United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema says he is the most harassed political leader in the country since 1991.
Addressing his supporters at the Lusaka Magistrate Court complex this morning soon after the case in which he is charged with publication of false news with intent to alarm the nation was adjourned; Mr. Hichilema said he sometimes wonders why he is harassed by the government.
Mr Hichilema assured his supporters that he will never take their support for granted considering that they are always on his side.
The UPND leader has since encouraged his supporters to be strong and always seek strengthen from God to move forward.
Meanwhile the case in which Mr Hichilema is charged with publication of false news with intent to alarm the nation has been adjourned to 2nd and 12th December, 2014 for commencement of trial.
When the matter came up for trial before Magistrate Aridah Chuulu this morning, the state applied for an adjournment stating that witnesses were not ready to proceed with the matter.
This is the fourth time the matter has been adjourned.
Former Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba was to appear as the State’s first witness in the matter.
Mr Hichilema’s case originates from a statement he made that the Patriotic Front had sent its cadres to Sudan to be trained as militias.

He was at the centre of what appeared to be a tribal vote but he personally did not campaign on tribal lines. You may wish to know that the guys who spoke tribal things have even left UPND and joined PF.
You may have personal issues with HH but please, remember that HH has friends, relatives and sympathizers who are also potential supporters of your PF if they start seeing good. It is good that a friendly and human person, Mr Lungu, is now SG and may not appreciate PF cadres who use the language you used to apply on HH. If it is a tribal vote we could almost argue that it defines him from perception and politics is heavy on perception. If the smear sticks it is difficult to shake off. @ Mistaken Identy, my humble appeal to you is to do a spreadsheet of top civil service jobs, diplomatic jobs and parastatal heads and indicate regions where bearers are from. Post your findings here and you will see that Sata and his PF are the most tribal govt since independence

Listing office-bearers solely on the basis of the language they speak or the perceived origin of their names is fine but we should also add what they are qualified for, how long they have been doing what they do, and whether or not they share exactly the same clan/chief/etc. That way we will wipe out all doubt from those that see things only from a narrow perspective. I am sure one of these days we shall rest this case even if it is a la Scotland style.

Sata did not need a police permit to go out and campaign. He even called government leaders all sorts of names and yet was not prosecuted for it. Sata issued false alarmist statement during his opposition years and still faced no charges.
Sata was harrassed for money laundering activities to which GBM save his ass in South Africa. He got a government vehicle without permission. He was just that RB forgave him several times because those allegations he face were serious.
Upto now, South Africa still needs clarification about the $100,000 he failed to declare at the airport.

I totally agree with HH based on one fact. He is always found on the wrong side of the law… that is why. My advice to HH is, he needs to go back to school and concentrate on studying Political Science as a major.

PF is trying to correct the wrongs and in time even top govt officials must begin to accept that a luxury govt vehicle which costs USD150,000 is better substituted for a 10 room basic school which costs the same amount to build. PF is pragmatic and embraces different opinions unlike MMD and UPND hence the reason I’m confident that even these top govt officials will be brought down to size so that the unnecessary huge sums of money being spent on vehicles, allowances etc will become a thing of the past so that all resources will be channeled to improving the lives of poor Zambians.

The Rupia and Sata took over when Mwanawasa had laid a strong foundation to build on the Economy of Zambia.He left more than 2bilion $ in the National reserves and the GDP was very strong.a lot of projects were still in the process of being finalized.Schools,Roads,Bridges ,Hospitals and football stadiums.Rupia sustained these projects but was too slow to implement some projects like the construction of Mulungushi university.Mr Sata has quickly embarked on Constructing infrustracture in Un coordinated manner through out the country without proper plans,he has subjected the country to heavy borrowing (Euro bonds)or Kaloba at very high interest rate.The question is why is he in a hurry?Because he is very sick and knows in order to steal as much money he needs to start many projects at once.
he does’t care how the loans will be repaid back after all he will be long gone.So its a person agenda not a national agenda.Thats why iam so anoid with him,as high ranking official in the MOF.I know how money is being syphoned to Turkey and Oriental countries far east.All this information will be revealed after his gone and we shall grab this money on behave of Zambians.

A party is like a club where it is normal practice to appoint members of the club to executive positions. How the UPND expect the PF to appoint UPND members in a PF government into cabinet positions baffles me? Despite this the PF has tried to appoint UPND MPS into cabinet which has displeased the UPND and has expelled some of the MPs on account of this. Come 2016 the UPND should work hard to win the elections and I will expect the UPND to draw its cabinet from its MPs and I would be the last person to accuse it of tribalism. From time immemorial party cadres have been appointed to government positions as a reward for their work in the party. KK appointed an illiterate party cadre to the position of governor. For example Brian has been appointed to a party position although he is Tonga.
HH likeable as he is has blotted his copy by these type of campaigns. He and cadres have used alarmist methods to bring the country to brink of violence.
He ought not to use ZWD in the way he does. That callous play on Sata illness is unforgivable.
