MMD vice-president Michael Kaingu has said President Sata will scoop the 2016 elections by a wide margin in most parts of Zambia.

Dr Kaingu says if elections were held today, the Patriotic Front (PF) would win because it is currently the most popular party.

“If we had to go for elections today, PF would win in Luapula, Muchinga, Northern, North-Western, Central, Copperbelt and would be second in Southern and Western provinces,” he said.

Dr Kaingu was speaking in Lusaka on Millennium Radio’s The Interview programme yesterday.
He said the MMD under Dr Nevers Mumba is headed for doom because its president cannot win elections even at ward level.

“Dr Mumba cannot win at ward level even in Chinsali, where he comes from, and this is the problem that we have,” Dr Kaingu said.

He said the MMD is dying and there are serious steps that are supposed to be taken to revive the party.

Dr Kaingu said the party should go for a convention at which it can be rebranded.

He said the MMD in its current form has nothing to offer to the people and that the former ruling party is not performing its role of providing checks and balances.

And Dr Mumba has said some senior party officials are likely to leave the former ruling party and not he because they are not ready to embrace the new vision of the rebranded MMD.

Dr Mumba says contrary to assertions by his two vice-presidents Brian Chituwo and Kaingu as well as MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya that he has failed to run the former ruling party, he has actually saved it from dying.

“By the time I took over MMD very few Zambians wanted to hear the name MMD. They just rejected it at the polls – it was in the doldrums.

“People did not want to hear certain names which you are mentioning (Brian Chituwo, Michael Kaingu and Dora Siliya) because they thought that they had enough of it,” Dr Mumba said.

Dr Mumba said on Sunday when he featured on a special programme on Kabwe’s KNC Radio that his job is to recreate the MMD so that it can realign its policies with the aspirations of Zambians.

Dr Mumba cited perceived arrogance, corruption, and the party being more responsive to foreigners than Zambians as some of the factors that led to its loss in the 2011 tripartite elections.

Dr Mumba said after he was elected MMD president, he led the party to undertake a “brutal assessment of itself” and measures to fight corruption and other factors that led to its loss are in place.

He said as part of rebranding, “new faces” are joining the party so that it can be run with a new approach.

Dr Mumba said wrangles in the MMD are mere ‘birth pains’ which will result in the new and strongest political party in Zambia.

“We need to know who is with us, to know who is able to play this role of the new MMD, to know who is failing to catch up with the new developments in the new MMD,” he said. “We want everybody to run with us but it is not possible that everyone will come with us.”

Retracing the history of MMD, he said after Dr Frederick Chiluba won the presidency in 1991, “giant members” such as Humphrey Mulemba, Akashambatwa Mbikusita-Lewanika, Baldwin Nkumbula, and Emmanuel Kasonde left the party but Dr Chiluba continued being president.

Dr Mumba also said when Dr Chiluba was handling over power to Levy Mwanawasa, 22 strong members among them Godfrey Miyanda and Christon Tembo left the MMD but Mr Mwanawasa became President and the MMD continued.

He further stated that during President Banda’s, reign, people like Sylvia Masebo, Ng’andu Magande, George Mpombo and Mike Mulongoti left but the MMD continued.

“Under my watch as president of MMD, I will not allow this party to die. I am getting ready to get the party back into government. That is my preoccupation and that is my goal,” Dr Mumba said.

Dr Mumba said that the PF will not win the 2016 elections because it has failed to deliver on its campaign promises.

  1. Anyone who is so weak and unprincipled, able to be bought by PF in order to bring confusion in MMD has no more integrity before the public eye! Kaingu is such a one!

    • Ati Dr. Kaingu. Another classic case of education gone wrong. The education has torn him from being true to himself, and so he swings from opinion to opinion, from ideal to ideal. I dont understand how an opposition leader could utter such sentiments in public. Though his opinions and thought might be true, it is however untactful of him to make such a statement. Again, his education should make this easy to see. Its not rocket science ba kaingu, unless he has ulterior motives. A family knows its weaknesses and it does not parade such to the whole community, because it will then make it easy for it to be destroyed not only internally but worse of all externally.

