Government has admitted that there was communication breakdown over the absence of President Michael Sata at State House on Saturday which led to the continued presence of Zambia Army sentries at the main gate.
Defence Minister Edgar Lungu said it was miscommunication which resulted in the failure to inform the authorities in charge of sentries to withdraw the military guards following the President’s travel to Israel.
[pullquote]Father Bwalya said President Sata deserves a break considering that he has been working very hard[/pullquote]
Mr. Lungu has since apologized for the communication breakdown.
Meanwhile Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) president Frank Bwalya has wished President Sata well on his working holiday in Israel.
Father Bwalya said President Sata should take advantage of the working holiday to woo investors to Zambia.
He said President Sata deserves a break considering that he has been working very hard.
Fr. Bwalya told QFM News that initiatives like the one the Head of State has taken to visit Israel can help the country develop, stating that no investor can come to the country without being approached.

So in short Edgar Lungu is telling us that him and the ministry of defense did not know that Sata was out of the country.
We have foools in for leaders
Kikikiki, Lungu would you have made that confession if the whereabouts of Sata were not leaked? Shame on you.
No – what Lungu is saying is that the president left in such a hurry there was no time to communicate properly with every stakeholder. Remember the head of state is on a working holiday!
It was not only on Saturday but the whole day on Sunday too. It was a deliberate error of omission to deceive the nation in thinking the Presido was at State House and yet not.
Some said, that the PF has a “top Secret” that is known by the whole world. It is becoming increasingly painful and frustrating whenever a Govt official ducts the truth that Sata is seriously ill and was evacuated to seek medical attention. It is not a coincidence and certainly not a “communication breakdown” that the army sentries continued with their roles at state house. It is equally not a coincidence that, with the exception of the “inner circle” no one knew Sata’s plans for a “working holiday” in Israel wooing investors “in secrecy…what a bunch of….
This is what has characterised PF’s reign from day one, haphazard, incoherency, disorganised, no unit of purpose, ministers pulling in different directions, etc. And what is surprising is that the man at the helm, claims to have vast amount of experience having served as branch/ward official, Governor, MP, Minister, Minister without portfolio and Presidente!!
So what that means is that do not vote for someone who has been through all those positions but someone who is successful in whatever they are doing. As for me, as their cousin; aBemba anisebanya maningi, baliko fasti pakamwa manja tiyeni tiganize, awe baziche fili eko tuleya.
Is father Bwalya being sarcastic or has ran out church money to run his mis-guided political career?
you’re mind is alwayas on the critising side. just coz father Bwalya has said nice things about MCS and you start wapping your mouth carelessly. you’re just like your opposition fimo fimo monority bulls who are always critising even they’re told it’s time to eat by their wives, they criticise the wife ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, kikikikikikikikiki
I meant criticising, not critising ,,,, lol
Chiwanangala: You meant circumcising. lol
Frank Bwalya knows as well as everybody else that Sata cannot woo investors in his condition. Who are we kidding here?
What working very hard? Fr Bwalya I agree is somehow confused also. Better keep quiet like HH and Mumba and others are doing. That is presidential.
Imwe he is just teasing the Sata & PF cant you read between the lines!
Father Bwalya is being sarcastic and that is what PF needs but i think they are so dull that they would know what sarcasm is all about even if it hit them on the head.
father bwalya
you have talked sense
Frank Bwalya has now been compromised. Insala Bashi Mapepo yaingila. How sad
That is satire from Frank Bwalya or maybe he is being sarcastic.
Read and Understand the message……….the wish is not in good faith
Father Bwalya has seen a leadership gap and his soft comments are meant to announce his availability should PF want someone to lead them.
ABZ YOU ARE NOW TALKING POLITICS AT LEAST YOU ARE BECOMMING MATURE IN YOUR POLITICAL CAREAR I SUPPORT ABZ NOW THESE ARE THE POLITICS WE WANT NOT OF INSULTS
I think Lungu has admitted the glaring mistake because the PF this time around were caught with their pants down. Otherwise, the PF never admit that they have made mistakes and that’s why they will rule for one term only. They never accept any advice from others because all along they have portrayed a know-it-all stance. They have actually managed to de-market themselves big time by their arrogance. We are waiting to vote them out. I wish 2016 could be tomorrow so that we can quickly get rid of these idio.ts. They have really looted the country’s coffers big time. They are all wealthy from stolen money. Whoever takes over in 2016 must ensure that every coin taken from the country’s treasury is accounted for.
