FAZ Super League sponsor MTN Zambia has announced that 2013 league
champions Nkana will be crowned on 12th February 2014 at a ceremony in
Kitwe.
In a statement issued on Monday, MTN Zambia Chief Marketing Officer
Clement Asante said Nkana will be crowned at the 2013 MTN/FAZ League
awards ceremony in Kitwe.
“The awards were moved to 2014 because we had to factor in a number of
logistics including moving the awards ceremony from Lusaka to Kitwe,”
said Asante.
Meanwhile, MTN Zambia has described the MTN/FAZ Super League as competitive.
“We have seen the resurgence of soccer powerhouses in the Midlands,
Copperbelt and other regions. The title chase for the 2012 and 2013
seasons gave impetus to the league with mouth watering games that
spelt nothing short of thrilling,” Asante said.
“We are also proud of the local league’s contribution of players to
the national team. MTN Zambia feels our local players can perform in
any league and at any level in the world owing to the experience they
have acquired in the recent past,” he added.
And Asante said MTN Zambia will continue to support football through
various initiatives as a way of giving back to the community.
This is just total bullsh*t to say the least. If it was one of Kalusha’s prefered teams that won the league, this thing would’ve been done and dusted by now…Just because its Nkana!!! Mwanya na next season tule wina…..
I thank MTN 4 Sponsoring da League, keep it up.Consequently, crowning Nkana as Champions on 12/02/2014 wen it shud hav been done sam tym back is quite annoying en demotivating.Such decisions r bringing down/lowering da standards of football in our Nation,Zambia.Sharp Konkola Blades 4 lyf!
