PRESIDENT Michael Sata addressing Cabinet and journalists at State House in Lusaka yesterday

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has advised Zambians to desist from speaking mockingly about Republican President Michael Sata’s health.

EFZ Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza told Qfm News that Zambians should show maturity instead of making fun of the health of the President.

Rev. Mwanza said whether the President is sick or not, it is wrong for Zambians to continue talking about his health in a mocking manner.

He said those that think the President is not in good health should instead commit him in prayers.

Rev. Mwanza added that the President is a human being like any other person and can fall sick at any time.

He said that those aspiring for the high office of President should be the last ones to laugh at the president when he falls sick.

Rev. Mwanza further stated that it is the President who is in a better position to say whether he is well or not instead speculating on his health.

Rev. Mwanza further stressed that President Sata is the leader for all Zambians and no one should wish him ill health, but that people should pray for his strength so that he continues leading the country and completes his term.

  1. Ba Reverand did you advise him when he was mocking Levy Mwanawase? Do not take double standards Sata was mocking Geoge Kunda and levy why should we not mock him.

    • Sata mocked Mwanawasa, Kunda and Mazoka when they were sick, he mocked their illnesses on RADIO, on TV, in the Post and during rallies, so if he won’t mock himself, we will. He is a grown up and he should have known that what he was doing was a wrong thing.

    • We don’t want him to finish his term because he will finish Zambia…we shall pray for him to step down as president for the good of Zambia’s future.

    • I AGREE WITH YOU.THE BIBLE SAYS LET GOD BE TRUE AND MAN A LIER.SO IF GOD HAS SAID YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW,NO HUMAN BEING OR SPIRIT CAN CHANGE THIS.IF PRESIDENT SATA DOSE NOT REAP WHAT HE SOWED IN THE PAST,THEN GOD WILL BE CALLED A LIER.YOU KNOW THE TRUTH VERY WELL SO ENCOURAGE THE PRESIDENT THAT HE IS JUST REAPING WHAT HE SOWED AND LET HIM REPENT,WILL JOIN HIM IN PRAYERS AND WE HAVE ALREADY STARTED DOING SOO…

    • IIt was difficulty to find who will preach at Sata’s funeral:
      – Fr. Bwalya? NO no no no
      – Pastor Never Mumba? No No No
      – Pastor Pule? No no no no
      – Bishop Mambo? no no no the PF will beat him again.
Thank God we found one today: Rev. PUKUTA MWANZA

    • He laughed at Mwanawasa sickness, Mazoka, George Kunda and others when they were in need of prayer and sympathy- these are people with wives and children- I will never feel sorry for this moron’s sickness and the earlier he packs the better. He has already messed up the country’s economy and cheated his way to the top- he needs to go- ne cakumulya calibula.

    • Are you aware that the late Anderson Mazoka used to mock Mwanawasa?or is it just question of you ignoring that fact because he was your choice of president?

    • Those mocking Sata or any other person for that matter must you that……

“No one will ever leave life alive”

    • Let the dead bury the dead.. i man am a living man and i have work to do.

      Bob N Marley

    • ba Pukuta the statement you are giving is actually the biggest and direct way of mocking sata. mulelandila mumapinda bamudala. besides who is mocking him anyway? after all sata has told us that he is as fit as a fiddle

    • @Nelly, your thinking is very wrong. So if Sata mocked others you also must mock him so that others will mock you as well? You people are demons! You reap what you sow.If Sata is reaping what he sowed, you’ll also reap what you’re sowing. That’s it!

    • Ba ftj,Your interpretation of the bible is so awful that sometimes I doubt if you’re even a Christian.God doesn’t think like you and avoid bringing the name of God in your useless politics. You think the ‘you will reap what you sow’ will end with Sata?Do you know that you’re going to reap what you’re sowing right now as well?Ask God to forgive you for using His name in vain before you start experiencing issues with your family.God can’t be mocked.

    • Double standards Ba Pukuta Mwanza. We know what was happening during the time of Mwanawasa, the beauty of today’s world everything is on You Tube for all to refer to.

