PF squabbles affecting development in Kafue district

Share

The UPND in Kafue is seriously worried at the lack of political will to upgrade the Kafue feeder roads. This has caused a lot of problems for people who transport their produce to markets in the District.

This is according to a statement issued by Everisto Pensulo UPND District Information Secretary.

The roads are so impassable that if nothing is done before the onset of rains people will face a lot of difficulties. With the late delivery of agricultural inputs, it will even be a nightmare for the farmers whose main livelihood is agriculture.

The local MP (Central Province Deputy Minister) recently commissioned earth equipment which is just lying idle rusting somewhere in some garage instead of being used to upgrade the road to some gravel standard at least. We wonder whether that’s how a government for the poor as they call themselves should operate. They seriously have no plan for Kafue District.

It is surprising that instead of working to better the lives of people the PF are just embroiled in succession wrangles.

  1. At least Rupiah managed to build roads in Kanyama central to Masuko, Chelston roads etc. We could see people working at night,

    • Unless you have now become blind you should see how many developmental projects the Govt is executing.we all know why Rupia embacked on those projects in his final minutes,we thank Zambians we still kicked that family out of Govt.Fight are over it’s development as planned we are informed.

  2. @ Chinyama
Yes a lot of projects are being executed though there is a problem. They are too many and un coordinated. You see, pf has chewed more than it can swallow. Already sustainability is becoming a problem due depleted resources.

  3. ….and Chinyama you thank Zambians for removing a family and yet you are blind to the fact that pf has replaced it with a family forest. What chances do you and me have of being allowed into this heavily guarded forest? The cold Winter is already using the forest as a cover to escape his shortcomings and rejection.

    • @jungle boy , am very objective and will admit when I see a problem, I agree PF is a little in a hurry to fulfill promises hence the strain on resources, with planning all projects will be accomplished and credit given where due, family forest have reduced and PF is working on all regions being represented in Govt as assured by Govt officials contacted last week.we proposed my region N/western should be given three more seats in Govt other regions also had their suggestions to improve inclusivness the Govt.Lets give these PF chance as rightly put by the wise chief Macha.

  4. @ chinyama, Chief Macha is a cadre just like Mpenzeni. These guys don’t just support for nothing but were there is butter.
The road projects are good but they need proper planning and resources. Currently the government has run out of resources because of unplanned projects.

  5. Banda ruled for three years, in these years, he built Ndola stadium, signed an understanding for lusaka $ Livingstone stadium, he built level Mwanawasa hospital, roads through lusaka. He built a lot of schools in remote areas and upgraded many clinics to hospitals. Meal meal was 37 Kwacha. The kwacha was stronger. Many roads were constructed, PF accused him of building roads were there are no schools, RB responded that, it was the next agenda. We had a bumper harvest, his cabinet was smaller, was also able to hold conferences. And many more development… He also had bad eggs though, like the calibre of Liato, Gabriel Nalumambe etc. we must give redit were it is due….I don’t care even if its RB projects being done, but it’s the one who implements that even deserves more credit.

  6. I cry for my Kafue! No party politics here, we all yawn for Kafue’s development… The starting point could be soundly reviving NCZ and KTCZ to their lost glory days. ONE FINEST DAY SURELY, Kafue will stand again and be able to supply D compound fertilizer to the SADC region!!!

  7. It is good that people are seeing where they never used to, hence the talking. Kafue is slowly coming to life if one cared to see the activity at NCZ and at least workers can afford a smile……..they get paid monthly. Am a resident of Kafue and agreed the PF just need to be aggressive and focused when it comes to their developmental agenda. If things continue the way they are I will surely give PF my vote.