Who is ‘we’? Speak for yourself!
@ Mungoma
I am one of the “we” @Questionner is referring to
I know ten of the ‘we’ and I am one of the ‘we’
I too am one of the “WE”!
in the morning we wake up with lies from PF and we sleep in the evening with lies
again.
As Bwalya says he has worked extremely hard to deserve this holiday as he said that all his ministers are uselesss so he is doing everyones job?
Lungu is lieing. Unfortunately he has been made to do this. It is not possible to have a communication breakdown at that level. Unless the President left in such a hurry! Even then, i would like to believe that at the time of handing over the intruments of Power to Kabimba to act, amoung the Witness would be the commanders of the defences forces. Otherwise, how would they recognise Kambimba if they dont witness the hand over. If they dont witness the hand over, they may construe that a coup has taken place. So in a nutshell, they was no communication breakdown but rather a calculated move to deceive the nation. We we are so enlightened now that this has backfired. Now they would like to justfy all this with lies and just compunding the whole situation and ultimatley embarassing themselves.
kekekekekekee..yakosa pa Zed..
What Edgar Lungu has just said now raises eyebrows at least for me..Now am finding it hard to believe whether the President is truly ok. Could the President have been evacuated? was he in a very serious condition that they didn’t want the army to know that the President was being flown out? This makes me to really wonder, it even questions why this time is Kabimba acting as President when all other times he never did? Guy Scott said he was part of the People that wrote the statement that Kabimba was to be acting President while the President was away, so could it be that only Guy Scott and Kabimba knew about the really condition of the President? and they secretly sneaked him out of the country? especially that Guy Scott doesnt also know when the President will be back? full of ???? now
father bwalya is being sarcastic.what a fooling and some people say mature politics
Since the nation won’t trust PF to tell the truth so all are welcome to speculate and postulate theories about the health state of the president. Last time people saw Sata they saw a dying man. So we can safely assume that by deliberately hiding the whereabouts of the president, something very bad has happened to him, and they are determined to do their ‘donchi kubeba’ thing right to the end. If you doubted that ours must be the most daft govt on earth, evidence stares you in the face daily. What happens under PF govt just doesn’t happen anywhere. Bushe, by holding on to the untruth that the president is well what do they hope to achieve?
Assuming the President was flown by Zambia Air Force helicopter to the airport as he normally does, how come there was miscommunication with the Army which provides security at State House as to his whereabouts? Wow, the C-in-C gone awol!
Probably in a drunken stupor wondering why foreigners are operating airstrips in Zambia!!????????????
The `don’t Kubeba’ slogan was never meant for the ruling party(MMD) at that time. I’m sure the cobra didn’t make himself clear to his blindly followers that the slogan would affect everyone. We were very excited & chanting about all this. Now that I have sat down & critically analysed the SLOGAN & the name COBRA, nothing is positive about it.
It’s sad that PF can not say the truth because from onset, they have been lying.. and most definitely u can only sustain a lie by lying. I hundred percent positive that Mr Lungu ineeds fully aware of what’s happening & it will backfire right before his nose. Another strangest thing, of all odds, suddenly Mr Sata appointed Kabimba to act just in case he (Sata) doesn’t come back from the dead. Mind u Kabimba knows every secret…
I sympathise with the Presidential guards for having empty tins as bosses…they are making clowns out of them; this has never happened before. I don’t blame you if you call in sick when the old man or interim president takes office.
Kwena … ati the sentries guarding the palace remained there after Sata escaped! What then is their job? A notorious inmate left without their knowledge?? …
YABA ZAMBIAN POLITICIANS ARE FUNNY, FR BWALYA IS JUST FOOLING THE PRESIDENCY THATS EXACTLY OPPOSITE WHAT HE MEANS
Can you imagine even the whole defense minister that the president was leaving the country. What a party! What a government!