    • SOME PEOPLE HAVE SHORT MEMORIES,NOT LONG AGO SATA USED TO MOCK, LEVY,KUNDA,CHILUBA AND MAZOKA,FOR HIM TO BE PRESIDENT AND ALL THOSE WHO ARE SYMPATHISING WITH SATA TODAY USED TO ENJOY THAT BA PUKUTA MWANZA,HAVE U FORGOTTEN?WHY DIDN’T U DEFEND THESE PEOPLE?,WHY NOW?WE SHALL CONTINUE MOCKING SATA EVEN IN HIS DEATH,WE SHALL MOCK HIM BECAUSE THATS WHAT HE USED TO DO TO HIS COLLEAGUES.IF EACT HE IS VERY LUCKY WE HAVE NOT WRITTEN A LETTER TO THE CHIEF JUSTICE THE WAY HE DID TO LEVY TO INVESTIGATE HIS MENTAL STATUS AND DOES NOT DESERVE ANY PRAYERS LET HIM GO.HE PROMISED US THE CONSTITUTION IN 90 DAYS! WHICH HE HAS FAILED TO FUFIL AND MANY MORE!!!!

  2. But do you remember that it is Sata himself who brought about this culture of mocking other people about their health. What goes around comes round. Times have caught up with him.

    • BUT I THOUGHT THE REV SAID WE SHOULD SHOW MATURITY AND COMMIT THE PRESIDENT IN PRAYER TO GOD. LETS LEAVE EVERYTHING IN THE HANDS OF GOD. VENGENCE BELONGS TO GOD. THANK YOU!

    • I also remember Mwanawasa moking Ba Sata that alepolomya because he is sick. Except some of you can only remember what suits you. Well, the good news is that only God knows when you and I will die. It is also true that some of you may not live to see the president Sata Die.

  3. Well said Evangelical Fellowship, indeed it is very wrong for anyone to mock another over illness. Lusaka Times, some of your readers and commentators should be ashamed with yourselfs, how would you feel when someone both wishes you to be ill and takes delight if you fall ill. Please my fellow Zambians whether you are UPND or MMD let’s respect the President, he is a good man that wants the best for all of us. God bless President Sata and protect him from the evil wishes of the devil and his followers.

    • Yes we should not mock him but he definitely does not mean well for Zambia and Zambians. No one is mocking him. It is just the media informing us of his condition as a President. He should accept that when he became a President, he also became a public figure. Therefore whatever he does will be in the open. UPND has never mocked him. I challenge anyone to produce the excerpts of what UPND said to mock him. He who cries for rain cries for mud also and Mr. Sata is in that mud. This President and his party are the worst Zambia has ever had. Their understanding of development is never beyond political rhetoric. No wonder they are so scared of the opposition. This is ridiculous!

    • ati “he’s good man” – your definition of good is unbelievable!! kapena nichizunga chavuta chabe mwe!

  4. Look at those bald heads in this cabinet meeting.
You expect this country to progress with these fossils.

  5. It is because Zambians have few things to amuse them.Politics of hate, rumours and character assassination is their daily bread. They basically don`t have much to occupy their time.

  6. People will stop mocking him if he does the honourable thing – step down on health grounds. He should let the country move forward. Mr Pukuta Mwanza advise Sata to do like wise or else the masses will PUKUTA( erase) him off the earth.

    • @Nelly, your thinking is very wrong. So if Sata mocked others you also must mock him so that others will mock you as well? You people are demons! You reap what you sow.If Sata is reaping what he sowed, you’ll also reap what you’re sowing. That’s it!

  7. There is a simple solution to all this.
WORK FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION!

    Let us see the work.

If we see the Kwacha deteriorate this quickly …

Let us assume that Zambia was a company and the company was failing to perform even basic tasks – we blame the CEO. We ask if the CEO is “aware” of what is happening? We ask if he needs help, or perhaps a short break.

Same here — our country is not doing well. In fact, our country is performing terrible horrible bad. We need to question our CEO! It is our right!

    #OneZambia

    • And the CEO must face the employees to explain the state of the company and his vision. The employees would want some questions answered.

      Sata must face the nation

    • THE PRESIDENT IS SICK AND OUR KWACHA IS ALSO SICK,WHATS THE WAY FORWAD?WE JUST HAVE TO REMOVE THEM FROM OFFICE AND BRING THE HEALTH ONES AND THE KWACHA WILL APPRECIATE,PERIOD!!!!!!!!

