Janza names home-based Zambia team for three-day camp

Share

Honour Janza has named his first 26-man home-based team for his first day on the job next week.

Janza will have his first meeting with his home-based players during a three-day training camp in Lusaka from August 11-13.

His team has a number of surprises including a recall for Zesco United defender Nyambe Mulenga.

However, it is unlikely that Mulenga nor two other Zesco call-ups will be part of the training camp.

Nyambe, Justin Zulu and Jackson Mwanza will all be away on club duty in Tanzania to face Simba in a 78th anniversary friendly match in Dar-es-Salaam this weekend.

Zesco are only expected back on Tuesday.

Janza meanwhile has also called up the Kabwe Warriors duo of Jacob Phiri and Josphat Kasusu.

National Assembly too has some representation in the three day training camp with Timothy Mbewe and Alick Tembo also called up.

Team:

Goalkeepers: Joshua Titima (Power Dynamos), Toaster Nsabata (Nchanga Rangers), Danny Munyau (Red Arrows), Edson Phiri (Green Buffaloes)

Defenders: Jimmy Chisenga (Red Arrows), Alick Tembo (National Assembly), Adrian Chama (Green Buffaloes), George Chilufya (Nchanga Rangers), Christopher Munthali (Nkana), Nyambe Mulenga (Zesco United), Rodrick Kabwe, Fackson Kapumbu (Both Zanaco)

Midfielders: Julius Situmbeko, Kennedy Mudenda, Richard Kasonde (All Power Dynamos), Justin Zulu (Zesco United), Timothy Mbewe (National Assembly) Jacob Phiri (Kabwe Warriors), Simon Bwalya (Nkana), Evans Musonda, Shadreck Malambo, Bruce Musakanya (All Red Arrows)

Strikers: Moses Phiri (Zanaco), Ronald Kampamba (Nkana), Josephat Kasusu (Kabwe Warriors), Jackson Mwanza (Zesco United)

    • janza is tonga and janza means hand which is a slogan for UPND,,,,, be careful UPND is taking over everything,,, forward 2016

    • @Ndobo, Kekekekeke but I don’t see any Tonga name in team, then UPND is a national not regional party.
I am happy that The Hand has called Jackson Mwanza, and Simon Bwalya.
I am just suspicious about too many players from Kabwe Warriors (Chintu??), and none from Choma Eagles.

    • @Wajimona, I also wondered as much. Seeing that this is a weekly camp and our Nkana and Zesco players are involved in international engagements, why dont we call up the myriad of Congolese players that have flooded our local league? That should solve our problems and to hell with the military teams like Arrows who, for reasons best known to themselves, can not recruit foreign players in their ranks! Besides, what have Jimmy Chisenga, Danny Munyau, Shadreck Malambo, Stanley Nshimbi, Bruce Musakanya ever contributed to the National team? What did they ever contribute to Zambia’ showing in the last Cosafa championship? Absolutely nothing!! Kaili ba Arrows baenda mu one since this weekend ni ma last games ya 2014 season!!

    • Nyambe Mulenga is now playing for ZESCO (check the records)!
I wonder why JANZA has considered this player who is out of form.

  1. Nsabata is a young gifted goal keeper with a bright future ahead of him. Do not judge him on one poor performance against Japan. The boy was bold enough to admit the effect of stage fright…. He’ll stabilise with time.

  2. Nyambe Mulenga , this is the future of Zambia when the Muchinga thugs realise we are one people and everyone has a stake in the country , then we will have a great country.
    Viva inter tribal unity.

  3. Pick players on merit not the zedian way of ncekelako uteye. at the same time zed coaches lacks tactics, am sorry! we need an expartriate coach period!
