The Forum for Democratic Alternative (FDA) has challenged government to clear the anxieties that have gripped the nation regarding the republican president’s health and put a stop to speculations which are exposing the presidency to ridicule both locally and internationally.

FDA President Ludwig Sondashi says It is essential and imperative for government to clear the anxieties that has gripped the nation ever since the head of state travelled to Israel for a working holiday.

Mr. Sondashi noted that conflicting and contradictory statement from senior government officials are only fueling speculations about the president’s health.

“The country is getting chocked with speculations, rumours and innuendos about President Sata’s physical health. It is essential and imperative for government to clear the anxieties that has gripped the nation ever since the head of state travelled to Israel for a working holiday.

“Conflicting and contradictory statement from government particularly from Vice – President Guy Scott and acting Information and Broadcasting Minister Mwansa Kapeya have not helped and to top it all up President Sata’s arrived back home from Israel has been shrouded in secrecy fueling speculations that the head of State is not in sound health.

“Speculations, rumors and innuendos are just exposing the presidency to ridicule both locally and internationally as can be seen by an application to compel government to constitute a medical board to examine the physical and mental status of the president which has been filed in the high Court by a civil rights activist Brebner Changala,” Mr. Sondashi said.

The opposition leader further challenged government to issue a comprehensive statement as the regards the health of the president.

“As a Party we would like government to make a comprehensive statement regarding the health of the head of State as it was creating a lot of anxiety among citizens.

“Lastly it has become absolutely necessary in Public interest to consider the state of the health of the head of state bearing in mind that the health of President can not be hidden from the Public forever sooner or later the truth is bound to come out,” he added.

And the Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development has challenged republican president Michael Sata to show that he is well and performing his duties by swearing in the Attorney General and Solicitor General whose names were recently ratified by parliament.

FDD spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says the president should immediately swear in the duo as their constitution value is of great importance to the smooth operations of government.

Mr. Mwanza noted that being the principal legal adviser to the government it is imperative that the Attorney General is sworn in without further delay.

“The failure by president Michael Sata to swear in the Attorney General and the Solicitor General is a great source of worry looking at the constitution functions that these offices have.

“The Attorney General is the principal legal adviser to the government; he is in charge of drafting all government bills and there is no government contract or government agreement that can be concluded without the legal advise of the Attorney general.

[pullquote]”The failure by president Michael Sata to swear in the Attorney General and the Solicitor General is a great source of worry looking at the constitution functions that these offices have.[/pullquote]

We wonder why the president has failed to swear in the Attorney General and the Solicitor General long after parliament had approved these names; dose it mean that government has stopped having agreements and contracts or it is doing that without the advise of the Attorney General?” Mr. Mwanza wondered.

He also noted that the failure by the republican president swear in the duo is an indication that the country is on autopilot which needs to be stopped as the nation risks collapsing if it continues in the same direction.

“This surly indicates that the country is on autopilot and it has to be stopped because there is no government that can effectively function without the expert advise of the Attorney General so we are challenging president Sata to swear in the Attorney General and Solicitor General failure to which we shell be left with no option but to take legal action,” Mr Mwanza said.

    • please hard nuts PF cadres,,,,,,, ludwig sondashi is offering free sondashi formula to your Sata if and when you admit that Sata is ill!

    • Iwe Ndobo, Dr. Sondashi helps those who have biological illness, not spiritual and mental healthy.
Our Sata (you said your Sata), yes OUR Sata is being troubled ku fyaku bantu. Bashi Lubemba may help. Seriously, God need to help Ba Sata, enough is enough, or maybe he fine and fit, but just shy to come in open!?

    • Mr. sondashi instead of speculating as well, can give him your formullar for him to leave beyond 2016 so that he sees real development under his excellency HH.

    • MHSRIP ….let’s prep for presidential election the old man has greatly mismanaged the country as evidenced by his appointments in key positions. We don’t need an embalmed Sata in State House…we have already been slowed down. Surely if we can function for almost 2 months without him then we don’t need him sponging off tax payer’s.

    • all bloggers, please help me collate the names of all those die hard PF supporters on this LT blog before they disappear like woodrats never to seen again.

    • This is really getting out of hand! More delaying tactics.

Can someone please file a Writ of Habeus Corpus against the Government so that Sata can be found?

