Chitotela gives Chifungula 48hrs to clear allegations of a CDF fraudulent deal

Pambashe Member of Parliament Ronald Chitotela has threatened to sue Auditor General Anne Chifungula if she does not within 48 hours clear him of allegations that he subjected constituency development funds to an alleged fraudulent deal when he bought a second hand Toyota Land cruiser for his constituency.

Mr Chitotela has told Q-News that he is writing to the Office of the Auditor General demanding clarification on the Matter.

Mr. Chitotela says failure to provide evidence by the Auditor General will result in a legal suite, stating that her statement has injured not only his reputation but also his family and his constituency.

Mr. Chitotela who is also Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security has questioned whether the matter is politically motivated thereby wondering why the Auditor General’s Office which is professional institution failed to verify information before taking it in the public domain.

He says he is shocked by the Auditor General’s statement that there were irregularities in procurement of ambulances.

Effort to get a comment from Mwansabombwe Member of Parliament Rogers Mwewa who has also been named in the same matter proved futile as his mobile phones went unanswered.

    • FTJ case. Sue auditor general? digging your own grave. The procedure was not followed then you gone 6 feet in the grave. anti DM

    • These threats culture, everyone want to act like Sata.
Rodgers Mwewa atumpa umwaiche kanshi, I just heard that he never meet or greet with Mwata Kazembe.
Fire them all, we need by-erection.

    • PF members are never prosecuted even if they are corrupt. Look at Masumba , his seat was not nullified and yet he was convicted of corruption .

It seems Sata has hatched a dirty scheme to only nullify opposition members’ seats even when the MP have not been convicted of any crime so as build numbers in parliament.

If this trend continues then all opposition Mps should resign at once so that new elections are held.

    • they never take time to read and procedure to them is only when it suits them. Suing the Auditor General will surely weaken one of the last few truly independent institutions in this country.

    • SIMUSA BOUGHT SECOND HAND GRADER FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PEOPLE OF CHINGOLA.WHY NOT BUY AN AMBULANCE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PEOPLE.

    • or even a tipper or a helicopter no he should have bought a bulldozer ah ah it should have been a Boeing 777 becoz they don’t have one…

    • Bufi….! And what about these second hand earth moving equipments that most councils or municipalities are buying using CDF to pave roads in their districts? Are these councils not GRZ institutions? Which govt rules are you talking about..eeh?

  1. This is power reporting, why should Rogers Mwewa be mentioned in a different matter of Hon. Chitotela. This is HH and convicted corrupt Richard Sakala engineering all this lies. Hard-core criminals are using ZWD and LT to justify their corruption act and never ready to admit or apologize.

  2. Only Kolwestans implicated!
I hate these thieving monkeys who won’t even know what they did was wrong!
    Your days are numbered!

  3. Its very unfortunate for our two members of parliament Chitotelwa and Mwewa to dip their fingers in CDF – the only resource available for our people to actualize their aspirations for better lives. We voted for you to bring development to our constituencies. Our votes gave the you the platform to be candidates for cabinet positions and the president have elevated you to these positions. Instead of appreciating the poor people who voted for you by serving them, you have decided to steal from them. And you call yourselves leaders!! If what the Auditor General is saying is true- and I have no reason to doubt her -then you are cursed!! I have seen that ramshackle of over-used Toyota Hiace which Mwewa bought in Kazembe, it is shameful thing to do for person addressed as Honourable

  4. His threat is a sign of corruption itself. Especially as a member of Government (….led by a man with a supposed “allergy” to corruption!), the “honourable” MP should say that he welcomes the investigation and looks forward to clearing his name! Instead he tries to bully his way around as PF and intimidate a legally constituted agency from doing its job. Shame!

And serious…. is buying a car is the best thing this joker can think of to do with CDF money?

Transport may be a problem, but how about irrigation, crop storage, pit latrines, school desks, or maybe 100 or so of those bicycle driven “Zambulances” to help his constituents get to the clinic? All would seem better than car keys in the hands of Mr. Chitotela’s personal cadres!

  5. Rogers Mwewa is a very pompous person. So he has been surviving on stolen funds? …this life….yaba….him and his wife…both thieving people. His wife has also been suspended as PS for stealing Government funds. Ninshi you guys you look successful on funds looted from Government? Hope you will still be pompous in jail.

  6. See a bemba name and know corruption and thieving are involved, just move on when the northerners and luapulans are mentioned. Last month an easterner was awarded best scientist, this month a northerner is suing the only working government head, the auditor general.
