GOVERNMENT AND ACC MUST RESPOND TO EMERGING ISSUES WITH CLARITY
OSF calls on Government to clear the air on the status of the K14 billion loan from Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) loan owed to the Zambian people by former owners of defunct Zambian Airways and their guarantors.
This matter has remained highly divisive for Zambia and Government must urgently inform the nation on aggressive steps it intends to take to recover, with interest, what is owed to the poor Zambians.
Government must respond to reports that some circles of society have embarked on a scheme to frustrate Minister of Finance Hon Alexander Chikwanda so that once he is out of the picture; they can replace him with one former Minister of Finance who promised to write off this loan.
If there be any grain of truth in these reports, we wish to warn the schemers that this will be an exercise in futility because with or without Hon. Chikwanda as Minister of Finance, the K14 billion owed to Zambians must be paid back with accumulated interest.
Government has committed to fight corruption and this is one matter with capacity to backfire and burn many fingers if Government does not deal with it squarely and transparently.
Government must act in the interest of the nation and not appear to be protecting those who have already accumulated capital.
Further, OSF calls on Government to provide a comprehensive feedback on several issues and concerns emerging and being raised by respective stakeholders.
Zambians want to see progress on allegations of corruption within Cabinet raised by Vice President Dr. Guy Scott and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba.
The duo is either whistle blowers or concealing vital evidence which the ACC should be acting on. Government must come out categorical on this subject.
This is also a call to the ACC to inform the nation on the progress so far made on this matter in adducing corruption evidence Dr. Scott and Mr. Kabimba.
Lastly, ACC is called upon to inform the nation on progress made into the investigations around the cancelled digital migration tender. The ACC is called upon to rise to the occasion and prove that they be trusted by Zambians with the fight against corruption.
It’s time this Money is recovered we need a just society where all will be equal before the laws of the land as we are before the Creator.

PACRA will tell you that the debts of a limited liability company can only be recovered from the sale of assets of the company, NOT from assets of the shareholders. This is basic business law. But MMD’s hatred for the Post made that do silly things. So Zambian Airways debts can only be paid from the sale of Zambian airways assets under liquidation/receivership
