Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba has announced that he is donating his entire gratuity to his constituency to spearhead development.
Mr Mwamba joins Matero MP who two weeks ago announced that he will donate his midterm gratuity to a youth empowerment initiative in his constituency.
MPs are due to receive about 250,000 each in midterm gratuity around September this year while the remaining 250,000 will be issued at the end of the five year terms in 2016.
Mr Bwalya announced in a posting on his Facebook page that he is donating the money to Kasama Central because that is where the money rightfully belongs.
“I have donated my entire gratuity to Kasama Central Constituency because that is where it rightfully belongs as people who voted for me. The gratuity will be shared equally among the 8 (eight) wards in Kasama Central. I am into politics to serve the people and I remain committed to this ideal,” Mr Bwalya wrote.
He added, “As soon as I return to Lusaka, I shall write to inform the Speaker of the National Assembly to channel my gratuity to the people of Kasama Central who have made me to be what I am today. Lastly, during my program on Radio Mano, I called for unity in the nation. This we must do without fail.”
Michael Chilufya Sata would never ever be generous like that .Not even if he had GBM’s type of independent wealth.
How will he pay his mortgage ?
Do you think HH would ever do this ?
Make up your minds people and realise HH is not
The man we need anywhere near statehouse
Thanks
GBM,,, stands out in PF, this a man for his people in kasama,,,,,,,,,i wonder what kabimba will do with his entire gratuity
@mushota
Thanks mate for vigorously campaigning for HH indirectly.
No matter what the PF members do to out manoeuvre each other for PF presidency they can not be compared to HH. HH ‘s popularity has gone viral across Zambia.
HH is the president Zambians have been waiting for all this time. A young man who is focussed , humble , innovative, and hard working. He has a vision to propel Zambia into sustainable prosperity.
More over HH is now the unifying factor, across all the tribes in Zambia. He will restore one Zambia one nation and promote tribal balancing in high profile government jobs.
HH and UPND the only hope and help Zambia looks looks forward to at the moment.
Viva UPND and HH. PF wawa.
Thumbs up GBM. You are the only PF MP who has regained his sobriety from donch kubeba intoxication.
Come 2016 October, GBM will shake off the PF ugly tag and cross over to a more organised party.
@Ndobo, Kabimba is the lucky man, he has no constituency to donate to, maybe to Sudan.
@1.5 it doesn’t necessarily have to be a constituency that he donates to. He can donate to one of the schools that he attended, the community that he lives in, the village that he comes from and so on. The point is to show that you can sacrifice for your country.
@ Wanzelu, so you are also campaigning for the people you have mentioned tefyo?
People need to go back to school and find out what the true role of an MP is instead of this blind praising of these characters.
If you don’t need the gratuity don’t accept it…you will still be saving the taxpayer.
Wake up people! !
Hey there, hold that. There is nothing sinister, after all GBM and Sampa will claim the money back guaranteed through TAX credits, or rather, tax returns.
Most notably, people don’t understand how the system works, its poli-ticks time, PF is Donchi Kubeba, believe at your own peril of PF so called “donations of disguise”.
Had the jerk douchebag fat albert not resigned he would have not donated the money. The garbage is just trying to win sympathy from Kasama Disco voters.
jay jay
Today you have spoken sense ,just because umwaiche Sampa donated .This drum can’t come up with his own.Shameless illiterate. That mealing plant you own was in kasama, you uprooted it from your own people and today you say you are donating.Wasn’t it better to leave the meal there so to create employment?smh
Blind followers above ought to be ashamed of your selves. Is this buffoon going to be donating forever?.
Iwe Mushota, you have ill feelings towards HH… May I remind you that HH made it clear that if elected as president of Zambia, he will be donating his entire salary. In saying this he made it clear that he is self sufficiant unlack the man in state house now 🙁
This can be a very good competition among MPs. Who’s is next? Let us see who is who… Next to donate is Kabimba….
@Nostradamas: Yes–Kabimba is the next to donate to SUDAN and KENYA. These were the people he smuggled into the country to help them rig the elections in 2011
I want to hear that Wynter Kabimba has also donated his gratuity to Mwembeshi even if that is his not constituency, but his home village.
And the next MP is talking about revising the gratuity upwards.
Drama
Thumbs up GBM. Its good to Love home.
Viva Kasama !! I believe my auntie will enjoy tht moneys in Kasama!!!
anyone from UPND to the same donations
That is the spirit NOT these thieves.
If Catherine Namugula donates her gratuity to her Constituence MMD can bounce back come 2016.In PF if Munkonbwe can do so PF why not???