    • Is Kaingu now marketing himself to PF upon realizing he can’t displace Nevers?
Dora, Kaingu and Chituwo have only themselves to blame for destroying their party. They spent their life in MMD enriching themselves and in the process rendered themselves so USELESS that Mumba who returned from so far away (Canada) managed to take over the party under their watch. And now Kaingu is singing praises about another dying party in ICU…. “It is he who fights and runs away who will need to fight another day…” Bob Marley in HEATHEN.

    • I did not know that Dr. Kaingi is such a politically immoral person. Surely its a case of education gone wrong.
Dr. Mumba just be strong and move on. Dont worry about these hyenas, snakes and vultures like Kaingu, Chituwo and Dora sillit who want to auction the MMD to the Pathetic Family (PF) for 30 ngwee.

    • Sata is finished…..there are no elections he can win now nor in 2016. Stop mocking the poor fellow. It’s over for him.

    • Kaingu’s education does not help him understand politics (Qualifications: Cambridge School Certificate, Certificate in Business Studies, Diploma in Electronics, Diploma in Avionics, MBA and a PhD in whatever). He needs to read more in politics, history, social science – another diploma or PhD in these fields will make him better. Perhaps a PhD with an accredited university.

    • THE MAN OF GOD AT WORK……..BUILDING THE PARTY.THATS WHAT MATTERS FOR US LOVERS OF THIS CHRISTIAN NATION ZAMBIA.

    • Kaingu has given a true reflection of the situation on the ground

A few disgruntled bloggers and political demagogues are blinded by their utopia.

What will return PF into power is their commitment to improve the lives of people especially the most vulnerable in the peri urban and rural areas. PF govt is opening up the country and sharing the national cake with people in the rural areas on unprecedented scale much to the dismay of the fragmented and disorientation of the opposition parties.

Other than merely criticizing the working PF govt so as to be seen to be useful and relevant to our political discourse, there is no one single opposition that has come up with an alternative development agenda for the country.

      Shame of the opposition parties

    • Surely what spicies of Kaingu is this who can decapaign his President? This man is being used for sure.Every darkness shall disappear on Dr Mumba’s path, like Dora leaving Church when Dr Mumba appeared.

    • Well said Kaingu !!! It goes without saying !!! George Mpombo said a similar thing last week.Glad that the opposition have started being realistic unlike deluded guys like Hikainde who are in denial.

    • This man, Kaingu clearly reveals his corrupt mind, indeed you are a bought man. hope no one is squeezing his throat to say what he is saying?

    • they thing about MMD of today is that there are many Dr.NDANI NDANI, Dr.CHITE CHITE, Dr. X, Dr.Y Dr SO na SO, whose credibility of their Phd is NOT KNOWN, university NOT KNOWN, specialisation, NOT KNOWN.when they speak, you can’t tell if the person was under gunpoint or maybe he/she is just a cadre. it leaves so much to be desired from a Phd holder who wrote a thesis, stood in front of well qualified adjudicators and convinced them to give him doctorship in whatever field. cause these Dr(s) can’t even convince each other that my dear you are wrong on the basis of XYZ, i accept that am wrong and you are right or we are all right but he is more right than us all. it makes me wonder, if Phd holders cannot convince each other how do they convince me a layman to give them a vote. pa Z
      ed…

    • This man has a message of hope for the ailing President Sata or even Zambia at large. While you are seeing Sata dead in the next four day, the man is giving Sata great hope for living. To me this man has the charracter of a National Leader. You surely cant buy such men. Your UPND can make use of him in 2016.

    • Hon Lucky Mulusa should distance himself from this pack of Kaingu,Chituwo and Dora.I personally regard Mulusa as an intellectual who is capable of correcting any short comings Nevers is perceived to have without shouting at each other in public. Please Lucky follow your instincts and conscience.

Even for Dora Siliya,Nevers is her traditional cousin who she can advise without mincing words and Am sure Nevers will not take offense. Why then this public acrimony???????

  2. It’s lack of genuine love for Sata for anyone to say Sata will scoop the 2016. Those who genuinely love Sata are hoping that he could retire soon and save his life from the strenuous job of Presido. By now everyone can see that Sata is not too well, so to tell him “you will scoop 2016 elections” is a sign of no genuine love.

