PRESIDENT Michael Sata has said the Bemba Traditional Council (BTC) is becoming a threat to the nation by its continued refusal to meet Government over the latters decision to instal Henry Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.

The president through his special envoy said he had given the BTC a week in which to comply with Government requirements over the contetntious matter or face stern action.

Mr Sata’s emmissary Patritiotic Front provincial secretary Everest Chela said in an interview with the media yesterday that the President was wondering why the BTC had decided to spurn the olive branch that had been extended by Government.

“The members of the BTC where expected tpday at State House at 10:00 hours but at a meeting held in Malole on Friday, they resolved not to travel to Lusaka without giving satisfactory reasons,” Mr Chela said.

The president warned the group of plus 70 councillors that make up the electoral college called Bashilubemba that if they this time did not comply, they should not blame Government when it decides to intercede and act over the matter.

[pullquote]“We wrote a leter requesting for the police to be withdrawn as it is an act of intimidation before talks of any kind are held,” Mr Mpika said. “If anything the police presence is now more heavy as it has now extended to other areas other than the palace.”[/pullquote]

Mr Sata insisted Mr Sosala would not be considered as Chitimukulu pending the time that he would be gazzetted as prescribed by law.

When contacted for comment, BTC spokesperson Washanga Mpika relayed a message from Chief Chimba who acts as regent in the abscence of the Chitimukulu that the BTC considered the deployment of police officers at the palace as an act of aggression.

“We wrote a leter requesting for the police to be withdrawn as it is an act of intimidation before talks of any kind are held,” Mr Mpika said. “If anything the police presence is now more heavy as it has now extended to other areas other than the palace.”

Asked for comment on the reason behind the ultimatum and whether the council would comply, Mr Mpika said the BTC had sat to discuss the request for them to travel to Lusaka.

The meeting then resolved the BTC would not travel as it felt it had done nothing wrong to warrant the deployment of police in its area.

Mr Mpika said BTC would meet to discuss the latest communication from the Government and later release a statement on its position.

He however, hinted that council members might travel if police presence is withdrawn.

  1. Its a threat to PF and not the nation. Infact Sata is threat to peace and stability to the nation. Sata is a big liability and tha sooner we get rid of him the better. Sata is not addin any value to Zambia

    • As a bemba I agree from.oir commander in chief let’s not start acting like tongas and lozis who exhibit thuggery characteristics from zimbabwe where there ancestors come.from

We are better than tjat5. Remember bembas can bwebtraced in 1200 year
      We own zambia

I hope we listen to.the president

      Long live mr sata

    • iwe shh.. tumfweko, ati? ati the Bemba traditional council has become national threat??… how can the national security be threatened by installation of the chitimukulu??.. i dont get it … please soulosi my brother you the one closer to PF then anyone else on this blog, please explain

    • It’s my prayer that each week that comes Sata can make a stupidd decision or at least something which does not make sense just to keep news papers intertaining other wise it would be boring

    • I am a long time supporter of PF, but let me warn my President that should you do anything to cause confusion in our respected chiefdom, be rest assured that Me, my 4 children, my 6 brothers and sisters, my father and mother will not vote for you. I mean my words.
Why should you get so much involved into this issue. Even if Sosala insulted you, there is nothing u can do since that man has the support of many. sosala is the chief and not an opposition leader. Bembas like him and u cant change that. so what do u think u are going to do? install another chief. Is the Bemba council going to accept him? and who is going to agree to be installed with support from the council? Please reconsider this move and remove police officers from the palace

    • How? How? This man is insane. I thought his cadres that are killing each other and threatening others are the real culprit here.

    • Zambia has an insane man as president, Micheal Chilufyanya Sata. I see Sata falling from grace harder than he came to power. Mark my words. Zambia and its people tebakwangalilako iyo. Ask your new found friend Kaunda.

    • The Bemba chiefdom lost respect when they started chewing utuma brown envelops from Chiluba and rupiah Banda. They were easily politicised and corrupted. Infamous, shifwile shileicindika nga shilekabila ukucindikwa. Abe Bemba been ebalanda ati ubufumu bucindika abena. Naomba cilemoneka ababemba Kwati, nabaipumbusha.

    • By the way I think respect amongst the Bemba chiefs started diminishing in the KK times when chiefs were appointed to political positions.