Will the money be shared among the people or is it for developmental projects? Lol,MPs are already campaigning. Be careful Namugala come on
LT. Is that amount in dollars, kwacha or yen?
The PF candidate for Mangango constituency has also made intent to donate his gratuity to his constituency if he wins the by-election.
@Moderator, the amount is in Zimbabwean dollars. See the fine print.
While some Lusaka boys are starting a cab business in the fake pretence of empowering the youth. Nonsense
‘WENA LIHUULE’, SOMEONE TOLD A CAMPAIGN MANGER SOMEWHERE
Campaign season is in full swing!
He is right that the money belongs to the people in his constituency. After all it is taxpayers’ money
@ Mushota u crack my rib!
ati not near state house wen the the man has been having slepless night over plot one.
anyway thumbs up to GBM this is how u av lived your life its not the first time u ar doing this,i mean this is the man who has spent milions of kwacha his personal money on various developmental projects in Kasama.
If they want salary increases so that they can donate the money back to their respective constituencies maybe we should give it to them!!
MPs You are asking for more money at the same time you are giving your money away, what is it hat you want?
Only the poverty-stricken MPs like Kabimba who would be starving by now, want increased perks.
Let’s go GBM!!!! Let go!!!!! Ohohohohoh!!!!!
That’s the heart for the people.
Presidential material…
@namona
actually u ar right my bro
Politics is about competition to serve people selflessly.its just that we av twisted things upside down, thinking we can make money out of it.
Kasama Central constituency and seemingly the entire district are firmly GBM’s.
Sata must be agonising even more to hear such news especially when it is from GBM.
This is good competition, oh i’m loving this already 🙂
This is simply good.
Well done GBM, at least you have kept the promise that you made way back after you had threatened to resign from PF after battering your wife.
But why compare this donation to that Business venture one Miles Sampa has embarked on? We all know Miles intends to grow his gratuity by taking advantage of the failure by GRZ to create employment for the youths.
Last time I checked, many people operating pirate taxis in Lusaka are doing the same. Have they also then “donated” their vehicles?
Miles Sampa’s is a business idea and let it be referred to as such. He is taking advantage of the lack of employment to expand/grow HIS gratuity. To me that stands miles away from a selfless donation!
May I join the Kasama Central electorates to say THANK YOU to GBM. I only hope this DONATION goes a long way in helping to change the face of the constituency, and will not end up lining the pockets of some cadres….
I am now waiting for Guy Scot to donate his gratuity to Glasgow.
Why this whole fiasco of donating gratuity may be ok but entirely wrong.
1. It is apparently masked in “good will” but not necessarily a measure of a noble and hard working MPs.
2. It will create unnecessary pressure for those MPs who cannot give because they have other genuine uses the their gratuity
3. It has not to do with serving to the electorate but a plot to hoodwink voters for re-election
4. You and I, who may be aspiring to become MPs in the near future may never give a chance particularly if we have no money to show that we could give. In the end, the MPship may just end up for those with financial muscle even though they may be unproductive in their legislative duty.
5. It is unnecessary for our fragile democracy. MPs are their to lobby government to provide for…
Spot on…That’s the yardstick docile Zambians use to rate their MPs…its sheer laziness by Zambians going by the praises on this blog, if these selfsame guys with access to technology here don’t know the role of an MP what of Joe Public in Kasama and Kanyama compound.
This competition is so good, oh i’m already loving this 🙂
You see nothing wrong with an MP donating taxpayers money to taxpayers….no wonder KCM is raping you everyday as all you want is mere casual work!!
GBM is a man who has spirit for the less privileged in society. He has passion for the needy. But he doesn’t like people who play around with his business. The more he has the more he gives out. He is my childhood friend so I know him better. GBM continue helping our people in Kasama. My only cry is the state of roads in Kasama’s Mukulumpe township that need attention.
Thumbs up to GBM!
The Miles Sampa mania has started eating other MPS. Now it is GBM donating so generously. Who will be next on the line? Don’t be afraid to join the queue. This is true servant-ship.
Bravo Miles and GBM
Why are politics always just created in Zambia? SATA holes himself up in State house or whatever suddenly the political temperature rises, you give MPs gratuity there is suddenly so much political mileage to be covered, Kazimu is evacuated to RSA and all political wheels turn to the south. Am sick to death about all this. How Kazimu and the other Mwanawasa chap any way.
No one has even used the Kazimu incident to educate society on the dangers of drinking and driving and the police have not even gone to interview Kazimu or their driver to establish what happened. How many lives will be lost before people are brought to book? Or sorry I forgot that Kazimu is a son of the Head of State who rules over all of us. I ll shut it.
