Striker Jacob Mulenga says the team is focused on stealing three points off hosts Niger in their must-win 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifier on Saturday in Niamey as a gift for the fans back at home.
Zambia face Niger in the two sides first ever meeting hunting for a win to get their 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifier back on track.
“We know how we have to focus and basically come back with three points,” the striker from Turkish club Adana Demirspor at KK International Airport prior to departure for Niger on Thursday afternoon.
“Playing away does not really matter it is playing 11 against 11 it is all football. We are looking forward to it God willing everything will be fine.”
Third placed Zambia will be playing their second successive away Group F game after losing 2-1 to Group F leaders Cape Verde on September 10 in Praia.
Zambia are tied with hosts Niger on one points from two games, five points behind leaders Cape Verde who visit second placed Mozambique on two points on the same date.
Jacob Mulenga, one of the most overrated players on the continent of Africa. Not even sure why he is a professional. When was the last time this man scored despite being a central striker? I miss the days when the Derby Mankinkas would score from the center circle. Now all we have makula. Best thing is just not to pay attention when these boys are playing because you can end up with a heart attack. My advice to fellow soccer fans is have low expectations about this game so that you get surprised if at all they win. I knew things were not right the day we drew with Ethiopia in RSA. Since then we have headed downhill ma draws and losses yeka yeka. A team with no midfield general cannot function and truly has no future in African soccer. Its not the coach but there are no players.
Jacob likula lyamuntu chachine. elo Mayuka napwa. elo Christopher nakula. elo Mweene nayina. where’s Evans? where’s Lusambo? Sate Sate and co should take the reigns mwe. eh future.
Awe Ba Jacob kwati bola yena tapali mwe. The guy is equally finished just like the other veterans.