    • I am not surprised by Sata’s actions. Such divisiveness and controversy are what he enjoys. He is after all the master of confusion as Dr Mumba once put it. I hope those of you who are PF zealots now understand why KK, Chiluba,Mwanawasa, and Banda once said Sata is no presidential material. He is creating more anarchy unheard of in Zambia even during the colonial era.

It seems Sata is trying to dismantle our traditional authority and replace it with his Panga Fighter cadres. Very sad indeed.

His actions are beginning to worry most Zambians. Next he is going to blame HH for Bashilubemba’s defiance.

Sata should learn to listen and take advice seriously.

    • Peter @ 1.8 & 1.9, you are truly an imbecile. The so called President has confusion from the four corners of the campass and all you can do is insult my chiefs. Why are you so myiopic in your analysis? Do you understand that in most traditions in Africa, chiefs are given tributes in form of gifts which could be animals, chickens, mealie meal, flour and even money. All chiefs from Lozis, Tongas, Nsengas, Ngonis and Bembas included receive these gifts as tributes and not as corruption. They usually do not even campaign for political candidates (except a few like Kazembe in 2011). The reason is that they don’t involve themselves in influencing their subjects to maintain peace.
Now is it right for the president to involve himself in selecting chiefs through political machinations?

    • @jo and what have we done to you bembas and you can’t just find your own destiny unless a Lozi is mentioned what hypocrisy is this. We are from where? you stupid Congolese, Sata is one of you, so now let’s see how you going to settle this mess, by yourselves, there’s nothing like PF has done what and what, the majority of this party is bemba so it’s your party, it’s time for you to taste your own vomit.

    • I just feel shiver when I imagine if God decided to take Sata away in the midst of these insults of his own “original” leaders.
Abanensu Ba Sata has a white-man for adviser, who are we now to Sata?

    • JO, now we know that ba Shilubemba are very reasonable and real Zambians than you, yourself. I like the way they want to keep viable traditions. Waikuta fye myungu ya kwiba pa maliket. Lala fye. Ciza uli?

    • @on fire I mean no malice but i just thought to remind you that the Lozi initially came from the Congo in the migrations from the Congo, some of their relatives settled in Northern Zambia, and the rest of the group settled in western Zambia. It can be said that the Lozi were Bemba until the Makololo from the south came and infiltrated Barotse and the mixtures of blood and language begun. Iv studied this.. there is a European anthropologist that has done extensive research on our tribes (on us) I can’t seem to recall his name, but I have the book somewhere in my library. So these arguements that any tribe in Zambia is distinct and separate are based in ignorance and folly.. We Zambians (all 73) are more related than one may think. And the Tonga and Lenje are the oldest in Zambia.

  2. Ba Sata please ask for wisdom you desperately need like yesterday. It sounds more that you have completely lost it baba.

    • is this man becoming mad with power. is he the only zambian in this country that he is going to decide on all bembas. Let our traditional leadership run their office without interference. PF must gooooooooooooo

    • Zambia has an insane man as president, Micheal Chilufyanya Sata. I see Sata falling from grace harder than he came to power. Mark my words. Zambia and its people tebakwangalilako iyo. Ask your new found friend Kaunda.

    • MMD,UPND,NAREP or any opposition should make maximum capital out of this standoff between mad SATA and the BTC.This is the first time under the democratic dispensation of this country that a President is engulfed in quarrels with traditional leaders.During Kaunda’s time this was common. As for Sata,it looks like in every province, there is a Chief or Chiefs he has quarreled with.In some cases he claims he has hidden cameras in Chiefs bedrooms which transmit live pictures of all what takes place in the bedroom.WHAT A PRESIDENT ZAMBIA HAS FOR ITSELF???

  3. Mr TASA ..< What evr the name.. Are u trying to become Chitimukulu ?? Ain't your Presidential postion enaf ?

U're a threat to the Nation sir..

  4. Bembas have a very rich history and procedures no one shall ever delete. Kaunda and Chiluba tried but failed to divide them as decisions made at Ilafya collective.

    • @soulosi
iwe soulosi.. muzi wapya!!,, the president is shaken threatened, one murdered PF cadre corpse has been stolen and burried in secret.. and you are just looking??… i thought that you are the people at the center of PF… now you spectators.. then who are the drivers.. because your Sata is now scared threatened by Sosala..

And you know what Sosala and Soulosi.. sound like close names.. is chitimulu Sosala your Uncle???

    • Why is it that when PF blunders uloleshafye instead of making suggestions on the best way forward?