    • If PF can win after:

      1. failing to deliver the people driven constitution after 2 years (the 90 day promise)
      2. hacking the Kwacha from below around K4 800 when RB gave them way to now close to K7000
      3. increasing taxes to unprecedented levels ; subsidies removed, toll gates, airtime taxes, tax on land increased by 100%
      4. doubling price of mealie meal
      5. increasing cost of fuel
      6. taking the nation back to to the Highly Indebted country status with borrowing now close of US$5 billion (RB left minimal debt)
      7. Consistently eroding the rule of law……look at who is Chief Justice, DPP, Speaker, Police chief.
      8. Depriving the Bashilumba their mandate
      …..etc
then, I dare say we collectively as a nation has a suffering shoot myself in the foot syndrome and deserve hell.

    • @siamanengo, good points you have stretched there, but bare in mind that those are problems that are affecting a few zambioan, particularly those in urban areas which are also a few, the only one that is affecting the rural areas is th Chitimukulu thing which is not even such a big issue. cause them wat they are seeing are road, which, yes come fabout from NKONGOLE, talk about DPP and CONSTITUTION and KWACHA-DOLLAR RATES, whats that? talk about fuel prices, you are the 1 the HILUX they just walk to work, or cylcle, if they want to carry heavy stuff koch kala comes in handy with thse roads built from ngkongole,ni shot shot. removal of subsidies, maize prices sky-rocket, thats very good for them in rural areas cause what they are selling is maize not mealie meal which they do not even buy.

  3. Kaingu must be sick in the head like Sata. What does he take Zambians for? Sata, an incompetent, non performer and dying lunatic of a president, winning? In his wet dreams! Fake projections!

  4. All for the love of money, Kaingu is willing to sound like some village madman! He’s probably one! Honestly how can a sane person outside the PF make such a claim when even PF zealots know that 2016 is not a done deal? Kaingu should consider a visit to the psychiatrist a must, unless he wants to end up dancing naked!!

  5. This just looks like and sounds like some petty jealousy in the hope of trying to grab power from DR Mumba who was duly elected because they sense that New MMD or UPND can win in 2016, so the above message is opposite of what will happen in 2016, trying to comfort themselves but the wind of change is blowing. 2016 is for MMD or UPND

  6. HH can be the next president, UPND need to work on some logistics to increase votes in the 2016 election and broaden their outreach. Currently HH stands at 40% to 50% in winning the elections with Southern , parts of Western and North Western comfortably under UPND. Lusaka, Copperbelt and Central Provinces may lean towards UPND depending on what will prevail few months before the elections so more work and voter registration need to take place in these provinces. Eastern province will require a lot of work as it seems to be the last province to make decisions during a political turn around.

    • my friend this lunatic of a leader hh can not win elections he is a failed politician please not edit my post cause you are allowing others to insult the man of action SATA

    • UPND was declared a tribal party after the death of Great Mazoka. So i can not how they will win with Southern Province. Check the population in provinces like, Muchinga, Luapula, Northern, Eastern, Coppebelt Central and Lusaka where PF is popular.

    • We need to move away from stereotypes based upon media propaganda and judge people based upon character and not tribe. New MMD or UPND will take the day in 2016 and they are unstoppable.

  7. contd As for Northern, Luapula and Muchinga Provinces UPND needs to change it’s strategy by having 2 Vice President positions to destroy the media propaganda of tribalism by giving one of the positions to an influential politician from that region e.g Bwalya of ABZ etc. Voter Registration and a lot of work is needed in that region. If the above steps can be undertaken it will boost the percentages to 50% to 60% of HH being the next leader.

  8. Dr Nevers Mumba also has a chance of being the next President by 40% to 50%. A lot of work and voter registration is needed by the New MMD especially to convince Zambians that MMD has reformed including the internal conflicts need to be managed and resolved successfully. Eastern Province, Central Province, Western, North Western is comfortably under MMD and a lot of work and voter registration needs to take place. Parts of Northern, Muchinga and Luapula province is comfortably under MMD and a lot of work and voter registration needs to take place.

