Police arrest suspect for beating chief

Police in Solwezi have arrested one suspect alleged to be part of the mob of mourners that assaulted Chief Chikola of the Lamba people of Solwezi district over the weekend.

Chief Chikola was assaulted by his subjects who beat him on suspicion that he was behind the death of his retainer who died some days earlier.

North-western province Deputy Police Commissioner, Michael Nkaka, confirmed the arrest of Kings Fulani, brother of the deceased in Solwezi.

Mr Nkaka said the Chief was badly assaulted after relatives of the deceased performed a traditional practice commonly known as Chikondo which indicated that the chief was the one behind the death of his retainer. He said police have since evacuated chief Chikola from his palace for security reasons.Mr Nkaka said Fulani is in police custody awaiting court appearance.

  1. Lambas, must be from southern province.

Not surprised those people are mentally backwards

    Thanks

    • @Mushota

So you also wipe Mmembe ‘s tribal bums for popularity amongst you fellow tribal idi0ts.

    • Ne fimafumu fimo kuti ba chuma mwe. They are just too self centred. Monga aka ka mfumu kachibemba ku mwalule.

  2. Always amazed by the ignorance and simplistic mind of some people. When will these folks understand that the earth is full of viruses, bacteria, fungi, amoeba, giardia, protozoa, helminthics etc. that infect and at times cause fatality in other living organisms including humans?.

  3. The chief must prove his innocency as Fulani has no case to answer. Even me I would have acted the same way out of anger.

  4. Ok, i almost rejoiced as I thought it was one of those illiterate chiefs who say they dont care about a people driven constitution.

  5. As far as I know, Lambas originate from Copper-belt Province and NOT Solwezi. Lamba people are also found around Kapiri Mposhi, Ndola (ruaral) Masaiti Boma, Kitwe (Chief Nkana area), Kalulushi and Luanshya.

Whoever susggested that Lambas come from Solwezi is wrong. Solwezi is for Kaondes, simple…

    • Wa becha musankwa . There are lamba,s in parts of Solwezi as you travel from Copperbelt Chingola and Kalulushi. Kuti was basanga ba foloko, ba spoon, ba kabichi ne ba tomato. Enkobali !

  6. Some parts of Zambia is still in the medieval times? Would be interesting to do a documentary I think…… getting ideals!

    • My dear, you need to understand the spiritual world for you to know this. We are spiritual beings in human bodies. These things are real and they happen.

    • @ The crusader,
Waoh! That makes it even more interesting, now I want to do that documentary! And please take part so we can learn more about the spiritual world. Then liken the two worlds ( The medieval times and the present world ) cool!