Finshi utina kanshi iwe? Uyopa chaani? Usaba king? Uyowa nzi yebo?

    • Saulosi, this is not a matter for spectators. Sata needs advise to get off the high horse and face reality. Henry Kanyanta Sosala is now Paramount Chief Chitimukulu (Mwine Lubemba) as per our customs and as prescribed by the BTC (Bashilubemba). Why should Sata decide who should become Chitimukulu? He is not part of the Bemba royal lineage. If he continues with this hank punky, he hasn’t seen nothing yet as far as the Bemba people are concerned.
Be warned not to touch the taiul of the leopard when it is naping!

    • I understand you used to be well behaved during the colonial era.The colonists had the last say who would be Chief, failure to which you would go scampering for your safety.Today we are free but that Law is still applicable today.Sosala cannot do anything for Bembaland if he is not recognized by the President as Chitimukulu.Diplomacy is the way.BaShilubemba should see sense in negotiations at State House.Intransigence can only be tragic.
It seems to me that people cannot differentiate between THE PRESIDENCY and SATA.And you are demeaning the presidency because you hate Sata. The presidency is an institution with vast powers vested in it by the current constitution.A constitution which even I,am ready to defend.Respect the presidency and by implication, the lawfully elected incumbent.

  5. Since you are permanently logged in to news portals, Kindly do a context analysis of these threads, i wish you see sense In Chinua Achebe’s 1966 novel A Man of the People, “Chief the Honorable M. A. Nanga, M.P.” calls the shots, pulls the strings, does everything for His People that a Big Man is supposed to. All the while helping himself to public money and quashing dissent. This Zambian will overcome. People across Zambia are taking control of their destiny and making critical changes from the bottom up. As President Obama put it: history is on our side as brave citizens and not with those of you who forcefully use threats or subvert people’s will to stay in power. Zambia doesn’t need strongmen, instead “but strong institutions”.

    • Great question. Let me add by saying: How many zambians feel threatened by the BTC than by PF thugs killing each and causing turmoil in the city? Soweto market is closed by Sata himself becos of his unruly cadres.

    • 47 percent of Zambian tribes are classified as the bemba grouping/clan. This includes Central, Eastern, Muchinga, Copperbelt, Luapula and Northern provinces.
The stand-off between the executive and any traditional governors is not healthy as this good be an injury to Chitimukulu is an injury to Lewanika.
The house of Chiefs should guide our President on this matter. This happened before when Kaunda forcefully installed the late Lackment Ngandu as Mwine Lubemba

    • none of us Lozi of course they think Zambia rotates around their chief. it’s their turn and let’s see the wise bembas!!!kekekekek!!!!!

    • 2016? This sounds like eons away! We have to suffer him till the end of year. Then 2014. Then 2015……… like I said eons! Am so tired……….

    • And come 2016, come to the west and we will put right back into sate house, so that you continue to end the foolish egos your tribes-mate have cultivated, because where we coming from there is no gain if he is there or not.

  6. Yakakana, yabija, yayipa nkani! Rebellion in the West, rebellion in the South, now rebellion in the North – what next? I think there is a big problem, if the rebellion involves the President’s roots – before he cut it to Muchinga. How can he fail to understand the procedures, and how can they defy their former son like that? It could be true that someone wants to bulldoze their way in this whole saga – maybe the Nkandu Luo story is true, or was true, and abandoned, but now there remains pride of the state, to humbly recognise what the BTC wants! Nice film indeed, because, even if they go to Statehouse, these guys are resolved not be bought for a meal!

  7. What is the interest of PF in this issue? Very soon we will be hearing babemba nkonko unite. Us IN UPND are watching and firmly stand as baobab tree for everyone to come and lean on when they are not strong.

  8. Zambians woke up, the constitution is very very powerful than you if let somebody decide for you, they will control you ! ! Only you can control it . Basically you are giving up your rights if you give in to Sata’s will. Know your rights.

  9. @SpectatorKalaki: TEN COPIES EXPLAINED: The president asked for only ten copies of the draft constitution because most of his cabinet cannot read.

  10. Good morning

I do not see how upholding tradition and culture can become a threat to the nation.

The president surely needs wisdom on this matter before it brings him into great disfavor, not only with the Bemba people but the whole of Zambia.

The prospects of interceding or acting over this matter in an attempt to govern the destiny of the Bemba people will cause a row the like of which this country has not yet experienced! We don’t need more trouble than we already have.