It seems this is the only way to make sure he is not actually dead or being held hostage by the Cartel.

    • ba mwisho ba sondashi, you know that sata is obviously sick or very sick. is it a question of wanting to be head? just propose what should be done to correct the situation and not your inquiry which is out dated. wish you well aneba

    • If you ever wondered how colonialism was possible in africa you just have to read the comments from the bloggers here. Very twisted thinking… Thats why pa Zed development kulabakofye until we mature.

    • Mmembe seems to have blown his brain valves of late as result of the turning of KING COBRA into KING CABBAGE.In all his editorials of late he has been quoting the bible too much. I think its a way of trying to apologise to the Zambians for helping usher into government a rogue regime.

Today he made me laugh by encouraging politician to restore KK’s humility in politics. I wonder when exactly Mmembe decided to patronise KK, the man he ripped apart and helped to bring down in the 90s. I think he is trying to build bridges with all the people he wronged now that his butt has been exposed.

To make matters worse, his favourite candidate , Kabimba has been shoved aside from the PF leadership contest. No one will protect him from the jaws of law come the next government.

      Mmembe is…

    • @Bemba Bimbo, I like your drift and verbiage in most of your blogs including this one. I can profile most people through their use of the English register and your one is on the higher end. That leaves me to think we might have been besieged by the kaponyas b4 sponsored by PF to drum up support over social media but have now run out of talk-time as there is confusion in their ranks. What’s happening in the country is unprecedented anywhere in the world and a shock on how undemocratic our said democracy is and supporting the unsupportable is the highest treachery ever. Search your hearts and put jokes aside – this has become a PF failure that would be so funny if it wasn’t so sad!
Great people have come led in situations like this one or indeed died in search of the truth and justice.

  1. Who doesn’t know that our president is unwell? Guy Scott and Kapeya should stop mocking the president and must stop telling lies in parliament. I need help, how does our parliamentary procedure work. Chief Justice was not approved but she is working, if anything happened to our president, God forbid, CJ would act as president since there is no VP; Attorney General and Solicitor General were approved by parliament but they are not working since they’ve not been sworn in; please someone help me!

  2. This is a pathetic situation created by Pathetic Failures (PF). All of us must learn that to govern we need to be honest , fair and trustworthy. Nepotism, regionalism, tribalism and favoritism and all those negative isms do not build a country. Zambians let us re make Zambia that Sata and his relatives have destroyed . Re make the country re make Zambia .

  3. It’ s evidently known and true that the Zambian Parliament is one of the useless part of the government organs as it does not execute it’ s intended purposes. There are so many things which have been left hanging which are supposed to be tackled through parliametary debates but alas, these guys the so called parliamentarians are just there to fill up their bellies. In Zambia, we have got a useless parliament, a useless government and a useless system which shall not enable us as a nation to get somewhere. One would wonder what kind of debates these useless parliantarians have in parliament no wonder the situation we are in now where Zambia is government by a half alive and half dead head of state.

    • What has made things worse is that we also have no ‘SPEAKER’. Bambo Matibini is been a serious let down otherwise we have some intelligent MPs who can get things done. I suggest we recall our last Speaker to come and normalize is August House.

    • I wonder how YOU would perform as a parliamentarian with your poor English, Civics (government consists of legislature/executive/judiciary, I don’t know which ‘useless system’ you are referring to!!!) and your uncouth language. My friend, it has to start with YOU! Improve YOURSELF wholesomely because you might just find yourself in a position of authority and someone else might rightly call you useless in future!

This goes for most of the bloggers on this site!

    • @Vizungu
You need to introspect before you point a finger at others. I personally find the info given by two bloggers you are referring to credible. They have described the current system of government under PF accurately. Their message is very clear . No need for too much semantics.

PF system of government as whole stinks more than sewage matter, but at least
sewage matter is more useful than the PF .

Those who simplify their messages send the loudest messages. If you bragadaciolise your message, only a handful will understand it.

  4. YOU ARE FAILING TO PROVE YOUR SONDASHI FORMULA WORKS YET YOU WANT HEMCS TO PROVE HE IS IN GOOD HEALTH?????

  5. When the truth finally comes out, all those who have been telling lies should face the might of the law. They swore to protect the constitution of Zambia and now they are breaking it.