  8. When sata was mocking mwanawasa, kunda and otherwise, did he think of himself as a mature Christian person or as an agent of the devil?now that the same devil is teaching him what others felt,he set the standard to kaponyas .if my neighbor ‘s health is deteriorating at an alarming rate,as a good neighbor,I have to inquire from him and if he says he is healthy and fit,but why are not active like before?why u stop going to church, why he stopped visiting his projects. We all know his health is being denied for the peace and stability of the country.

  9. ….I don’t think what I have head so far is tantamount to mocking. In a situation were insufficient information is available, speculations germinate. After all, how can you mock some-one of his health who is well and fit..??…The problem has been the evident contrast between the physical appearance/actions and what we are being told by those around him. You can pray for a person who is WELL and FIT for the almighty to protect that person from all evil, disease and sickness and shower him with wisdom ,strength and continued health. You can also pray for the sick asking the almighty to rid of their ailments(heal)…..Now, Rev Pukuta please advise, which of the two scenario should we embark on..??..sick or fit..??

  10. Lesa ni maliotola! Sata must first publicly apologise to the Mwanawasa, Mazoka, Kunda and Chiluba families for the mockery they were subjected to by him on radio, TV and political rallies when their husbands , parents and relatives were indisponsed due to accident , illness etc. He set a very bad precedence and that is why his political rivals are now taking this wicked gibes at him since it is him who insire them, being in opposition for ten years and all, insulting political opponents, mocking sick rivals etc. They just want to be like him because in their political club, he is their mentor. What goes around , comes around. You reap what you sow, on earth or in heaven Mr. Rev. Pukuta Mwanza!

  11. SATA IS SICK AND VERY SICK PERIOD.WHY ARE WE EVEN PRETENDING.LOOK AT HIS PALE FACE AND AKAMUKOSHI KWATI KAKWA BABY.
THIS REVERAND HAS NOTHING TO DO HEs JUST WASTING PRECIOUS TIME WITH THINGS THAT ARE ABLE TO BE SEEN BY PEOPLE.SATA IS SICK MWE BANTU

    • You also remember what you have just said when others will be making fun of your neck when THAT time comes. It doesn’t matter how long it takes

    • AT ONE TIME SATA TOLD US NOT TO BELIEVE WHAT PUKUTA MWANZA SAYS BECAUSE THE NAME”PUKUTA”MEANS A MAD PERSON,WAS SATA RIGHT OR WRONG?

  12. Yah bamudala bayonda on this LT picture,I used to think zmwdog distorting his images.if he leaves us ,lets not vote for kabimba as I hear that he is also sick, lets try,
    …edgar Lungu
    …HH
    ….miles Sampa
    …nevers mumba.
    ….elias chipimo

  13. His excellency will live forever. Its like this: the insults or praise pipo make on God cant add or subtract to the fact he is God. What of yo mockings? They are just like a puff of air. Sory they cant change anything sir. Its just a minor set back and our predent will recover to nicely whip HH and the Doc in 2016. But the good thing is he is healthier than all of u combined. Fulu stop

    • You wish… start collecting money for his coffin rather than wish for the impossible.

What goes around comes around… and every dog has it day. Unfortunately for Ukwa the day has arrived and nothing can change it

    • Hahahahahaha! Good joke! I fell out of my chair laughing!

      Let him live forever! Hahahahaha!

Good. Then we can keep on doing to him as he has done to others! We can mock him for even longer!

The only problem is that the people of Zambia will be suffering more and more!

  14. Sata is a curse to this country. His quick departure will be a blessing to all Zambians, including his PF carders. The above picture confirms one thing, the man will soon leave us in peace.

    • I have been of the same view; only Sata’s death shall save Zambia. We shall get rid of the cartel, of the so called fossils, incompetent workers such a Dr. Gondwe, family forest from the diplomatic service, deal with the economy etc…..

  15. EFZ, where were you when Sata mocked Levy, chiluba, Kunda and mazoka over their health? And have you commented about Sata mocking people with bold heads?

  16. Let’s be clear; Sata is being mocked not so much for his bad leadership even though that also deserves mockery, but for the vitriol, scorn and vituperation that he poured on others when they were sick. Without any proper reason other than that they were his political opponents, Sata took a perverse joy and misguided satisfaction in mocking others for their suffering. Even after Mwanawasa saved him from certain death, Sata continued with his mockery. He is at heart a beastly, cruel and evil man who deserves no sympathy. Until he shows remorse for the heartless behavior he exhibited against Mazoka, Kunda, Mwanawasa and other sick people, Zambians will continue to mock this dictator in his current illness.