    • I didnt know that you are such wise. Ala my friend what do you expect from Sata? A foo.l of a president. Ala Sata chipuba fye.

    • @Nine chale
Am back my brother,, you see the effects of decolonisation,, presidents are now feeling threaten by traditional rulers,, so where to we take such a case?? to the commonwealth or the hague??
      hahahahahah

  11. Ba Sata must not change what our forfthers left. He came in and will go out but Chiefdom remains forever. Twakana ukutwangasha.

  12. How ironic! Bembas were at the forefront in condemning whatever RB did and could not wait to have their very own cobra at plot one, now for no reason at all the cobra is bitting them! Surely as incompetent as Ukwa is, is he that styopet to bring about confusion in his own stronghold?

    • Bembas are very neutral people. If the president is not careful, he will be disowned. It is very easy for them to shift allegiance to any leader of their choice and one thing I like abt Bembas is that they work as a team. who ever they fall for, will be supported by all every where including the CB

    • So in effect you are agreeing that collectively Bembas voted for Ukwa with his loud mouth, thuggish behaviour, populism that lacked detail and his history of violence even though RB was a much better statesman, was bringing about economic success, allowed political freedom and had a cabinet that was not bloated and was not dominated by one ethnic group? Talk about cuttig off your nose to spite your face! Am glad to see that now Bemba tribalism has hit Bembas hard where it hurts. Even the members of the council in that recording that was leaked admitted as much – they wanted Ukwa because he was one of their own despite being a well known chitongo now alas the chitongo is attacking the very institution that epitomises Bemba identity! How ironic indeed!

    • Saulosi Must say something not NDELOLESHAFYE, why kuloleshafye? Talk man and be objective!
Help the president because he may take your advice.

  13. It is very clear now that President Sata is so immature and simply incompetent. Deploying police with/and guns in a political stand-off is such a foolish reaction that simply confirm his savagery behavior. This reaction is simply disproportionate to the issue at hand, and no one expects that the BTC, trying to defend their culture and perform their traditional duties deserve to be pointed at with a gun, or that their refusal of an Invitation (for that matter) constitute a criminal offense to send 700 police to the area. Is it not the PF militia that deserve such interventions? Life has been lost in his own Party but its President seem oblivious to that fact while would turn the might of the state on an individual who is legitimately appointed by those who have the authority. Shame indeed!

  14. “The president through his special envoy said he had given the BTC a week in which to comply with Government requirements over the contetntious matter or face stern action.”

Mwalipena imwe!!! The BTC to face stern action from you sons and daughters of the devil who speak with a forked tongue and deception is your lot. Remember the later written to you by BTC with a quote, ” A nail that is not aligned with others usually gets hammered” and eventually it becomes lower than the others.

Its the president who is not only a danger but also a nuisance to the nation and the sub-region. He reasons using his mouth instead of his head! Mwefipuba! Ba sakalanyongo! Just see how ethnic identities have emerged in Zambia since the time you came into government. Change your ways PF please,…

  15. Incompetent man at the helm. While his own subjects are wielding pangas in the party, he says nothing but hustles the innocent and unarmed who are just performing their cultural and traditional duty. What have the BTC done to deserve 700 police officers. Is it a criminal offense to refuse an invitation? There is a serious problem with this man! Bembas have no guns but they can use paper and pen, come 2016!

  16. Alah, bushe te lwakwa Noah bebele, lekeni lunye nomba! This Tanzanian Nwacusa lumpen will spark war in this country and only him stands to lose real big time. Ubupuba na busakala Zondwe bwafulisha saana mu kalukobo!

  17. A mad cobra is a threat not only to animals in its environment but to its survival as well. Cycle Mata will not last.
    PF is going.

  18. I think the president needs a lot of HELP urgently, Wisdom wisdom!!! Who is a danger to Zambia? the PF Militia wielding machetes and pangas killing people everywhere OR the BTC following its traditional norms?

  19. The Panga Family which you started in Chawama under MMD 13 years ago and you have now moved it to statehouse is the threat. What Chitimukulu, its you who has brought the Bemba people into quarrels and yet you are fighting them now. What a divisive element!

  20. I see Mumba/HH and MMD/UPND doing better in this part of the country if PF is not careful. They are simply giving Mumba/HH more chances. Mumba being a good speaker will gunner more support from Bembas. HH too can capitalize on this.