  6. Tell the truth ba PF coz this Sata clandestine operation is gonna come back to haunt you.Eventually y’all be found out and embarrassed.

  7. Stop barking about someone who is clinically gone you fulls. Just float in your presidential candidate who will be politically impotent even if he won because the numbers in the house favour the ruling party. It may just be a malawi case where joice banda from oppotion tested power for 2 yrs

    • Grow up sondashi. Who in this countriy is gripped by anxienty when most of us are busy making money. In you statement you state that the govt must come out clear because soon or later the the truth will come out. Is that not self contradiction. Chill down and stop mocking your friend. Better still visit him

  8. Keep on challenging the “acting” government over our Cobra.

We want our cobra! we want our cobra! we want our cobra! …

  9. I’m very disappointed with our country and lack of initiative by our politicians. Seriously, we are just going to shut up as the head of state has gone missing? what if he was killed? What if he is being held hostage? We have not received an official word about the President from nobody. We need to appeal to the United Nations to help us figure out if Israel is holding our President hostage because there are no witnesses of the President arriving in Zambia except confirmation from the Israeli Government that Mr Sata was in Israel. If this is the only way, someone will talk. Am asking all Zambians tomorrow to match to local United Nations office and petition the Israeli Government to explain to this nation what has happened to Mr Sata. Please Organize!

    • He is/was definitely not killed……The first lady is around having meetings so killing is out of the question…
Let’s not put blame on the Isreali when our own government has been lying between their teeth. But of course if you want to march to whereever I hope you are in Zambia, otherwise, if you are behind the keyboard just continue posting comments or better still call a Zambian radido or TV station and get your views aired.

    • @Francis: Yes organise the OP, ARMY, AIRFORCE to tell the Nation the truth. Why are they hiding, did the president land at ZAF MUMBWA on saturday???using presidential jet.

  10. Good morning fellow Zambians. So we are in despair? This is not a surprise but purely our own making as we were clearly aware of Sata,s poor healthy long before the 2011 elections.Of all the things Zambians have this election of Sata was the most difficult to comprehend. What did we expect?Even when we advised against it they went ahead with shhhhhhh dont kubeba.I want to here that.Sata is nowhere to be seen.Shhhhhhh dont kubeba!Next time elections come, please use your heads not hearts!GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  11. Today marks three weeks since Sata disappeared and we are still begging the PF govt officials to please do us a favour and tell us the truth. We know PF and truth do not mix yet we keep on hammering expecting the impossible to happen. All of us must be on some hallucinogens. I would have thought that since appealing to PF reason doesn’t work, remember chumbu, the logical step would be to try something drastic to force the truth out of them, some truth serum. How about organising countrywide mass protests? At least this would be more exciting and would definitely produce the desired results instantly. We would smoke Sata out from wherever is holing up.

  12. Why playing games on someone who is an asset of the country as at now? Sata has never been heard for a long time and is he in the country or outside. When a vocal person stops talking then all people in that community becomes worried as to why is he he quiet.

I believe this government must and should be a lesson to all Zambians. It behaves as though they own the people and yet they are just servants of the Zambians.

If he is stuck in the State house can you proclaim to the Nation that we have a problem so that we start preparations for good and for better. May the PF pronounce anything to us and we are ready to receive the story because we are peaceful people.

  13. People of this Nation, Where is the spokes person for the president who has been so vocal on every thing concerning Sata? Why is the presidential voice equity George Chella? Has he been sacked from statehouse? There must be something fishy.

  14. We r indeed at the CROSSROAD. Ths is were u differentiate between Intelligentias & daft, courage & Idiocy and Heroes & Cowards.

Honestly we dont ve ONE IN PF who can FEARLESSLY controll this impass. For sure Sata’s MPs r useless NO POLITICAL & RELIGIOUS stamina.

THIS IS THE WORST DILEMA IN HISTORY OF ANY NATION. A Deliverer is needed….!!

I wish Dean Mung’omba, Paul Tembo or Mazoka where there.

