Mufulira Wanderers have finally escaped demotion to FAZ Division Two after enduring a forgettable 2013 Division One North campaign.
Wanderers survived relegation over the weekend after the four demotion slots in Division One North were filled by Kalewa, Mumbwa Medics, Mansa Health Stars and Bresmar United.
The legendary club spent most of the ending season flirting with relegation.
With one game to spare, Wanderers are 13th on the 18-team table with 36 points from 33 matches.
The nine-time FAZ Super League champions have so far recorded seven wins, 15 draws and 11 loses.
This is arguably Mighty’s worst Division One North campaign.
Not even the club’s decision to change coaches twice in four months improved Wanderers’ fortunes this term.
The Shinde outfit first suffered demotion in 2002 before a making a brief return to the topflight league in 2005 and were relegated the same year.
Meanwhile, Indeni and National Assembly have secured promotion back to the Super League from Division One North.
Go Mighty my beloved CLUB!!!!
soldier on Mighty, you will eventually get back to the super league
Always mighty Iwina ichungulo
fire the entire administration they are useless might was a team to reckon with.
It has been a very difficult season for the once legendary cup fighters nevertheless, lets put this behind and then draw up a programme for next season. Lets see exactly where we went wrong and rectify that. As for the top management of our club, this is a strong warning to you, put your house in order so that what happened this season does not repeat itself. We will continue supporting the team in whatever situation we find ourselves in. Come 2014 we are bouncing back to where we belong.
you sound as if you are in workshop…mwalipwafye… no wonder Kalu does not want Nkana to win..Aleisa Aleisa 72 hrs before crowning!!
I think we will win promotion next year
Its crazy for National Assembly and Indeni just crowing into and out of Super League year in year out. These teams must find a winning formular. As for Mighty there seems to organisational disabilities. How they have kept on sliding into the lower ranks is unthinkable. No more scoring in the evening.
I think there must be rules preventing such teams from straight vying for promotion after demostion (pendulum) for a certain number of times. As it is they just block some serious contenders who would give a good account of themselves in the super league – maybe, jus maybe. Infact, they are blocking other teams from being promoted and demoted from both the lower and upper leagues, which is not good. Others should also enjoy being demoted or promoted!
@ KBM. The so called serious contenders are also given the same opportunity to win promotion. They just have to win their games. You mighty also say the same to the clubs that represent us in continental competitions, they usually win the local league but booted out in first or second rounds. One thing is that they are usually the same teams. Would you sujest that we put some measures to stop them from winning the league so that they do not represent us?
Wewapwa niwe…. Kalu stopped playing a long time ago, what has he got to do with Nkana?
what can you tell me.. you surviving division 2 sure…useless club.
Still wanderers ,
Poverty striken Mighty is battling! If you do not invest in the club the results shall always be poor!
Born in Muf but still support mighty
@ kajaja, it is “Born in Muf and still support mighty” not but. ‘but’ would be used in this sentence “Born in Kitwe but still support mighy”. Just a few lessons.
Iwe Kopala..kikikikikiki!
Mighty supporters , take a leaf from ( your big brothers ) Nkana ! Nkana supporters were there through thick and thin wearing the red and white scarfs ! I can’t remember the last time I saw a green and white Wanderers scarf !
Iwe they are not our big brothers. We are older than them. No I’m sorry I think we were born same time naba Rhokana United. Remember they were Rhokana United then Rokana United then Nkana Red Devils then Nkana FC
bresmar sad.
Good ridance.
Our beloved ‘Mighty’ Mufulira Wanderers, please you selfish and bakandyamo administrators at ‘Mighty’ leave those created personal-to-holder seats cemented at Chawama. We want to be raising our Green and White flag than this embarrassing situation we are in now. Let people with the heart of ‘Mighty’ take over. Players we have but you can not keep them because your tummies come first. An assessment of ZPL teams like GBFC, Red Arrows and many more their players originate from Mufulira Wanderers. Please do something and employee a very good coach to look for players and the administrators job will be to keep them. Copy from ZESCO on who they came to ZPL from Division 1.

Guys ba Mighty whats happening to our stadium Shinde? At the end of last year it was reported that the stadium was being upgraded. Mwebekala ku Mufcane has the stadium been improved?
It is so terrible to apprehend what has befallen my beloved team Mighty. A team with the second highest number of Premier League titles, the team which has won 49 cups a record no other club in Zambia has broken up to date. A team which has produced the most footballing brothers, Nkoles, Bwalyas. Mulalas, Chellas to name but a few. I believe the problems at Shinde have been twofold. Sponsorship and club management have cost the club dearly. Hope these issues are sorted that before the next season. We are capable of bouncing back in the big league. By the way My mighty scarf still flies! Been a Mighty supporter from 1977.
I was only born the following year but I am a Mighty man. I admired the trophies in Chawama and the pictures of Zoom Ndhlovu and the Nkole brothers and KK handing cups to the boys in green!