    • Western Province will completely be swept by UPND. It is over for PF and MMD in Western Province. Mumba’s only friend in MMD is Muhabi…..his fellow political failure. Can you remind us which political heavyweights accompany Mumba to the Provinces he is touring? Which sitting MPs from Western Province were in his entourage when he went to Western and Eastern Provinces? None.

    • No need to fight against opposition Parties, those are distractions. UPND and MMD’s focus should be on the ruling party.

  9. Lusaka and Copperbelt Provinces may lean towards MMD depending on what will prevail few months before the elections so more work and voter registration need to take place in these provinces. A lot of work and voter registration needs to be done in Southern Province maybe with the possibility of a Vice President from that region. Dr Mumba needs to also enroll in an Economics degree to add to his Masters Degree in Public Policy.

    • hallo! is any body home..hallo! @Analytic which planet are you at. certainly not earth or are you so educated and rich that you have completely lost touch with the grass root. you should always remember that web politics and actual politics are too different things; in web politics the strategy that is there is simply to shoot in the dark and you aim at ghosts or artificial people lie me,people with fake names and they even respond to you.while in actual politics you aim at the intended target, i mean real people with genuine voters card. one good thing about Sata is that he has changed the political land scape where you dont need alot of money to win an election because of dont kubeba(where you dont refuse gifts from anybody but simply dont vote for them.)

    • @Analytic…. you also make sure that you embrass each and every voter, dont call them names like uneducated, kaponya,by their tribe and most of all tell them what you intend to do for them, promise them little things like roads, clinics, schools and good agric policies. dont talk about your political opponents misfortunes eg. illness, death etc. reduce yourself to the voters level and dont boast that are holier than them, richer than them or more educated than them because most of them could have even done better than you if at all they had opportunities like you.lastly if you want votes from kopala, lsk, do not seem to… like…use them because you cant use them ,they are more clever than you .in shot am asking @Analytic to stop shooting in the dark or aim at ghosts and come back to earth

  10. Zambia has learnt the hard way and to bring the country back to it’s Economic standing and even perform even better than the past the country needs a President who not only relies on Technocrat but has also some subject matter expertise in Economics and can debate intellectually with them and also guide the technocrats where there are gaps. If the above steps can be undertaken it will boost the percentages to 50% to 60% of Dr Mumba being the next leader. Every vote counts and every voter segmentation needs to be won.

  11. As for the smaller parties they need to concentrate on winning Parliament positions versus Presidential they can endorse HH or Dr Mumba for 2016. There is a potential of registration of 1.8 million new voters with provinces having a range between 50 000 – 400,000 new voters based upon the current population of 53% adults and the current voters registered by ECZ. MMD and UPND need to wake up and go full force in registering new voters

  12. When is MMD NEC taking action on the 5 as it is very clear that they are out to destroy the Party as much as they have started playing victims by saying that the new MMD wants the old members out which is not true because their actions speak out for them. It is time to be focused and start preparing for 2016, distractions are not welcome.

  13. Police in Chipata have moved in to block opposition Movement for Multi-party Democracy, MMD, leader Nevers Mumba’s mobilisation tour blocking his indoor meeting with party officials and supporters. Dr Mumba has embarked on a countrywide mobilisation programme but the heavy handed PF police has trailed his moves throughout. He left Lusaka on Sunday and attended a church service in Petauke after a stop in Nyimba but his meetings in Chipata on Monday were disrupted by police.Acting on orders from State House which has only allowed PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba to freely campaign, the police rounded Dr Mumba and his leadership on Monday night. The MMD entourage in Chipata was for long periods locked up by police who wanted them to abort their mobilisation tour.

  14. On Friday, police on the Copperbelt to arrest Dr Mumba who was in the province for party mobilisation after he held a meeting without police notification. And Copperbelt police commissioner, Joyce Kasosa, said the police did not go to arrest Mumba, but were merely doing their usual police duties of finding out what he was doing in Masaiti.Mumba’s special assistant, Raphael Nakachinda, revealed that the police rushed to Masaiti where Mumba had made a stopover to witness the defections of over 50 cadres from the ruling PF and opposition UPND.
Nakachinda said the police, who were in full riot gear, arrived in three Land Cruisers shortly after Mumba had left for Lusaka and questioned some party officials on the whereabouts of the opposition leader.