  15. I still cannot help laughing watching Sata’s confused and erratic behavior in Court, in Livingstone and at the Labour Day function. True, there is a living God who is a punisher of all evil *****s. Whether they like it or not, Sata shall never be the same again and the process is on to remove the tribalistic stinker from office. Maybe Bisas can anoint him as ChitiNyokola of the Bisas. I mean as soon as the Satan is unceremoniously dislodged from Plot 1, we are installing Manga Kanyanta as our ChitiMukulu.

  16. there we go again i thot it was only HH who thinks in reverse gear so even this Aids juju rag has a slow punctured brain. Sondashi sell your juju with decency. As for this ka FDD chap, when your wule president grabed another woman s hubby no one made useless noise, so young chap stop ranting sicknes is not something you poke funny at. even HH had to whisky his ailing wife to india in secrecy.

  17. ***** VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE THAT NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION & RESPONSE******

  18. This is what happens if you play with some of these traditional leaders, bashilubemba and Chitimukulu Sosala balilowa President Sata thus if he is sick for sure. Never should you argue with these chiefs, most of them have juju that protect them. I wish Sata all the best because GOD is for all, even for our enemies.

  19. The man is sick and cannot even work, so they PF are scared to come clean please they know the cobra is finished and cannot spit or strike anymore. All this is simply buying time while they are looting and confusing you with their contradictory statements!

    • @The observer,
You have brought out a very important point, looting by government officials is definitely going on. In any confusion looting always follows. Zambians are losing out on many fronts.

  20. Dear country men and women we all need to PRAY and GOD will answer. Remember, ask and it shall be given unto you.

  21. ….asking the govt again..??….the VP Scott is on record as having said..he would not know the health status of his boss because, I quote…..’ I’m not a medical doctor, I’m not married to him and I do not live with him…’..end of quote…..literally suggesting that ..’you ask the wife..’… The problem is that Dr Kaseba is under oath not to disclose anything within the confines of Nkwazi hse as per Zambian marriage traditional/customary ‘laws’ or norms….
Expecting to get a true status quo is like expecting to see a ‘pig fly’. Some of us the grip of sorrow has already started setting in…..the best we can do is to keep quite, sit and wait….

    • …cont’d
….I would have added on to say….sit and wait for the best or worse , but better the best…meaning if the Presido is ‘under the weather’, he must recover and quickly. My problem is the description of the phrases …best and worse… would mean differently depending on which camp the blogger belongs to…for some bloggers, BEST would mean ‘passing on’ God forbid. Please I beg you all.. we must all wish the BEST that he quickly recovers….Lets not pretend, any mature person knows the president is not fine……all what the Sondashi and team are expecting is to be told what is ‘eating up’ our presido…..

  22. The cake we had baked for ourselves is not all that sweet, after all. We voted for Sata to be our president, even though we knew fully well that he was sick!

  23. BOTH THE OPPOSITION AND THE GOVERNMENT ARE IN ERROR HERE.
    1. THE OPPOSITION JUST WANT SATA TO DIE. ANYTHING BAD THAT HAPPENS TO SATA WILL PLEASE THEM BECAUSE SOME OF THEM LIKE HH, THAT IS WHEN THEY MAY HOPE TO GET INTO STATE HOUSE.
    2. THE GOVERNMENT IS EQUALLY IN THE WRONG. PF HAS FAILED TO MANAGE SATA’S ILLNESS. THE PF HAS LAMENTABLY FAILED TO QUENCH THE VARIOUS SPECULATING VOICES THAT HAVE RISEN OVER THE HEALTH OF MCS. ANYONE CAN GET SICK. WHY NOT TELL US THAT “SATA IS SICK AND RECOVERING, LETS PRAY FOR HIM. GIVE HIM TIME FOR RECOVERY”. UNFORTUNATELY FOR HIM HE OCCUPIES A PUBLIC OFFICE. AND WITH THE CURRENT TECHNOLOGY YOU CANNOT KEEP HIDDING. PLEASE LEARN TO SAY THE TRUTH. YOU HAVE FAILED TO KEEP SATA’S ILLNESS A SECRETE. NOW THAT THE BEANS HAS BEEN SPILLED PLEASE SAY THE TRUTH…

  24. You can tell that something is very very wrong when even Goerge Chellah goes uncharacteristically quiet. State House machinery has run out of ideas. Interest in what is happening has now started going beyond the borders of our beloved country. It is time to come out clean because a country cannot be held to ransom by one person.