  21. SATA if you do something stupid to my people, I will ask God to teach you a lesson!
Leave Bembas a lone. To be honest, very few Bembas support Sata.

The greatest problem is that within this succession race there is division within royal family. Who is supposed to become a Chiti Mukulu? From which mother? Remember we are matrilineal society. We don’t need a political solution to this problem but cultural and traditional solution capwa.

  22. What is the genesis of this stand-off? Why doesn’t Sata want Sosala to be the Chitimukulu? It is surprising that since this saga started the so called House of Chiefs is very quiet. What is the role of this House? Royal establishments must remain firm and united otherwise they will be reduced to pushovers and play things by politicians. Today Sata is against the Chitimukulu, tomorrow it will be Gawa Undi, the next day it will be Mwanachingwala, Litunga, Ndungu, Kanongesha, Kapijimpanga, Puta, etc. So Chanda Chimba III was right about this man!

  23. Jo, you really can provoke people. Fortunately, your kind are held under control by the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Zambia shall continue to enjoy peace, whether you like it or not.

Zambia is not owned by any tribe. That is rotten and dangerous thinking.

  24. @scared of his own shadow kikikikikikikikikikikiki!! awe mwebena zambia mwalikaba nomba!! one zambia one nation! let us fight for our rights!!

  25. This is part of Chiluba and MMD ‘s failure to manage his liberalization and general reforms after UNIP.He gave too much authority to Chiefs for the rural vote.Chiefs can now feel like they are small presidents and can defy a President. In this liberalized pseudo capitalist environment,a chief feels well placed to control, for his benefit, his so-called Traditional/customary land to the exclusion of the central state. Thus, we are witnessing sales of unbelievably large tracts of land to investors, strange relationships with foreign investors to the detriment of subjects and insubordination to elected authorities.Attendant to this are succession and boundary wrangles
Are we ready as Zambians for local Government?I would seriously have a re-look at this decentralization and House of Chiefs th

    • I don’t see how KK/FTJ defined your lunatic President. He simply is not presidential material because he lacks so much. Sata is not a natural leaderr but confusionist and my heart bleeds when tribalists talk of giving him more time. The damage done by this man is great. Surely how can this chintomfwa be wasting time handling chiefdom issues and ignore serious economic and constitutional challenges faced by the country?

  26. What the heck is the matter with sata? Since when did a royal establishment become a threat to national development? The BTC should stand their ground and not travel to lusaka to be bribed if sata is a subject let him travel to northern province its like sata has summoned his father to sin him this is utter disrespect let him have some manners and follow the BTC if its so important to him. However they should go ahead and coronate the chitimukulu sata can go and hang himself if he does not want sosala

  27. We bembas are brave..This dying horse is just doing its last kicks…Bemba is not chitimukulu .it includes even those bembas in the Copperbelt. We can easily eradicate President Sata..

  28. Interesting comments: only ONE blog favoured the govt’s (Sata’s) strong take on the BTC.
It is quite overwhelmingly clear that this is more a personal (ego) issue than national or tribal.
It could be the genesis or even the catalyst of more things to come.

Will the BTC be nailed with treason and therefore join the brave Barotse loyalists in court sessions??

  29. Dear All,
Edith Nawakwi, Charles Milupi, Ngandu Mangande, Hakahinde Hichilema, Nevers Mumba, Elias Chipimo, Dan Pule, Cosmos Mumba, Sakwiba Sikota, Godfrey Miyanda,
George Mpombo, Frank Bwalya, Mike Mulongoti.
Could you please find time and chance to find a lasting solution to many problems facing our beloved country, just to name a few.
    1. Political violence
    2. Draft constitution
    3. Stand-off between the Executive and Bashi Lubemba.
You are in a better position to help the country, donot see it as PF problem, this will have negative effect to you as well

  30. Ufetuhezi ba habo kajenu. Ki sitoto sa mina ma Bemba. Si ka mi bonisa sipulumiki sa mina. Esi nomu bulela kuli “lekeni Sata ateke”!

  31. BA SHILUBEMBA, TEKWESHA UKUYA KU STATE HOUSE. YOU WILL BE POISONED BY THE SNAKE THROUGH FOOD AND DIE SLOWLY LIKE FROM SOME FORM OF A DISEASE. THE MAN FROM TANZANIA CALLED SATA IS FULL OF VENGEANCE. HE WILL LEAVE THE COUNTRY ON FIRE AND RUN AWAY. WATCH HIM CLOSELY. PANGA WIELDING CADRES ARE SAINTS AND THE MWINELUBEMBA IS A THREAT. VERY SHAMEFUL.