  15. He said Masaiti MMD member of parliament Michael Katambo took advantage of Mumba’s presence on the Copperbelt and asked him to receive the defectors in the area.“The police just hearing that Dr Mumba was on the Copperbelt, decided to effect an arrest on Dr Mumba for greeting people and receiving defectors who were coming from the ruling PF and UPND,” he said.According to sources, police missed Mumba just by minutes. And addressing the defectors earlier before police arrived, Mumba advised Zambians not to carry out unnecessary experiments with leadership. He said Zambians had experimented with the PF government and that the results had been disastrous.“I want to urge all Zambians, no more experiments. The English phrase says ‘once bitten, twice shy’.

  16. The experiments that Zambians did in 2011 should not be repeated. Zambians were living comfortably eating and living well in MMD. Agriculture was good. There was abundant money and Zambians were buying mealie-meal at K37. But Zambians became tired of living well and they experimented on electing President Sata as President. This experiment has brought about problems. I leave one word for you, ‘no more experiments’,” said Mumba. And Kasosa said the police did not go to arrest Mumba, but were merely doing their usual duties of finding out what he was doing in Masaiti.“This is normal police work. We had information that Dr Mumba was on the Copperbelt.

  17. So, police officers were sent to find out what he was doing on the Copperbelt because he did not notify the police that he was having a rally. We wanted to verify the information that we got. No one went to arrest him,” said Kasosa. Source Zambia Reports

  18. Another belly politician, full of hatred, jealous.wasted years of education, how can a country develop with such kind of leaders?

  19. It is hilarious for anyone to suggest that Sata is popular and even insane to suggest that he can win any election besides the 2011 one!!

    • I do not know which part of the world you are and how often you go to Zambia. Sata and PF have touched many lives especially in the rural areas. Come 2016 if they work on the price of mealie meal, it will be A landslide. if l where kabimba l would ensure each province has not less than 5 commercial milling plants run by the party to compete with millers who re stealing from the public.

    • It is over for PF. Which rural areas are these? In Muchinga, Luapula and Northern Provinces…yes. Everywhere else…Big No! Besides its over for Sata and as long as it is not a Bemba standing on the PF ticket the three Bemba provinces wont vote for PF. PF is dying with Sata!

  20. Kaingu is turning into Zambia’s own comical Ali telling us they’re killing the opposition before they reach Baghdad in 2016.

  21. It is interesting that Kaingu knows Sata wont even be second in Lusaka anyway kaingu shut the F*ck up and just leak Mr Charles Mwango Katongo’s boots

  22. Politics of the belly. And you still call him MMD vice president? My foot! maybe he is a PF party second vice president. shame on you Kaingu. You’re a traitor who just needs to tell the nation that you’re now a PF cadre..

  23. This sounds like a trick to set up Sata fall into a political trap to be embarrassed by the Bemba vote.

Sata’s confrontations with the Bemba Chiefdom is a factor that has negatively impacted on his mental state to such an extent that he has no formula to visit Kasama. Kabimba has done a lot of damage to the current Presidency. Any “boos” directed at Sata in the Northern Province will be the final nail in his political coffin. Certainly, other Zambians will follow suit countrywide. Politics seem to have evolved into complex dynamics in Zambia.

  24. If Dr Kaingu wrote his own thesis, he could have joined pf now and that’s simply called intelligence. Since he is not intelligent he shud consult the Intelligence and they debrief him. If Sata wl b there in 2016 we know he has no energy 2 campaign. Lets wait for the upcoming 12 bye and see who has the energy for 2016. Kabimba is on a campaign trail now not for 2016. Time will come when we will all confirm that Sata is pf n pf is Sata-one man party twakumanina mo fye

  25. peolpe should ignore kaingu, chituwo, mulusa and their only wife Dora,if kaingu thinks sata will win the 2016 elections why has he remained in a party that cannot win a ward?no wonder kabimba can even say the people want a one party state which we had rejected in 1991.these are the people who have made MMD lose loyal members because of their daily squabbles which are not adding any value to the party.why can’t the MMD get rid of them?are they indispensable?Do not blame all the problems on NEVERS,He was not there when you lost the 2011 elections,in fact credit should go to him for serving the party from total collapse, some had predicted that he won’t lasts 90 days but he has clocked 24 months.any sane person cannot support the PF which has gone asray on its promises,90 promises.