    • In English it is called POETIC JUSTICE!

Let’s mock this village IDI0T until he either resigns or dies. He has asked for it, and is now getting exactly what he deserves.

The choice is his. If he RESIGNS today, the mocking will stop. If he is so F00LISH as to continue LYING to the people of Zambia, he deserves to be treated like a DOG.

    • @Deep Thinker
Sata has made it impossible for a normal person to say nice things about him. It’s so difficult to think about some redeeming feature about him. Whatever he has to his small credit side is dwarfed and swamped by his diabolic actions. Actually it feels like a sin to sympathize with Katongo. You might as well sympathize with the devil. You can predict correctly that when Sata kicks the bucket there will be massive countrywide celebrations, another first for Zambia. You can’t blame the people for this unnatural occurrence but Sata again.

  17. I think uyu Reverend na pena, na PUKUTA! He should first have addressed Sata himself on his past mischief of mockery and then appeal to the rest of us on what
    he thinks is best …

  18. The man is not well. Because of his style of leadership inertia has set in in the various functions of government. He would be well advised to move over so he “does not hold the nation to ransom” for nursing a sick man when wheels of nation must continue to turn. He must step aside to recuperate. His staying on in office is hurting the nation more than is necessary.

    • True! The man is a liability to this country. His inability to leave Nkwazi House and check on various projects his government is spending millions of Kwacha on is costing us alot. The Chinese are milking us. They have conived with our zambian engineers to construct cheap, substandard roads which can’t last a decade. May the good Lord take away this evil man!

  19. Fellow Country Men,

This man called Sata is just reaping what he sowed. I totally agree with all those of you who are of the opinion that Sata must first apologies to the late Mwanawasa, Mazoka and GK families for playing silly and childish politics using their healthy. He must first apologies publicly to them and then we shall forgive him and wipe the plate clean. Then no more silly jokes on someones healthy in future. I personally forgive him.

  20. Fellow Bloggers

How old was Sata when he was making fun of the late brothers? I dont live in Zambia. Someone furnish us please?
    Good day!

  21. He used to mock LPM, AM and GK. We wont stop as well until we see him in the grave. u think tulesekelamo

  22. In as much as I have never surported the PF. Its policies and its leaders my African culture restrains me from insulting let alone mocking my elders, and HE. MCS is no exception, my you aside from being a president of a country he is a father and grand father, try to think for a moment if one of you young boys who insult where mulenga or kazimu or indeed any of his children feel about it reading about some of the an palatables that you write about? So let’s learn to engage with our leaders objectively.

    • @ honourable k.k.s

Is it because those he mocked have no families or are not human enough to have felt the pain???????

  23. Iwe Pukuta Mwanza ikalafye ngataukwete ifyakulanda. Ilyo ishilu mu State House lyaleseka Mazoka, Mwanawasa and George Kunda. What has changed? Let him taste the dose of his medicine. Shaa!

  24. Ba Rev Mwanza, you are preaching to the converted, instead you will do everybody justice if you advised Sata to step down, not for health reasons alone, but also for allowing the economy to tumble and failure to fulfill his election promises. More Money in the pocket, better roads and hospitals, jobs for the youth and a new constitution.
Most Zambians already know that it is immoral to mock the sick or show disrespect to elders. Please go and preach to Sata that it is immoral not fulfill your promises without apologising .

  25. Really he is just tasting his own medicine. I remember him saying Ley Mwanawasa’s brain was picked up from the accident scene and placed back into the skull by the Doctors. How can someone speak like about a friend who was sick? God forbid!!

    • If Sata has an accident and the doctors have to find his brain to put back in his skull they will have a problem!

Either is is too small to see, or it does not even exist!

  26. The temperature is raising, President Sata is in trouble. No amount of firefighting will save PF. Umpires stop the fight it is a TKO. Everything is coming down like a Tsunami, Political “Climate Change” is affecting Zambia ” The ICEBERG IS MELTING”
Zambia has been hit by a political ” Nuclear” Bomb.
PF take cover , MAY DAY MAY DAY.

