Mwale toasts Nkana triumph

Share

Nkana coach Masauso Mwale says winning the 2013 FAZ Super League title was not easy.

The Wusakile outfit secured their 12th league title on Sunday after thumping Red Arrows 4-1 in their final league match at Nkana Stadium.

Mwale noted that runners-up Zesco United, who finished two points below Nkana, gave his side a good run.

“Zesco put up a good challenge but God’s time is the best,” he said.

Mwale expressed joy over Nkana’s achievement.

“It is always good to win the league. It’s sweet it‘s wonderful we have come a long way, from game one we have been there and we couldn’t have afforded to lose it today,” he said.

The Chipolopolo assistant trainer dedicated the crown to club supporters and God.

“Firstly, I want to dedicate the league to the supporters, they have been wonderful and God was cardinal in this, my wife and my children,” Mwale added.

This is Nkana’s first league title in 12 years.

“There are better things coming at Nkana.”

Nkana won the league with 59 points, two above runners-up Zesco whose 1-0 victory over Nchanga Rangers on Sunday did little to help them win the league.

  2. Zesco please don’t talk too much, You have brought shame to Zambian football in terms of continental competitions. You have never gone to the level of quarter finals. Look at Nkana’s cv in this regard and your will see your size. We [Nkana] are not your size you are just too small.