  26. Mumba has a task to remove the corrupt tag that Dora, Daka, Kaingu etc brought to MMD. MMD is dead if decisions will be made by “labelled and acknowledged corrupt elements like Dora” Dora and her team should quickly join PF, while they are still welcomed.

  27. LET US MAKE HISTORY IN ZAMBIA BY MAKING THE PF GOVT A ONE TERM PARTY IN GOVT.JOYCE BANDA IN MALAWI IS GONE,WE CAN DO IT AS WELL IN ZAMBIA.A VOTE FOR PF IS A CONFIRMATION OF A ONE PARTY SATATE.ARE YOU READY TO GO BACK TO THE DAYS OF WAMUYAYAYA?ARE U REDY TO SHOUT PF MULILO WAIKATAKO WAPYA?ARE U READY TO SAY KUMULU NI LESA PANSHI NI BA SATA?THE CHOICE IS YOURS TO MAKE HISTORY IN ”ZAMBIA”

  28. YES WE ARE READY TO MAKE HISTORY IN ZAMBIA BY MAKING THE PF A ONE TERM GOVT.BUT WHOM ARE WE GOING TO VOTE FOR?HH?

  29. if u were God Kaingu, i would believe u by more than 1000%. but u being a mere man who cant tell what the next minute will hold, i WONT BELIVE YOU. WHY? u said the same on sata few years ago that he can t rule, who is ruling?

  30. Zambians let us start floating a presidential candident now. In my views we do not have some one from the opposition with credible experience to convice Zambians.
I have some one who although is not a noise maker helped Zambia to come out of the financial woes. Without any tribal sentiments as some of the people would do, I would cast my vote for MAGANDE. He has a track record of good financial performance juts like Sata had a good record of local goverment management.

  31. Dr. Kaingu is not suggesting that PF is popular. What he is saying is that PF has a political base and that political base is still solid. It’s clear to me that MMD has no solid political base. UPND has a political base that is too small to win a national election. Under the worst of circumstances, PF could still win, were election to be held today. In 2011 Mr. Sata was sick and reported to have collapsed on several occasions during the campaign trail. He still won, because of PF’s political base.

    • Examine the so called base and you will find that the bulk of it consists of those that will go to the highest bidder – its not personal, they follow whatever or whoever promises them food, alcohol and a chance at looting the national treasury.

    • @NaJudah: And that highest bidder could be PF. The party is reputed for its strengths at organizing the grassroots. “Donchi Kubeba and More money in your pockets..” were its catch phrases in 2011. PF had a winning formula, even when they had so little in their coffers. Now they control the treasury!

    • And by the way, should we be oblivious to the reality that MMD still has a baggage of its own to dispose of? Consequently, must we not assume that MMD, in its current state, with all the infighting etc., is a feeble opponent, politically? As for UPND, have we not seen what the party is capable and not capable of doing over the years? Can we just settle for another empty promise from them? Or are we not just being arrogant when we dismiss Kaingu out rightly?

    • HH will never win an election because of his regional/tribal based starting point. This has destroyed everything about his political carear and future of UPND. We voted for Andy because he was non tribal. But your HH is a suspected. It is in the public domain that this guys does’nt love Bemba speaking tribal in any way. Therefore, even dogs in our villages fear this man and there is no way any sensible Bemba would vote for such a person into State House. Our prayer is for our good Lord to give us another president after Sata. Not HH as he is a self confessed tribalist who hates particularly Bemba and Ngonis.

  32. An obvious dreaming malcontent who can not read the political landscape. He talks like a “hired gun” and an instrument of the third force bent on destabilising MMD. He should be left on the pile of political history.

