Kambwili tells blunt Chipoloplo to be serious

Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili has told Chipolopolo to be serious after Saturday’s disappointing goalless draw with Niger in the away 2015 Africa Cup qualifier in Niamey.

Zambia remain stuck in third place in Group F with two points from three matches and are four points behind leaders Cape Verde.

Kambwili said he was shocked to see Zambia fail to beat Niger.

“I am extremely disappointed with the result. I never expected that we were going to draw with Niger,” Kambwili said.

“I appeal to the technical bench and the players to please die a little for Mother Zambia and be serious with what they are doing,” he said.

Zambia started the Morocco 2015 AFCON qualifiers with a scoreless draw against Mozambique before succumbing to a 2-1 loss in Cape Verde.

“We need to pull up our socks as time is not on our side. We have drawn two games and lost one. This is not a healthy situation for Zambia.

On Wednesday, Honour Janza’s side faces Niger in Ndola in the two teams fourth Group F match.

    • I think Kabwili knows how to watch football. I didn’t see any player who was serious, maybe except Mweene and Jacob on that last dangerous free-kick.
I only saw Janza for just to welcome players going out after substitution. The Technical fimofimo, the whiteman from Holland you could see on his face that he really want to kick that ball at goal, but not yet comfortable to go and stand on line.

  1. Mr. minister, those are the words of everyone. You shouldn’t even have been at the airport. These guys are not serious. Please let Jericho Shinde, Kalusha, Modon, Kenneth Malitoli, Elijah Litana, Simukonda, Tembo. I am sure they can do better.

  2. I truly believe that Zambia could have been beaten by Cameroun women’s team which also beat RSA women team. That’s how poor the quality of chikolopelo is.

  3. Ba Zambia indeed have to be serious… We can’t be drawing with minnows like Niger. This is so embarrassing. Maybe Kalusha has been interfering with team selection.. Why isn’t Sate Sate starting the games when we know that the boy can do wonders for the country?

    • That is the attitude that is making you lose! Poland beat Germany the world champs; that should tell you something. If you think a name that reminded you of failure is still what it was when you learned about it you will be sadly mistaken. Those minnows will come and whack your sorry a.s.ses in your backyard!

  4. Egypt,Cameroon and Nigeria did not qualify for 2012 Africa Cup. And their ministers just put up an effective action plan which even saw Nigeria win it when they reappeared. You never heard rhetoric from their ministers saying be serious. Action plan please

  5. No doubt, performance below par.but I thought kambwili is equally not serious just like FAZ.how can we allow janza with no traceable coaching experience to try his luck on the national team.let’s be serious as policy makers.which one of these can janza surpass lwandamina, beston, simukonda etc but there u are janza.

  6. i saw it coming. What honourable minister meant is to FIRE HJ period because ka-coach can’t read game and he has no plans. Hence he’s not and will never be serious.

  7. The problem is not with the players. Their failure is a reflection of a collective failure as a nation. What is our national policy and programme to develop and promote sports, and football in particular? Zero! These players which we have just used their initiative during their tender age to develop their talent. In the old days players were identified and recruited from secondary schools. Schools in the old days had sports progrmmes. They even had well trained sports masters. I wonder whether this is the case now! The schools we are building now have no provisions for sports grounds; at the old schools like Kanseshi the sports grounds are overgrown with grass. These grounds are even at risk to be taken over by cadres and Mr Kabwili himself for some housing projects.

  8. And there lies the problem, this BUFFOON can cry all he want as its in his folly that he continues signing out blank cheques to the crooks in Faz without them giving us a long term strategic plan and a time frame to when they will be truly independent and stop relying on taxpayers.

  9. That’s Kalu’s team selection!Janza has got little say.Foolish Kalu knows it all!Janza promised to get rid of that tired team, but was stopped by Kalu!look at how Kalu hand picked this white assistant coach!Kambwili must cage Kalu if Chipolopolo is to tick again!Kalu is a worst dictator at FAZ!we’re close to people at FAZ and know a lot about Kalu’s dealings!

  10. Serious overhaul of the technical bench is required,we have talent for Chipolopolo but there must be skilled coaches who are able to identify and use the players effectively. Administration of football leaves a lot to be desired, may not put huge blame on players..

  11. Kambwili is to blame for Chipolopolo’s poor form. He is too fat and too dumb to be a supporter of the 2012 Champions

  12. What else do you expect from a useless team headed by a completely obese and equally useless minister! This is PF for you, ni lwakwa Noah lekeni lunye nomba mwaya saana ba Kaboke imwe.

  13. As Zedian we generally needto be serious; starting from Kambwili himself. Chipolopolo performance on the pitch is reflection of we are as zambians generaly. LAZY and Happy with small achievements. Chipolopolo was happy to fly to niger and happy to get a draw.

  14. Our players were running around like headless chickens, no technic or tactic. One wonders the system being used by this Honourable MP Janza that lacks zeal and aggression, even the positioning of the players, how do play a finished player for over 80 minutes. the coach should have seen failure earlier enough in the strikers. The old academician brought by kalu seems to have come on holiday and probably a research on how players finish. Wednesday is too soon for any improvement, the coach has lost it all now……… The coach should just resign if he has any integrity in him otherwise we are doomed,,