Rev PUKUTA MWANZA & ETAL Pray for ZAMBIA!

  27. Whether sick or not, I shall pray for Michael Charles Katongo Chilufya Sata since at the moment he is the only one that the Lord has given us. I shall pray for him day and night so that he leads this country properly and that God gives him good health!

Michael, do your thing! All I want of you is that which you promised us! In Jesus’ name I pray – AMEN.

  28. And now the ministers are getting fat sitting in Lusaka…! (‘Struth, proximity can exaggerate/highlight the contrast between two seemingly “fit” individuals).

  29. If the President is indeed fit and well as the PF claim, it’s frightening to think this is the very best their so-called “man of action” can do.

    ……imagine if he were sick!

  30. But most zambians are very useless!i can assure you that most bloggers finding joy in hearing that the president is unwell are so damn. What ever way you would want to present your facts on the condition of the president, there is no justification in mocking him. Most of us HH supporters should not find pride in this development, because this may happen to him as well.

    • It is not about “finding joy…”. It is a sober reality that all so soon, we see a man caught in his own trap and dancing to the tune of his own music. It is as though when he used to mock others, the whole country used to listen. May be God was never too happy with him either, for saying the things he used to say against the sick. Much as it is a lesson to us all, it is paramount to note that he who used to laugh at others when they were sick, is himself being laughed at when he is sick. May it end with him. This man has an evil heart.

Remember how be behaved during Mwanawasa’s funeral, and how the widow, Maurine, could not stand his behavior and decided to chase him away, instead? It is not very often that one is chased away from a funeral. But Sata was.

  31. For once I have started to doubt the relevance of the “Christian Nation” Clause in our constitution given the mocking remarks flying all over on the President’s purported ill health…I thought people should mock the policies if there is any dichotomy…if at all the President is sick,we need to pray for his recovery you remnants of ancient Philistine.

    • Not everyone is a Christian a declaration that was made out of selfishness by the “Christian” so urge the christians to pray and don’t stifle others from doing what they want in their beliefs. As an atheist I feel it serves the president right that he should not have seen himself invincible when he made jest of colleagues’ health! Reverend Mwanza speak for yourself and your followers despite the declaration you so cherished about Zambia being a ‘christian’ you have lamentably failed to make it behave christian!

  32. BA REV, HAVE NOW NOTICED HOW THE CHURCHES IN ZAMBIA HAVE ALL GONE INTO POLITICS INSTEAD OF STICKING AND CONCENTRATING ON TEACHING THE MASSES LOVING ONE ANOTHER. THE CHURCH IS MASSIVELY TO BLAME. CHURCHES HAVE TURNED INTO SERIOUS FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS THAT ARE ALL OUT THERE TO NOT PREACH THE WRITTEN WORD BUT FUND RAISE AT GIVEN OPPORTUNITY. EVEN WHEN ONE READS IN ESPECIALLY ELECTRONIC PAPERS’ BLOGS THERE’S SO MUCH HATE IN ZAMBIANS’ LANGUAGE AND YOU WONDER WHY. THE COUNTRY’S CHRISTIANITY IS JUST ON PAPER BECAUSE THE PREACHERS ARE EITHER ON HOLIDAY (USING TITHE), OR POLITICKING. THERE’S SO MUCH VACUUM CREATED BY THE CLERGY IN ZAMBIA.

  33. Very wrong statement by the Rev. Mwanza. As a church leader, the Rev. needs to speak what Sata needs to hear and not speaking to please. Rev. is not doing any good to Sata.

  34. Very wrong statement by Rev. Mwanza. As a church leader, the Rev. needs to speak what Sata needs to hear and not speaking to please. Rev. is not doing any good to Sata.

  35. Country men, those mocking Sata’s illness should realize the dangers of revenge. What will happen when their parents have bowel or kidney cancer? Should we then rejoice that they are suffering from horrible diseases. Please take heed.

  36. How many days does Chilufya Katongo work to justify his hefty salary? What is his job descripti on? Ukushoba amaMinisters yakwe??????

  37. Country men and women, boys and girls, let us not do tit for tat. If I was wrong the way I did something, let others not follow the same pattern because Jesus said that “An eye for an eye” is not part of the New Testament teaching. If some body did wrong, let us not do the same. In fact we should pray for all those who do wrong things so that one day they will realize the wrong in their conduct.
