Faz: Back Nkana and Zesco

FAZ has appealed to fans to rally behind Zambia’s envoys in continental competitions Nkana and Zesco United.

Nkana will participate in the CAF Champions League while Zesco are Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup.

FAZ vice-President Boniface Mwamelo said he expects local fans to support Nkana and Zesco as they participate in CAF competitions.

“We expect all the 13 million Zambians to support the two teams,” he said.

“When Zesco and Nkana go out on these assignments they are representing the nation and not their clubs or sponsors.
He is hoping that the two teams would perform well in their respective outings.

“As FAZ we have been disappointed with the peformance of our representatives in CAF games in the last three years so we want a change to that this year,” Mwamelo added.

Nkana will kickoff their Champions League campaign with an away preliminary match against Mbabane Swallows in Swaziland on February 9.
Zesco are on bye in preliminary round of the Confederation Cup.
