kabimba is that he resigns on moral grounds and heeds to what the majority want.

The PF ward official, who was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kaputa, also proposed the holding of an extra-ordinary meeting where all senior party officials, including Members of Parliament could meet to resolve the differences in the ruling party.

He noted that the happenings in the party are as a result of some senior officials’ lack of knowledge on how to handle party matters.

Mr Musonda also disclosed that what is happening at the top, if left unchecked, will have negative effects on the grassroots as people will start leaving the party to join the opposition.

Meanwhile, Mr Musonda has also advised the party to work hard in ensuring that Kaputa benefits from the various developments that President Michael Sata and his government have initiated.

He noted that the President has undertaken a lot of development but the district is not benefiting much.

Mr Musonda said it would, therefore, be important that the party, working with the area MP, continues to lobby government for development in the area.

If winter was not associated to Tongas, all this would not have been there. The only wrong in the eyes of his accusers is that Winter is from the Tonga speaking tribe and can not be president of the party.

Actually, Kabimba’s arrogance makes him the best man for Secretary General position. Although he may just need to adjust in a few areas like not calling his cadres street kids. But believe you me, Kabimba is very strong in character for leadership though his words are not very appealing. I think even Sata has seen those qualities in Kabimba.

As for Given Lubinda, he just destroyed himself. Nothing is as bad as praying that the government you are saving fails. The chap was leaking information to the enemy camp and evidence against him was found. In fact some members in PF tried to save him but it was just too much on his part. He will never bounce back in PF structures. Councillor Musonda be principled. Dont talk out of excitement. You are just being used.

  Emmy, you speak of things you do not know as though you are an expert. There is time to be quiet and I think on this one you better stay quiet. Your analysis of the events is flawed. Treachery is a serious offence and the offender cannot be suspended for 6 months only. Lubinda’s punishment for the purported crime shows that Kabimba had no evidence against Lubinda. Your tone shows that you are Kabimba’s under-pant handler.

Your boss Sata begged for Masebo and others from other regions to win the presidency.

Now what you have started will amount to this party being a Northern, Muchinga and Lupula political party and will never win 2016 election. Sad for the party some of us voted for.
