Matero MP Miles Sampa has decided to extend his Metro Cab youth empowerment initiative to the rest of the country.

Speaking at a signing ceremony in Lusaka with Big Brother Suppliers Limited to supply 10 taxis by September 01 2014, Mr Sampa said the positive response his initiative has received has motivated him to extend it to the rest of Zambia.

He said the Metro Cab initiative is not a business venture as some critics have been saying.

Mr Sampa said he genuinely wants to uplift the living standards of the Zambian youth.

He also dispelled assertions that his development initiatives are aimed at positioning himself for the republican presidency at some point in his political career.

Mr Sampa said he will use part of his gratuity from Parliament to fund the roll out of the Metro Cabs initiative.

He also revealed that he will approach more banks and other financial institutions to roll out the initiative.

And Big Brother Suppliers Limited Chief Executive Officer Max Chongo said his firm was thrilled to be associated with the Metro Cabs initiative.

  1. No matter what you do in life, whether you do nothing, you are a failure, you succeed
in a particular field in life, you will always have critics. These are usually people who have all the time in the world to look at what others are doing, and to critically analyse the whys and why nots

Keep it up Miles!! You will go miles!!

    • Well, so what if it does?????

And what are you doing yourself to help unemployed youths in Zambia and get noticed in the process? Nothing apart from sitting comfortably abroad and writing cr@p!

    • Unless you are tell us that every youth living in Zambia and Matero in particular is a PF “uneducated” cadre then you would have a point. Otherwise you need to $h%t up because you are NOT MAKING ANY SENSE with all that “mis-education” you got!

By the way, the selection of who gets a cab is done by lottery/raffle, so the process is very transparent, unbiased and does not discriminate as your lying self wants to believe!

  2. Keep it up bwana MP with Metro cab thing as long as its in good faith.Well there will always haters especially the political enemies.I suggest that HH also start METRO COWS empowering all the youths with cattle ranches may starting in Namwala then extend to the rest of Zambia…

  3. Wow! More money in the Meanstar’s pockets. Money spinner. Limit you business to the Hills and dirt area of Lusaka

    • How is Minister Sampa making any money out of this when “all the weekly cashing” will be spent to buy more cabs to benefit even more youths? Please explain it to us?

You people need to learn to listen when someone speaks. Some of these things are NOT so hard to understand—it is not rocket science! The minister has explained this venture over and over, yet “dodo heads” like you still can’t get it? Or you just being daft by choice.

I know it is hard to believe a mere mortal like Minister Sampa can actually do this. But I suggest you take a deep breath and relax. There are Zambians out there with only pure altruistic intentions to help lift young people’s lives out of poverty.

      WOW, indeed!!!

  4. the taxi business is too saturated Mr minister. additionlly bcos of its easy way to set it has become less profitable. when you visit any town taxis are dotted in every corner. Miles shud have tried to empower the youth who are engaged in a more politically sensible area like agriculture. besides the cashing will be too high for an empowerment programme. many people already know the devil is in the detail.

    • Defeatist mentality. You are beaten even before you enter the ring; that sounds like a champion, right?

If you are knowledgeable about Agric, why don’t you start something for youths in that area yourself? Minister Sampa chose Taxis because his Constituency is in the City not Shakumbila. You want him to start getting “farming blocks” in the middle of Matero for youths to grow Soybeans on?

  5. He want to be President when my Sata is gone!!!! Do not deny this iwe ka Sampa, siskiriti twalishiba akale!!! But you are not a public speaker, you are not charming, you are not a politician!!!

Mwaisangilepofye after chaopena kumatelo!!!! Day light rober iwe!

    • Ba Mistaken Identity, jealous yashani iyo. You have seen that Sampa is ahead of you who just think that selling mines dubiously, farming and sleeping with cows is business. Atase, leave Sampa alone.

  6. whether it’s a business, a campaign strategy or philanthropy , it’s a good idea keep it up . No venture is without risks. Not all Kaponyas will be hired and u will displace some people in that market. So you will create friends and enemies . Good luck

  7. @MIstaken Identity!
I’m not PF nor Sampa fan, but does it mean only eloquent, good public speakers with charisma should vie for Presidency? Personally I would go for a boring, honest politician able to deliver than a corrupt, charming, sweet-talker politician. Mind you history tells us to be wary of eloquent politicians, no need to cite examples here, lol.

  8. There is too much ignorance and blind support in Zambia. We keep on making the same mistakes and hoping for different results. If Miles were serious, he would have done things differently rather than distributing cabs in unplanned manner and without thinking. It’s like distributing farming inputs to youths around the country, including CB & Lusaka, hoping that they know agricultural production and management. From the start, the project is not sustainable. It would also be advisable to put the revolving fund under a trust, and not in total control of Miles Sampa. K600 cashing daily is also unrealistic in some rural settings. Involve the youths, especially in rural setup about the empowerment programme; peharps it is not cabs they need for empowerment.
Is it cab driver youths or all…

  9. Hats off to this young educated handsome man. This is the progress we want not ranting like dogs with rabies imwe fi up and down.

  10. Ati ba CEO Big Brother Suppliers Ltd… people when you study this whole issue its marred with corruption. Firstly Miles Sampa cannot give out anything for free pantu wakaso. He fails to pay his workers on time… want to prove just interview his workers especially drivers and builders??? Theys no way he can give anything for free he is just playing to the gallery… Secondly Max Chongo is a very broke chap absoloutely broke. He is wanted for theft of a motor vehicle by one bank employee so where is this cheap crook going to get the money from to suppy 10 vehicles??? Remember he joined Munali PF recently and harassed a Mandahill Businessman? Where is he getting the funding from when a small car he was requested to supply has not reached the owner for close to three years now… CAR THIEF
