Relegation threatened sides Konkola Mine Police and Nkwazi on Saturday battled to a 1-1 draw in a FAZ Super Division tie at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.
Mine Police came from behind to salvage a point in this Week 24 match in the border town.
Steward Chikandiwa handed Nkwazi a 33rd minute lead against the run of play before Ronald Chibwe equalised two minutes after the restart.
This was Chikandiwa’s eighth goal of the season.
The home side dominated play and could have easily won the match had they utilised a litany of chances created in both halves.
On sixteen minutes Chanda Mushili saw his header saved by Nkwazi keeper Nelson Banda who was outstanding through out the match.
Later Nkwazi defender Boyd Mkandawire denied Mine Police an apparent goal in the 65th minute when he cleared a shot on the goal-line.
Nkwazi increases their tally to 28 points while Bruce Mwape’s Mine Police are now on 26 points
What about the oyher results?
There should be another league between super division and division one where nkwazi can easily fit. They re usually in and out of the premier division year after year.
