OPPOSITION MMD leader Nevers Mumba has said the biggest alliance the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) should be afraid of is not political parties joining forces but the Zambian people joining hands to vote against it in the 2016 elections.

Dr Mumba said the alliance to remove PF from power would be that of people and not political parties.

He said this in Kitwe yesterday when he visited his Victory Ministries Church in Parklands area where he delivered a sermon.

Dr Mumba said in an interview after the Church service that the biggest alliance PF should be afraid of is that of people getting together in 2016 to change government and not political parties joining forces.

He said MMD’s goal at the moment was to demonstrate to the electorates that the party was committed to do what is good for the nation.

“If forming an alliance comes to the greater good of the nation, then we as MMD will not shy away,” he said.

Dr Mumba said criticisms about alliances not working would always be there but that what was important is for political parties to remain focused.

And on people on condemning calls for an alliance on grounds that it was being mooted with the sole idea of unseating government, Dr Mumba said he found it pointless for one to criticise formation of an alliance if they were not interested in joining.

“PF must go and if it means coming together to achieve that then we must do that and come 2016, PF is going because they have failed in every areas of providing goods and services,” Dr Mumba said.

And ealier in his sermon drawn from the book of Romans 12 verses 1 to 2, Dr Mumba emphasized the need for people to undergo transformation of mind in order for to serve God’s purpose for them.

Dr Mumba however said it was difficult for one to be transformed unless they took a risk of faith because transformation demands for that.
