President Michael Sata has been advised to show leadership by not answering to every attack on his health from opposition leaders in the Country.

The Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) is of the view that despite people in the country having concern over his health, President Sata should not react to every statement coming from the opposition.

In today Sunday’s edition of the tabloid Newspaper, the Post President Sata is quoted to have responded to opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema after the opposition leader allegedly commented on the Head of State’s health.

CPD Executive Director Neo Simutanyi said that the Head of State should not lower himself to a level of responding to such comments from the opposition.

Dr. Simutanyi said that President Sata should concentrate on addressing issues that are of national concern.

The CPD Executive Director has told Qfm news in an interview that President Sata should address issues that are being raised on the governance of the country and not necessary comments from the opposition political parties.

Yesterday, President Sata said that it was UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema who is sick and not himself.

Speaking at Muwanjuni Primary School when he addressed a rally, President Sata said any leader who wishes another leader to die is not fit to lead.

“People are saying I am sick, it is Hakainde who is sick because he doesn’t know where he comes from and he doesn’t know who his father is,” said President Sata.

In response to Mr Sata’s comment, Mr Hichilema said that he was fine and added that being sick was a normal thing.

“To be sick is normal and is human. With God’s grace, I’m fine. The day when I get ill, I will seek medical attention and will ask Zambians to pray for me. There is no need for one to hide or be ashamed of illness,” said Hichilema.

  1. It is up to the aggrieved to clear the air using all available resources, including the media. In actual fact, character assassination or libelous comments about an individual are justiciable actions. I would not encourage HH to continue shadow fighting. I would recommend concentrating and focusing on national development in terms of policies and implementations.

    • Well we are really looking forward to hear the aggrieved(Sata) to address a press conference and be open to his goings and comings.Having said that when Zambians are aggrieved and try to voice their concerns we are insulted from the highest office (if lucky) worse imprisoned with trumped up charges.

    • Your sa-ta-nzanian has no clue. He now seems to blame the opposition over his self caused confusions and problems. Posterity is surely judging him and Pathetic First(PF) harshly because of their undemocratic mannerism.
Even grade ones know the lies of PF cadres tribal group.

    • Now me am starting wonder who is accually under five.. if HH is `laughing` at Sata`s sickness/illnes and Sata is `laughing` at HH, because HH does know who is father is. Both cases are childish and st.upid. and the older chap looks even more st.upid!!

    • @Ndobo you right. Its like me looking for friend Saulosi, we don’t know if he is sick. We just want to help him with a fundraiser, but if he comes out to talk about my father, kuti namuponwena pa bantu.

    • The issue of whether Sata is sick is a real issue that every citizen should be concerned about. The office of the president is very strenous and we cant afford to have a president who just sleeps at state house and only seen when swearing in relatives and friends. State house cannot be turned into a hospice. We need a healthy president who will be in a position to carry the heavy load of that presidency. We dont also need a paranoid head of state.

    • @Nubian princess

Are missing some healing from your man? Why such frustration and not saying anything at all?

Ba Simutanyi you are right to expose Sata and his PA that they are literally behaving like thugs.

    • This interesting, l thought hh knew his father but disowned him for rastling his cattle for the man was well known for that act. Why didn’t hh just give his father some cows n maintain the relationship? This becoming confusing to me.

    • Folks,

Sata today told Katuba people that his father is a Mr Langford Mubanga Chanda. Now this begs the question; So where did get the surname Sata if his father is Chanda? There is only one Sata and his children in Zambia, but you can find thousands of them in Tanzanian Ugandan border area. Or if he is not using his father name, then he is a bastard himself just like many of his innocent children.

The truth always finds its own ways of coming out!

Is Kaseba back you people? If not then they have differed during the fake holiday.

    • How I wish pipo looked at SATA in totality; He called for MEDICAL board to examine L.P Mwanawasa when LPM was ill, so let pipo talk about him also. Coming to children knowing their Fathers, some of the many pipo who do not know their fathers are M C Sata’s children. He has produced with an uncountable number of women, Sata has children in all the 10 provinces of Zambia and maybe even in every district even the newly created one are for honouring his un known children.

  2. It’s so refreshing to know we have intelligent and sane people in Zambia like this Neo Simutanyi.I’m so sick and tired of hearing the Presidential nonsense everyday. PF /Sata are the worst thing that ever happened to Zambia.

  3. Would not cross the road to listen to this guy-he fed us a daily diet of false opinion polls in 2011 showing RB winning by a landslide-he needs to fall on his face and ask for forgiveness if we are to take him seriously

    • Don’t expose your dullness here. An opinion poll is nothing but a prediction based on interviewing a sample of voters. It can either be right or off the mark. In America only one opinion poll correctly predicted Obama’s victory over Romney state by State and by what margin. This is was some guy called Nathaniel Silver or Nate Silver. So does it mean that people should no longer listen to Gallup, RCP, IPSO simply because their last opinion polls were off the mark? Too many !diots in Zambia , me thinks!

  4. This is CHUMBU MUSHOLOLWA, in my born and bred environment it is ‘SA KUMVA ANAMVELELA NKWANGWA ILI MTU. (the unadvisable only realize when its too late)

How does a head of state abandon national duties abroad to come and respond to a citizen at home? That explains his ‘UKUKASAWULA’ on national issues. Any capacity to learn?, doubtful.

