Festus Mbewe warns Cosafa opponents

Striker Festus Mbewe has cautioned teams taking part in the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya against underrating Zambia.
Zambia cruised to the quarterfinals on Thursday after thumping Somalia 4-0 in their final Group B fixture in Nakuru.

Mbewe said Zambia has the potential to reach the final.

The Nkana striker who has so far scored three goals at the Cecafa Cup was cheered by Zambia’s qualification to the quarterfinals.

“I am happy that we have qualified to the quarterfinals and am looking forward to scoring more goals,” Mbewe said.

He added:”Zambia is a team that should not be underrated it’s a big team it’s a big country and we are expected to reach the final.”

In the quarterfinals, Zambia is expected to battle one of the two best losers from the group stage.

    • Why you blame LT? Let Festus Mbewe shine and warn whoever he wants, being COSAFA, World Cup or CAF, he is the top scorer. Festus deserves and erected ego!!

  2. Some tornaments! How come teams play in playing fields which look like they have been covered with wet anthill soil.