Is this man really of congolese breed? I beg to be educated….. If he is, why is he so different from the greed, deceit and thievery of the North?
@ Siamanengo wembushi we! You are just jealousy of the bembas because they are so hardworking, they are not cry babies, they are adventurous, they are liked by women from all over the country, they are intelligent, they are educated etc. Most of the wanted thieves posted in the newspapers for various offences are mostly non bembas. People who hide money at farms are not bembas. Most of these tribes are white collar thieves. They steal thru manipulation.
@BBC
Me, jealous of a hard working thief? God forbid, oh! You are a treble congolese educated intelligent lying deceitful donkey kubeba kabwalala…..
How can you be proud of a tribal grouping that lies and lies, steals and steals. No shame, you congolese from ituli forest.
And most of the thieves are bembas. I will prove it: can bembas in their land leave chickens and find them the following day. No wonder all you do wembushi is to insult…..no skopo…
@BBC
Jealous of a thieving kongolay? No ways for eternity!
I rather the people of the South continue their honest ways than be associated with the dishonest donchi kubeba ways of the congolese overflow. Anyday, I would be overjoyed that we the bantubotatwe were a part of the Batswana (Botswana), Kolekole, Kalanga, matebele (Zimbabwe), Subiya (Namibia) rather than the people of the north who we have ABSOLUTELY zero in common. Their way of deceitful lives is completely alien to the South. They cant even leave chickens outside but have to sleep with them in the huts as theft is an accepted way of their life!
if this donation is going to have a long term impact on the people positively then its okay but if its given to cadres to outbeat their opponents then its not okay.
Come to think of it HH should also donate just 1 percent of what he erronously benefited from privatization not to Zambia but Monze hospital and turn it into a major Zambia hospital. Or pay the unpaid retirees that he paid a part in bringing up.
Interesting here is a man that wouldn’t even pay for his own nephews and nieces school fees but he wants to donate his gratuity to his constituents?? People are not so gullible I hope to believe his intentions are genuine. Even HH would be better as President than GBM, they are both evil but HH is a lesser evil.
At no 14 , what are you saying
@tipical of person caling himself a doctor. respect yo opinion even though no sense in yo coments.
This is a nice trend I see developing, politicians actually being generous and donating to their communities money they extort from tax payers.
Aaaaawwwaaa, don’ t you just love election years. Candidates fervently kissing little babies, always on camera! Patting dogs on the head as they ‘work’ an election patch! Empowering women. Donating all their income to the poor. Better than Xmas!!!
Actually, we are missing something here! There is no need to give MPs and Civil Servants a pay raise..they’ll just give it away to guarantee a vote! This is a ‘good’ sort of fraud! You give money in the hope of getting votes.
wapya Minzi guys. Now MPs are competing over generosity. Sampa and GBM muli baume. Show these greedy selfish MPs that leadership means service to the people.
We now wait for UPND MPs to do the same. we are waiting dear MPs.
They have stolen enough. Stealing was born there and perfected in Lusaka.
The truth of the matter is that HH is a cheap political mischief who cannot drive this Country to prosperity. Let me quote Geroge Mpombo’s statement ( HH is a cheap braggadocio who suffers from a debilitating form of Political megalomaniac. He is just an albatross hanging around UPND. Lets wait for 2016, he will cry like itole lyabawishi
GBM, why did you have to imitate Miles Sampa, be original and do your own thing. This is an opportunity for some people to boast, we know them.
@ Wanzelu
‘… has gone viral’, where? The majority of Zambian voters don’t know ‘viral’, bwana. Their decision is to vote back into power the mighty PF. So there!
to the rest mp,s please dont do it blindly, by following what others ar doing be steady before u do it, gkc
Iwe Mushota, you have ill feelings towards HH… May I remind you that HH made it clear that if elected as president of Zambia, he will be donating his entire salary. In saying this he made it clear that he is self sufficiant unlack the man in state house now 🙁
Even if it is being done as a campaign gimmick, these people are politicians and they need to use such tricks so as to woe votes, in so doing it’s the constituencies that are benefiting. As for GBM, all who follow him know very well that he hasn’t started today, infact even Sata himself was a beneficially, not was he given money only but expensive cars were bought for him. Ask churches, how many have benefited, we are talking about serious monies here. Am also thinking of inviting him for my birthday….
It should have started with our beloved president by refusing have to his salary increased unfortunately it did not happen. Thanks to those who thought of politics as a service to the people.
Bembas are naturally generous but.
