Police appeal to woman in nude video to come forward

Share

Police are appealing to the woman whose nudity was captured on a video posted on social media to come forward and assist in bringing the people behind the video to book.

Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda told QFM News in an interview that the woman should forego her embarrassment of the ordeal and come forward and help Police to bring the perpetrators to book.

Ms. Chanda disclosed that no one has come forward so far to give information leading to the arrest of the people behind the video posted on social media of a nude woman who was harassed after being caught committing adultery.

Ms. Chanda said the Police are continuing with their investigations on the ground to establish people behind the video.

Police have offered a reward of K5, 000 for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the people behind the nude video.

And Police have appealed to the church and members of the public to partner with it if the rampant circulation of pornographic pictures and videos on social media in the country is to be curbed.

Ms. Chanda said Police hold the position that the church and members of public have a role to play in guarding against moral decay.

  1. Those pipo look like they are from the copperbelt especially Ndola. You can tell from the kind of bemba they were using. That girl you never know maybe they could have even killed her. They might have taken her to some unknown place how come she has not come out to report them to the police.

    • i am surprised that the police have not made any arrests up to now when the faces of the perpetrators are clearly identifiable and there is a name of a police officer mentioned.

since most people in Zambia don’t have access to internet, why can’t the police take still frames and circulate them in newspapers and on tv?

maybe the victim is not even aware that police want her to come forward

      Its that simple

    • @Gen

Why are you surprised, when the police ‘s priority is to arrest and harrass opposition leaders because they easy targets. Police under PF have lost the acumen to investigate real crime because each time they make a break through they find that its a PF member behind the crime they abandon the case.

Police under PF are not to fight crime but to fight the opposition party leaders by banning radio stations from hosting them. They become so useless that they all need to be changed once and for all.

    • Iwe Wnzelu, everything to you is political. Why can’t you for once shut up. We are sick and tired of your comments. You are not the only intelligent guy around. Eishhh!

  2. That woman would have to be crazy to want to embarrass herself a second time. She survived humiliation and surely doesn’t need anyone to rub it in. Just let her be. Mwakosapo shani? You will start asking her what happened and she has to relive the whole episode – who does such? Leave her alone, just go and harrass the opposition if you have nothing better to do

  3. The police service or is it police force must show some element of seriousness and professionalism…….the content on the video has everything a competent crime investigator would need to easily identify and round up people who were on the scene of crime. Some buildings are clearly marked with business name and some faces of individuals are very clear.
Suppose the lady had died….who would the police rely on to bring who ever they are looking for to book? The lady was so embroiled in the fracas that she could not find a moment to see who is taking ‘pictures/video’, not even the ladies who were fighting her.
Just identify the location and show the video to a few blocks, it may help
What would the police do if that was a fatal robbery?

  4. Yes it is now time the police where trying to make some arrests after someone was mistreated but leaving Post Newspaper which used to publicize on a broad day light in the presence of the ministers and some like Masumba and Taima. Why not arresting those women who have dishonored us ladies in the public? This all shows that our POLICE are selective and retrogressive in their operations.

  5. It’s shocking to hear that no one has been brought to book up to now. What is sickening is the fact that the perpetrator of the crime, in the video is heard boasting about being tipped off by a police officer ati “ka Lungu (or some similar Eastern name). Why hasn’t that same Police officer mentioned in the video reported the matter, I am pretty sure he has seen this video.

What the Police should do is to promise this woman some confidentiality and not expose her to the media. It’s not enough just to say “the woman should forego her embarrassment “. Promise her that she will not be paraded in front of the cameras.

  6. Do you need Scotland Yard to come and investigate the matter?Where it happened the place is visible. What more do law enforcement people want?

  7. Just a clarification, are the police looking for the people who shot the video or the perpetrators of the crime in the video?

    • Yes, they are looking for those same people who shot the video especially the wife to the man who was issuing instructions to the men to photograph the victims private parts. The woman who was undressed has got no criminal case to answer, she is the victim.

  8. That video is from Mufulira , Chalo wandia they mentioned is in Mufuira town, near section 8 P kantanshi town ship, plus Ka police ka PHIRI aka ma Smart , who is found with Bonaza is in Mufulira too.

  9. The man at the center of the controversy has obviously pleaded with the victim to remain silent so as to protect himself, his wife and the assailants. The police can take screen shots from the video and post them in the public media. In case they don’t know how to do it their colleagues at ZICTA know how to do it. Justice delayed is justice denied. There is already evidence that a crime was committed so why should the police wait for a complainant?

  10. It is surprising that the men who were around could not stop this, probably uk fwaya uku tamba basicopo. The video is a shame and imwe tu kapokola pa Zed na muya sana. Every thing in the video is clear. At the end there is a woman wrapping chitenga on the hapless woman with the help of a man. Go and talk to those instead issue useless requests in the press, blood d.o.g.s
