Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba has bragged that he is more popular in the Patriotic Front than in any other political party.
Speaking to Journalists this morning shortly after his wife Chama and daughter Thandiwe were questioned by Police at Woodlands Police Station in connection with the contract to supply poles to ZESCO, Mr Mwamba who himself was questioned by Police yesterday said no one should doubt his popularity in the PF.
Mr. Mwamba who asked if the Post Newspapers reporters were among the Journalists said the newspaper should also know that he is very popular without any doubt.
And Mr. Mwamba says he is ready to take his seat on the back bench as Parliament resumes sitting this afternoon.
Mr Mwamba quit his government position as Defence Minister over the deadlock surrounding the recognition of Henry Kanyanta Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba Speaking by government.
And Mr Mwamba says he harbors no grudge against his former deputy Minister Davis Mwila who attacked him for the manner he resigned from government.
Mr Mwamba who was asked how he feels that he will be sharing the same bench with Mr Mwila in Parliament said the onus is upon Mr. mwila to be friendly to him or not.
Meanwhile Police have recorded two warn and caution statements from the directors of Arizona Marketing and Distribution company.
Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda has confirmed to Qfm News that the statements have been recorded from Mrs Chama Mwamba and Thandiwe Mwamba.
And speaking after emerging from the interrogation, Mrs. Mwamba said the questioning went on well.

I believe that a public altercation with PF is tantamount to arguing with a fool. People will have a problem distinguishing between the two. By now almost everyone knows that PF is nothing to write home about. If I were him, after realising this bitter truth, I would sever all ties with the discredited party. Indeed the fact that he has limited school education must be in issue if it comes up here. And since it is his parents who left it for him to grow it means a lot. However have you ever known a person who doesn’t deliver supplies but demands to be paid? Have you ever known a person who ‘delivers’ a product and yet gets paid as if it were delivered twice. Oh what business growth is there in intimidating and firing procurement officers when they try to distribute payments but you greedily take all. GBM has chosen a course he must now live with it.

Kasama Central is unforgiving, I hail from Kasama and I understand the politics of Kasama. In Kasama people use this saying ‘ umusunga wachipuba baunwa elyo chipenene.’ Meaning if you want to drink porridge for the mad man drink it when the mad man is mad completely. The saying don’t ukubeba is known very much in Kasama as far as UNIP times. First it was the late Walinkonde quite hard working MP Who made Kasama develop as MP/governor. People made him feel untouchable and likeable. The late Daniel Kapapa won the election with a big margin and that was the end. Kapapa was popular and a business man like GBM lost elections to PF and I have got a strong feeling that GBM should not sorely judge his popularity on a small data. Like in my previous postings, I still wonder if the reason advanced by GBM to give up the ministerial post was the ‘cake’ or the ‘icing’. In Africa, Zed in particular, it is very difficult to draw a line between the Govt and the ruling party…so if the reason for GBM resignation from govt post is because of the govt’s hostility towards banshilubemba, I don’t think the party PF has a different stance from the govt. The same reason GBM could have disassociated himself from PF.
But hold it, there are two folds why he must not resign from PF yet….
1) his resignation from govt post has cost us nothing…… resigning from PF will
2)govt post allegiance was to the president while his MP post is to Kasama electorate

But the manner in which he resigned without prior notice to the appointing authority, and publicly playing to the gallery and divulging phone coversation with the president to uninformed audience constitutes disloyalty. He actually declared that given the choice between his job and Kanyanta Sosala he chose Kanyanta Sosala because blood is thicker than water. This literally means that Sata and his government did not matter much. Implicitly GBM not only resigned as Minister of defence but also renounced Sata and his PF government.

I’m not the best political analyst but I don’t think it is a wise thing to talk about one’s popularity. A tiger does not proclaim it’s tigritude and a lion does not have to roar for people to believe that it’s a lion.
Now that investigations hv resumed on Gbm. Are we also likey to see Winter Kabimbaz issue which the ACC closed up reopen in same fashion as of GBM. Just asking for clarity
Politics is indeed a funny game. I would be interested to hear from political commentators about what is happening to GBM and Zambia at present. Dr. Ng’oma and Dr. Simuntanyi what are your comments regarding the political happenings in PF right now? From where I am standing, I think the resignation of GBM from his Ministerial position and PF was something to expect. GBM went around endorsing Sata and possibly mistakenly or rightly thought Sata was with him. He failed to see that Sata was under hostage and when Sata chose Kabimba instead of him, he felt betrayed. The resignation was therefore long overdue and was going to come one way or other. Watch this space for more drama from Sata, GBM and the Cartel. Which side are you on? The opposition should not be fooled on this.
