2014 should be about reconciliation

As MMD youths, we wish to send our Christmas and end year message to all Zambians in the 10 provinces of this beautiful country and our colleagues in the diaspora.

We should use this opportunity of the holiday season to reflect on the Christian values of love, tolerance and peace.
This holiday season should help us reconnect with our families and extend the love to our brothers and sisters.

For us as MMD youths, we have adopted reconciliation as our theme for 2014 and beyond. We hope to use this theme to reach out to our colleagues in the opposition and even those that are governing us.We are extending an olive branch to other young politicians to join us on our march to meaningful politics that will add value to people’s lives.

We believe politics should be the vehicle we use to bring about an improvement in people’s livelihoods.
As political leaders, we have a duty to exhibit mature leadership that will inspire the next generation of politicians.
Let us use this holiday season to bury our differences and embrace that which brings us closer and that is the genuine desire to move Zambia forward.

We further wish to denounce the growing tribal inclinations in Zambian politics. Let us emulate our founding fathers who desired that Zambia should remain a nation of peace and unity in diversity.

Politicians that seek to win public support using the tribal card should be condemned in the strongest sense and should never be given space in Zambian politics.

In 2014, our demand for a new constitution driven by the people aspirations will continue. As Zambia enters the year of the Jubilee, we appeal to President Sata to call for a roundtable discussion with all opposition party leaders to resolve the issues that are afflicting Zambia.

We believe that a roundtable discussion will also help diffuse the growing tension in the nation.

  2. You can’t reconcile with the likes of ba PF because there’s no reconciliation with an abuser.Thats like reconciling with Idi Amin.

  3. I wish all of you happy holidays and the best of 2014! Oh, and LT, you may wish to me moderate my posting as usual.

  4. Happy Hopllidays folks! Lets make 2014 a year of greater achievements and forget about the wrangles we’ve had in 2013!

  5. Reconciling would have been a better path to take, but where is the party to reconcile with? Definitely not with a bufi party…