  32. Zambia has a C.H.I.P.U.B.A. for a president. The PF machete thugs are now a threat to the nation and this C.H.I.K.A.L.A voices out saying the BTC. Chanda Chiimba 3 warned us, we never wanted to take heed. Lets continue enjoying the change we all voted for;
    – more money in pockets
    – lower taxes
    – lower commodity prices
    – jobs
    Ni donchi kubeba for sure

  33. Which nation is being threatened? Sata is president of Zambia and should leave traditional chiefs alone. He is behaving as if PF government wlll not come to un end. Is PF the stone that came from nowhere and hit the feet of King Babylon stature? If not why waste time. Next govt will recognise the Chitimukulu.

  34. Mark my wrds, umo akashala nemicheni pali ililyashi. Bashilubemba stand strong no mata wat-ngalefyaya ukumipaya mufwilepo

  35. Can’t wait to see how this one plays out… Sata against his own people, me licking and biting my lips.

When he turned against the Lozis and their Litunga at one time, they said these Lozis, ‘kabiyeni’, get lost already. You closed your independent mindset.

Now look at the preceding comments, now that their ‘great man’ has touched on a soft spot. He is already splattered with insults and he hasn’t even started locking up any of their people in jails. Wait until he starts shooting your own people and arresting them without trial.

What goes around, comes around. Usually when vultures are done feasting on their carcass, they tend to turn on each other.More popcorns please!

    • This is a much more straight forward case than the restoration of BA’64. So our Lozi friends are not comparing like with like.

  36. The Bemba bloggers on this site are ridiculously amazing, almost 99.999% of them are united in condemning their fellow Bemba Sata for his stand on the Bemba chiefs.
The same bloggers including Nine Chale sung songs of praise and encouragement to Sata and GBM for the terror they continue unleashing on the defenceless Lozis. This ongoing showdown between Sata and the chiefs will be more protracted and interesting as it is Bemba vs Bemba.
Some cynics may argue to say the two issues are different but I say to them these are the same in the sense that both The Lozis and the Bembas are fighting for their birth rights, Ok. We are watching closely now that ultimatums are being issued.

    • My point exactly… the double standard and hypocrisy are astounding! Just look at the unison of comments and insults and yet not any single one of them came to the defence of those poor Lozis, that include a disabled man. if only people could be checking their conscience, they would tell they are no different from Sata himself. A fair person condemns anything wrong regardless of the ethnicity of the victim. I say this country will never develop as long as ‘wako-ni-wako’ mentality exists.

For the record, I condemn Sata for interfering with the traditional affairs of the Bemba people. The threats he is issuing are unwarranted

    • I am glad you also recognise the likes of Nine Chale for what they really are – bigotted tribalists who think the Bembas are the chosen people. The only time they have criticised Ukwa is now regarding this Chitimukulu issue – when he is busy oppressing other non-Bemba Zambians they clap their dirty hands in encouragement and call us ‘bitter’. Their tribaism, sense of entitlement and superiority is such that they went with their own pens to the polling booths to ensure that Ukwa despite his obvious mental deficits would become the president of Zambia. For them, any Bemba even a psychopath like Ukwa is better than any other Zambian ethnic group including their so-called cousins from the east. Now the beast they have unleashed on all of us has turned against them and now they are up in…

    • These are two differect issues, what those in Western province committed is treason (the law is very clear on whoever declares independence, with or without BA64), Sata even tolerated you guys for long time

    • “…These are 2 different issues…”. Yes they are different because the Lozis issues are clear violations of human rights and almost fall under the category of crimes against humanity. As such they must be condemned by any well balanced and progressive people. What treason, you must be one of them brain-washed by the same guy who is now turning against you. Did you know the same Sata actually endorsed the advocacy for the restoration of the BA’64. This is a very genuine and legitimate document, perhaps more legitimate than the current Constitution of Zambia on so many levels.

They are different, but they are in fact the same; the fact you are all condemning Sata for merely opening his mouth through a 3rd party emissary while approving the Lozis injustices just proves your…

  37. Thats what happens when you think 11,999 of the population is dull and only one, being you, is the only one with the brains. Mr President stubbornness destroys. Please listen to advice.