  5. I thought mr sata had enough experience.how can one understand how he finds energy to campaign in public but refuses to have a press conference where he can answer questions from zambians on the affairs of the nation.we deserve answers and normality

    • Running away from his shadow of pathological lies. 3 years no conference but he’s on Facebook all day and night. When does he do national duties? He ran away from “London 14 days work holiday”.

  6. This is typical of MCS. No wonder he thinks he can solve economic problems using pave 8000. Using a monkey wrench to fix a cellular phone.

  7. Critical issues facing people of katuba and country as a whole should be focal point of compaigns. Issues of high poverty levels, unemployement, high cost of basic needs [BNB] and constitution. These are by far the cry of all zambians; i mean genuine zambians.
These back and forth personal attacks between President sata and HH are unacceptable, retrogressive and a sign of failed and immature leadership on both parties; more so on the incumbent. We expect the president to show restraint, tolerance and maturity in face of unwarranted personal attacks. The exercise of power should be the constant practice of self-limitation and control.

  8. This president forgets so easily. He mocked Levy, and actually demanded for the chief justice to appoint a team of doctors to determine if Levy Mwanawasa was fit to hold the office of the president. He went on to mock RB over his knee problem, and later on the late George Kunda.

    • He has memory loss and “chooses” not to recall he disparaged his predecessors! Manje chadya yeve and his supporters want him spared from the kind of ridicule and scorn he poured on others!

  9. yes mr president ka (HH) is sick indeed. He only knows how to pound smoke-dried cow dang to make southern smoke. but it makes his dementia worse because it is very potent. the young man has red eyes like a grasshopper from Congo. Let not the evil words of a cattle herding clown sway you from your successes your excellency. hallelujah. ka (HH) watch out koswe

  10. Don’t try to confuse the old man with this talk about leadership. Just let him be himself and let him do what he does best – make noise. Trying to teach him leadership at this stage is retrogressive. Had Mr. Sata even a tiny grain of leadership in him, we long would have seen it in the way he has handled and responded to cardinal issues that have arisen during his presidency.

People voted for Mr. Sata because they thought he was a ‘man of action’, whatever that meant, and not necessarily for his leadership acumen. So far, he has lived up to that reputation as a man of action. Look at the new airport names, new universities, new stadiums in Mongu and Livingstone, new districts and even a new province, to name but a few. Leadership is not his thing. He wasn’t born one.

  11. PF vuvuzela ( post newspaper/ mmembe) are to blame sir. They hv chosen to mislead gullible zambian since they don’t hv anything good to praise yu with. Open yo eyes and see. HH can’t sink so low, learn frm hm and stop ths kind of childish politics. We want issue based campain

  12. PF vuvuzela ( post newspaper/ mmembe) are to blame sir. They hv chosen to mislead gullible zambian since they don’t hv anything good to praise yu with. We want issue based campain

    • I agree. Zambians are gullible and corrupt prone. That is whytheyvote with their stomachs. Wanzelu and other progressive bloggers, forget about these people and make a good life for you and family.

  13. The issue is not President’s answers.
The issue is President’s uncalled and more than not, comments unbecoming to the Head of State.

  14. Neo is a fake policy analyst who just want to redeem his fallen ego that got battered in 2011. When falsehoods are peddled by masquerades, you expect the presidency to sit ndwii in the name of statesmanship. Obama does and does Putin. Why not advise those masquerades to politic normally and talk about issues that are developmental in nature. These chaps sucks wish!!!

  15. Mr Sata is right by answering back those seeking to gain cheap political mileage by peddling falsehoods about his alleged sickness.Zambian politics can be rough at times, you keep quiet and people will start believing the lies peddled by your political competitors.

    • Sata is ill. There’s no hiding from this . The guy should just grow up and accept what he is going through. HH has never talked about your Sata’s illness. Neither ZNBC nor Mmembe can produce any evidence in form of a recording in which HH is talking about Sata’s very evident illness. Sata is just embarrassing himself with his childish outbursts. He should tone down and accept the hand that fate has dealt him. He’s the President and we expect some level of decorum befitting the office of President. We are not all Kaponyas! Shaa!

  16. Once more I seek to appeal to HH. You cannot save a people who still want to be in oppression. There is no personal benefit in my view for you to go to State House since u already have and are a a (rebased) billionaire. Why cast pearls before swine? Zambians are shikipisha in being tortured under dictatorships. They love being humiliated and lied to as have done successive ‘leaders’. Dont waste your time on these people. Most of them are thieves and corrupt tribalists. Leave them to ‘phd’ each other as they are used to. As for you and Mutinta and your three great kids, enjoy your wealth. Zambians are a lost cause. They are gullible and greedy.

  17. Simutanyi and other NGOs are panicking because government has no time for useless NGOs like this. Zambia is clogged with useless NGOs

  18. Sata responds to every small jibe bcoz he’s small minded and has no clue what he’s doing.Thats why he only has 7 guns and a Cressida. If he can’t think for himself to multiply his wealth how on earth is he our leader to lead us to prosperity?

  19. HH has said it categorically that he will ask Zambians to pray for him.The presidency has lost value these days because of us Zambians lack of foresight and informed vision pertaining certain politicians despite revealing out concealed information or data under the carpet.we decided to bury our heads in the sand while praising the person Man of Action little did we know that in all what he did,he was not alone,he had people to work with…no it is every cough from hh he answers. typical of an African President…brace for more comedy of laughter time and again.