  33. Kaingu should be true to himself before opening his mouth.

So if his Party MMD cannot win 2016 elections, WHY DOES HE WANT THE PRESIDENCY OF THE PARTY?????

    Has he lost it too?

    Bamuselela kwakaba~~~~~~~~`

  34. Dr Kaingu is right!!Only people who dont know anything about Nevers Mumbas political history will argue against Dr Kaingu and insult him.The truth pains and the truth is Nevers Mumba is driving the MMD into political oblivion. He has done that before and those of us who have followed this man’s political history from the time he was shouting “Zambia shall be save!” then abandoned his church and joined politics we know that under Nevers the MMD will soon be dead!Right now it is in the political ICU.The writing is on the wall!!Nevers is power hungry and a selfish individual!!

  35. There we go again. Zambia is not short of turncoats and charlatans, and we are not seeing the last of them.

  36. Pf won in 2011 because they didn’t have a track record, but in 2016 people will have to look at pf ‘s track record,so far it’s not a record which majority of Zambians would cast their vote on.essential commodities have skyrocketed, the kwacha is has lost value, oppression of people with divergent views, exhibition of barbaric manners by the head of state.lack of presidential visits, and the president is sick and old .kabimba is the most powerful man in Zambia at the helm of the president.are u gona vote for kabimba who said God called him,he also said that Zambians want one party state….Lusaka times.

  37. Apparently this is a ‘coach’ of a team going to compete at the next championship games declaring that his rivals will win the championship. How can he inspire confidence among his players and supporters? Let’s say he is elected tomorrow to lead the MMD, is he going to eat his own v0mit?

I’m no big fan of Dr Mumba but this !di0t called Kaingu and his kind are making me like him more. Surely he must have some sh@me, mustn’t he? It’s obvious he is being forced to say these things for the money he took because the earlier scheme failed.

  38. How do expose yourself like this if he thinks Pa Fiko is stupid he is in for a rude shock. He is the one who said Sata can not rule. It is him. Problem with politicians with no backbones you expect such rubbish. Instead of working with the current leadership in MMD he is busy destroying it what a waste

  39. Sata will not stand in 2016, he will either be too sick or no more…. i mean, lets face it, the man is sick, he has finished.

  40. mr Kaingu can not be trusted by Sata because he has failed to offer leadership in MMD apart from from causing Confusion .Zambians will never trust Mr Kaingu who accused the PF of Failure to deliver on it`s campaign but today Dr Kaingu is support PF Namulyamo retire from active politics SIR

  41. but kwena ee pa zed so we are already in confusion if elections were held today pf would win but dr kaingu says sata will win with wide margin 2016 and we are busy calling him names reports reaches us police in copperbelt wanted to arrest nevers mumba for being in the provence and other reports says also wanted him for being in eastern province state media is showing kabwamba visiting all parts of zambia without harrassment and we dought what kaingu is saying then we are not serious if hh tried the same trouble so goes with nawakwi and other opposition parties i think we zambians are to blame for we cant do what malawians are doing unless we stop the pf from behaving as if it is one party state already then i have no dought pf is winning come 2016 or even earlier

  42. ‘Dr’ Kaingu, I now doubt authenticity of your doctorate qualification. If you had nothing to say, it would have been better to just shut up. No one would have laughed at you. Learn to respect Africa and Africans in general and Zambians in particular. Stop insulting us.

    • An old adage goes like this: “He who asks for the riddles becomes a riddle himself.” Much like a short gun, your observation is vague. Exactly what do you mean by: “Learn to respect Africa and Africans in general and Zambians in particular. Stop insulting us”?

  43. All the three political parties MMD, UPND and NAREP can probably do better than wht we are seeing now. All the three leaders are highly presidential material.

If Dr Kaingu strongly feels that he is presidential material he should form his own party or join PF in steady of making noise in the streets. These are the people who contributed to MMDs down fall. This arrogance expressed by Kaingu is tragic. At your level (Vice president) Kaingu we expect you to exhibit maturity and integrity not just ranting like an MMD cadre.