  38. Mr President. You big fox! You brave coward! You are the biggest threat to the natiion’s peace. You allow your cadres to wield machetes and terrorise innocent lives. You are quiet when the nation asks you to speak out and correct these evils. You are Zambia’s biggest mistake.

    • We need a revolution or a super typhoon that will knock the big head off this fool’s body.MCS………we believed you were the champion of the poor and a man of Action!!!!
      You are IMPOTENT…..literally and rhetorically.

  39. Never again will the sane people of this country vote for another mad Bemba Pres. Ukwa, through and through! Lishilu ili!

  40. Chanda Chimba was a true prophet in the run towards the 2011 general elections and now he is vindicated, you were warned that vote Sata @ your own risk but you were too excited to listen.I think the late president mwanawasa knew what he was saying when he said,’Zambians forget too easily”.I beseech you all especially youths to vote wisely even in the bye elections we are having now and 2016.

  41. Our government is becoming ludicrous in its dealings with national issues.
Why can’t they sort out their political impasse within the PF and let the installation of Chiefs to respective tribes, providing there’s no violence or threat to public peace?

There are issues of a slain PF member and his family’s need to put the matter to rest, and there is the Constitution needing the attention and action of President Sata.
Hopefully we are not in a situation of “Baselita Chanda balelila icilimba bafilwa ukulisha”.

  42. Fights among cadres, fights among ministers, fights with traditional leaders, fights with the media, fights with opposition rallies, fights against the constitution! There are casualties in all these fights and 2016 is approaching. Stop these fights please

  43. Spare the President. It is not him who has said these words. It’s his emissary who has said these words and we all know how English is a problem for majority of Zambians: I don’t think he even realised what he was saying until now when it is reported.

This is simply a matter of wrong choice of words due to a terribly limited vocabulary. That is why I keep emphasising that PLEASE stop talking too much in fi-local languages everywhere. It is now making even adults become very illiterate, here is an adult with an English vocabulary of a 5 years old kid in the UK or US. Fyakuiletelela! Start reading books please.

    • Why hasn’t your stupid and lunatic president given a rebuttal? For your own info, the country now knows the dirty tricks of Sata. He just has no BALLS to tell the truth. He is always undecided until he sees where the wind is blowing then he comes out seemingly as though he was always with the people. We don’t deserve such a pathetic Commander-in-chief

  44. When MCS instructed members of Defence force at a pass out parade to sort out Lozis you were laughing. “When a Lozi says fale, fire”, “ki fa fire!” some bloggers were amused because the reference was to Lozis’.

Manje mwa zionela ka. Chaona munzako capita maba cili pali iwe!

  45. “Tatina aba Maka tutina aba Mano” this was a common defense the young and intelligent class member of Group A of a primary class would give to a dull and bully member from group D. The PF and their symbol or Philosophy- “PAMAKA” would be interpreted as lack of intelligence.
There’s too much antagonism and bullish in political governance today than ever before. In 2 years PF has been in power, the president has quarreled with Chiefs Nshindi, Jumbe. Mwata Kazembe. late Chitimukulu, 4 – 5 chiefs from Eastern, Litunga. Now is the Mwine Lubemba.
This scenario must be taken to our Universities and be researched on by our Industrial Psychologists and their findings be made public now so that we can know how to relate with president. Our president is too much of an extrovert hence needs…

  46. Chiti Chiti chamutunga umunwe muliso cha mulenga no mona kupopa! Ng’andu yamina kabwe. Chungu cha nkonde icishuminwa kasuba! Ala alalalalala! Chiti Mukulu umubemba!

  47. President just say Disrespected instead of threatened, they declined your offer to meet. move on there are other pressing matters than installation of a chief.

  48. Dear fellow bloggers, please excuse my ignorance on this issue – PF govt vs BTC. I have some questions:

    1. What exactly has Mr Sosala (the Chitimukulu in waiting) done for the govt to refuse to gazette him?

    2. If the BTC went ahead to install him as paramount chief without the blessing from the govt, what would be the ramifications on him as an individual and on the BTC?

    3. Are senior traditional chiefs in Zambia entirely dependent on the govt for their personal upkeep?

    4. Is it possible that MCS personally, has some ‘beef’ against the Chitimukulu?

I will very much appreciate mature and civil responses – no insults please! I just want to keep in touch with what’s happening in my country of origin.

