Mwale issues Nkana battle cry

Share

Nkana coach Masauso Mwale has issued a battle cry for the defending champions to show championship character on Saturday when they host troubled Roan United in Kitwe.

The 2013 champions have failed to spark in the league so far after two games played with another two matches in hand.

Nkana are currently 11th with two points after picking up scoreless draws away to Green Eagles and Napsa Stars.

Moreover, the side has failed to win a competitive game since March 8 let alone score any goals in 360 minutes of action.

Nkana trace their last goal, and win, to their 2-1 away win over KCCA of Uganda in a CAF Champions League first round, return leg match in Kampala exactly a month ago.

“We give respect to Roan, they are a good team, but just we need to be on top of things,” Nkana coach Masauso Mwale said.

“We have to play for a positive result so that we can start accumulating the points that will help us to defend the league title.”

Roan too are under pressure and lie bottom of the table with zero points from three games played.