    • The mentality of forming new political parties whenever there is a fall-out within a particular political party is archaic. How many political parties are we going to have? Let Kaingu stay and fight within MMD.

  44. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO FORCE GOD TO DO WHAT THEY DID NOT THINKING OF.
MALAWI IS OUR NEIGHBOUR WE HAVE A LOT IN COMMON.

  45. No PF will not win the 2016 election.
I am appalled that any self respecting person can make such an unfortunate false prediction. One wonders what the motive is one truly wonders.

  46. @zedian let me tell you why PF will win: they will win in Luapula, northern, muchinga, 80% of Central province, 90% of CB, 90% of Lusaka of province, around Chongwe, feira and luangwa. However MMD will win in eastern. In eastern, PF will be no 2. NW will be shared btwn MMD and UPND, with 1 or 2 seats being won by PF. Southern will be UPND. Western will be shared btwn UPND, MMD and PF though UPND will take most of the seats. Overall PF will win with a landslide. PF’s projects will see them thru as well Link8000, L400, Pave2000, Ktw-CNC dual road, airports upgrading to international standards, 600 health posts, Chiawa bridge, schools, universities ( palabana and Robert makasa) and more, bumper harvest, overall upgrading of roads in Zambia. UNZA of upgrading, reasonable minimum wages,

  47. the only problem pipo have, u hate good advice kaingu is jst saying the truth mmd is not a threat to pf and it is suppose to be reorganised b4 2016 otherwise im also seeing pf bouncing back in 2016. dont blame any one who ever stands on pf wil scoop the presidency few pipo aganist pf will not make pf lose the elections

  48. This so called Dr bla…bla…! Obviously, he is demonstrating the difference between talking and breathing bad air!

  49. Dr Kaingu has lost respect. He is one of those who made MMD lose.MMD had lost touch with the majority poor and kaingu was busy accumulating wealth. This man will continue praising anybody with the key to power.PLEASE IGNORE HIM AND LET US PRAY FOR PRESIDENT.

    • You are not able to demonstrate in number terms how PF can be expected to lose in 2016. Under the current constitution (simple majority), we are talking about a split vote for the opposition. PF could still walk away with victory even at 38% of the vote. You can’t afford to be so naïve.

    • And by the way, don’t forget that at the present moment PF has the wallet. They are able to even sponsor a new and flamboyant political party in an opposition stronghold; such as Southern Province, just so a party like UPND does not get its true share of the pie. Do you think PF is borrowing all this money they are borrowing for nothing? You will wake-up too late to remember Dr. Kaingu’s words.

  50. Those wishing PF to loose elections in 2016 is like wishing a PIG to fly which can never happen even without President SATA. Aaaah!!! Nevers has even known how to lye even when he knows the truth. MMD is going into extinction or oblivion just like UPND. They need to wait a little bit longer. That’s what happens when you leave the pulpit for politics like Mr. Frank Bwalya.

    Regards

  51. so was jesus betrayed by Judas, kaingu you are a traitor an oppotunist and will do anything for money; Yes Sata will win the 2016 elections if we allow the ballot papers to be printed here, as for you kaingu, your days are numbered;

  52. If anyone thinks that PF are going to be a walk-over in 2016, they fooling themselves. Should we be oblivious to the reality that MMD still has a baggage of its own to dispose of? In its current state, with all the infighting etc., MMD is a weak political opponent. UPND lost it, following the death of its founder, Mazoka. As yet, it is still a party in search for a winning formula.

Kaingu is being realistic. To dislodge PF from power in 2016 will not be easy. If it should happen, PF will have made history as having ruled for only one term, as a party. It doesn’t happen that easily. And it is not from without that the government is resisting the new constitution. Otherwise, insult Kaingu all you want. The man is a visionary.

  53. That’s his own family has failed. Am not surprised now that he was in the fore front defending his daughter

  54. Hahahahahah!!!

Good joke! We are going to elect a corpse for President in 2016!

And standing against him? Maybe a donkey? But then the donkey will win – he has an animal driven CONSTITUTION.

Or go back to UNIP days and let us have a frog on the ballot paper! The only one that will survive the sinking of pabwato.