    Thanks in advance.

  49. To our Lozi friends, I think what is happening between Sata and the BTC is a blessing in disguise. Sata will soon lock up the BTC including Mwine Lubemba and he will be disowned and despised by Bembas. He will therefore turn to our Lozi brothers and sisters and agree to the restoration of BA’64 in return for their support !

    • In your dreams, the president will sort out what’s cutting.leave my Lozi cousins out of this and concentrate on your regional misunderstanding.

  50. Even chiluba was better than this ugly old sata(nic) man. A real Dictator who cant even hold a press conference and now wanting to hold sway over traditional matters. Come 2016, kuyabebele mudala!

  51. Paramount chief Mpazeni always ‘insulted’ RB in his eternal support but RB never de-gazetted that chap, why can’t Sata also embrace people that have crossed paths with him?

  52. @Pio. Zambia’s classification of tribes by CSO is terribly wrong. Take a look at the 210 questionnaire. It is about what languages you speak or what tribe do you think you are. You yourself are alluding it by the list of provinces you list. There are no bembas in Central or CB provinces but there are bembas speakers in these regions. So, does zambia constitute 40% plus people who speak bemba? very likely. However, does Zambia’s population constitute 40% plus bembas? absolutely not. My estimation are that Bembas are about 18% including those from intermarriages.

    • Even though am still reviewing the CSO Census methodologies and others of their publications, and my findings are only preliminary,I am tending to agree with you.

  53. President is either surrounded by a clique of bad advisors or he is the worst living Dictator on the African continent. The Bemba Traditional Council has been in existence before Sata and KK were born.

President Sata ascended to power due the support of the Bembas. If we are to reflect on what his mentor (KK) experienced with the Lenshina uprising and the impact of Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe’s UPP on KK’s regime, Ba Sata should review his political limitations and importance to this nation.

  54. Just been reading the Post online regarding the court appearance of the amazingly brave barotse land compatriots. They are very effectively using the court room to bring to the fore the much talked about yet downplayed/ignored matter of the BA64.
Reminds one of similar sentiments evoked by Neslon Madiba Mandela during the Rivonia trial!
Most interesting days ahead in court, small wonder the court is always fully packed.
So this matter, as I have always believed, simply won’t go away.
They are even demanding the Dr Roger Chongwe Commission Report, mmmm the human spirit is difficult to break sometimes!

  55. Fiercely Tribal – Even within the tribalism, there is more mischief. The idea here is elevate the Mpika Bembas to a higher level…

  56. ZP, number 1 to comment- I agree with you. Sata is the biggest threat to the stability, peace and even unity of Zambia. With his arrogance he is making ordinary Zambians militants and they might revolt or even secede from Zambia.
Sata will be gone within a few months but he is leaving behind injured pride, dignity and self-respect of many.

Impeach him now and get rid of him before it is too late,
As for Jo (number 1.1)- Don’t bring in tribe. There is nothing in tribe here. You are a hired gun of Sata and PF. No amount of divide and rule will work. Zambians are not naive.
Wake up my friend lest it be you who PF militia will first attack before masses descend on Plot 1 Independence Avenue.

  57. People have spoken am sure the president has heard,BTC has been in existance before sata’s forefathers and ll still remain , political interferance in this issue is dangerous or is it that sata has his own choice. Please sort out these panga welding thugs disturbing peace and leave the un armed tradition leaders perform there task

  58. I hear Sata wants a Bisa Chief to be installed Chitimukulu. THis same Chief is NKandu Luo’s brother. But the BTC are wiser. There is no need for the meeting at State House. Panga welding and half naked cadres want a meeting at state house to resolve the Kabimba issue but the President is more interested in a Bisa becoming Chitimukulu. BTC hold firm.

    • I can see ZWD propaganda at work despite articles written by the likes of Mr Mucheleka (MP for Lubansenshi) and others. Sata is not trying to install a Bisa chief as Chitimukulu as ZWD is claiming but he want to make Chief Chewe of Chinsali as Senior Chief Nkula and eventually as Chitimukulu. Chief Chewe is not Bisa but Bemba through and through. Chief Chewe is a PF cadre and from the Ngoshe Mukulu clan. A chief from Ngoshe Mukulu clan is not recognised by Bashi Lubemba and therefore can not become Chitimukulu. Please do your research before you make statements and by the way I am not a PF supporter nor do I even like Sata.
