Mr President, you lived your entire life serving.

In all portfolios you held selfless service was your way of life. Your fearless passion for the country and love for its people was the daily anthem on your lips. You courageously rejected any form of prejudice on the poor majority and marginalised in our society.

From afar, you appeared aggressive but up close you radiated untold warmth and meekness. No wonder you took immense pride in identifying yourself with the people at every circumstance of your life.

Humility was your greatest strength and forgiveness your greatest weakness. You were dearly loved because your strength and weakness synergised thereby spreading unusual affection and compassion, amongst multitudes.

You inspired many people to forgive, care, reconcile and be tolerant regardless of the situation.

I can attest to this because it’s these very noble principles that changed and shaped my character over the past 10 years I have closely worked with you. I count myself blessed and honored to have had the opportunity to serve you, right from the age of 24 to this day.

If truly success is measured by influencing one’s environment by investment of your personality and selflessness, then Mr President you are no doubt a success! The kind of success that deserves praise and imitation.

Mr President, now as I grieve your departure, I am gradually accepting what has happened with a lump on my throat knowing fully well that I will never see you again. Your life in the camera is all I am left with.

Sad as it may, I am comforted by the fact that you have left a legacy. A legacy of honesty, personal sacrifice and hardwork. Right from the campaigns, your words still echo in my ears and I quote: “…ndefwaya nga nafwa mukalelanda ati twalikwete abaume pantu ndeisa mukuchinja Zambia.”

Indeed, you have left Zambia better in the three years you have been in-charge and through your works you will forever be present in our lives.

Thank you for all opportunities you availed me but most of all thank you for believing in me regardless of my age.

Go well Mr President, Farewell Ba Kateka!

  1. George Chellah will now fade into obscurity ,its just the nature of the game when the man who made you departs the scene.

    • One of the biggest problems with Sata was that he was a tribalist. His choice of leaders was mostly Bemba and his idea of Muchinga was also along his Tribalistic ways. He also helped muchinga more than other areas where other tribes reside. He has divided Zambia more than any other human being has ever done and it will take a lot of heavy lifting to bring us back together. George Chella was too childish and pompous. I hope he learns some lessons of life through this humbling ordeal.

    • Ka George i know you’re mourning the loss of your job. Stop mentioning age here as long as you are above the age of 18 you are an adult and there is nothing special about getting a job. This death is actually a blessing in disguise as we are saying goodbye to childish presidential press statements.

    • Chella, recall how arrogant you have been in the last three years. Recall the cash you have amassed in this short period. For now let us mourn HE President Sata.

    • George Chellah what is special about your age. Even if you are 34 yrs old you are very OLD. You just sound immature.
It is time you grew-up, get a job as an English Teacher and influence children in more positive way, so you can tell them your wonderful life with Ba Sata. Emmanuel Mwamba is almost finished, he could have better off as high school teacher.
Don’t go back to Mmembe and fight with ZWD.

    • He kept on telling us that the boss was well and working…only to die during a med check…
You and your boss lived a lie…Sata has denied us the chance to see him die with us praying for his soul because of fools like you Chellah..just maybe your age was a factor after all, always thinking short term. RIP Sata, we shall never again tolerate a situation like the one we have lived through these last four months…

  2. Chellah go back to the Post and continue waiting for K3s to amount to your salary.

Sata has not left Zambia better in the three years he have been in-charge-Things are bad George Chellah, life is much harder in Zambia, everything that was affordable in 2011 is now very expensive for the majority of Zambians.

    • One of the best things to have come out of this is the demise of the so called Cartel. Can’t wait to get our Money back from all that owe including Fred MuMmembe and his fellow thwarts.

      MHSRIP

    • Thats is so true. life has become so expensive, loans are hard to access because banks would rather lend to the state then individuals like it used to be in the time of Mwanawasa

    • “A legacy of honesty, personal sacrifice and hardwork” !!!????

      YOU JOKE! Hahahahahah!

      YOU JERK!

Even now he is dead your habit of telling LIES for him continues!

  3. A case of two different worlds. One through the eyes of a beneficiary and the other by stark reality. George people are suffering more than before and clearly you have no idea of this reality.

However, you are right to appreciate the benefits that accrued to you through your uncle.

    • George, we are coming to get our stolen money back from you. Make no mistake, the US$ 5 million you bragged about stealing will never make you happy. Your days as a free man are numbered.

    • Yes we will ask Chella to account for the millions of Dollars he has ‘accrued’ in such a short period of time! 3 years and one can make USD5 million on GRZ salary??

  4. Good tribute George, though it’s out of realization that inchito na ma privileges fyapwa! Anyway, as a professional, you will get another job.

  5. chellah, Chellah, Chellah. Welcome back to reality! I warned you, politics are for politicians. From Hero to Zero. I hope you were in good boots with Guy Scott. Do one last thing for Zambia shutdown the Presidential Facebook Account.

  6. Let me tell you this, George will never be at par with any of you. George is young and has a wealthy of knowledge that you and probably your entire clan will never achieve. George can chose to go to any University in this world, and they will be glad to receive him because he has the memoirs of Sata’s reign. So, if you think George will be useless as you are , you are in for a rude shock. Some of you bloggers are in the diaspora and your best is to look at after the old which the owners of the counry dont want to do.
George was already doing fine before he was appointed as Press aide.
So if you think he is coming down to your level, forget it. he has done it and he is 100 steps away from you useless bloggers.

  7. Is it just me or every comment here appears to be schadenfreude-loaded!? Come on guys be magnanimous in your perceived victory. Don’t hit a man even when you think he is down… but glowing tribute there George. Nice piece of writing I dare say.

    • I think he needs a lecture on the state of the dead, before he goes to any university to lecture as the brother in law has indicated! Talk to us the leaving about MCS, so that we can either agree or disagree, not addressing him, because he can’t hear you; he is on the other side.

  8. CHELLAH YOU ARE JUST A THIEF!! GET OUT.WE WILL SEE HOW SURVIVE NOW THAT YOUR BOSS IS GONE AND REMEMBER JELE IS WAITING FOR YOU.

  9. As the other blogger has seriously observed, some of you are just arm chair critics who are not even in the country. Chella is far much better than you *****s who ashamed of coming back to your own country because of little or no progress that you have made from cleaning those old people. Shame on you and leave Chella alone. Ba F.I.K.A.LA

    • George, you did the best against all adversity. You stood your ground when the masses bullied you and you stayed with President Sata up to the end, Most likely you and Dr. Kaseba are the only people who had access to HE President Micheal Chilufya Sata’s private thoughts.
That’s why I am saying please don’t campaign negatively here, we will not vote for you (We know you). Your intentions are to come and traumatise those you perceive as your enermies.
We are not interested in your vindictiveness. We want to recover from losing a president to soldier on as One Zambia One Nation.
All those smiling through this sorrowful time and leaking your tongues that it is now your time, you will truly be disappointed. MHSRIP!

  10. Just like VJ, most people thought he was finished. VJ was appointed as an Ambassador at a tender e age. That is all he needed and the rest of the story you know it well.
VJ was recently honored at CBU. Just like George, he is not coming down to mediocre thinking but his thinking is beyond bread and butter that is still the biggest issue for bloggers full of hurt.
George, well done. The stint you had at State House is all you needed to launch into your destiny. You are blessed man.

    • George Chellah’ s press statement left much to be desired.I cannot remember a time the we had such mediocrity in state house

  11. is it Just as Zambians who prodes in some ones perceievd shortfall or its human nature, how can you realy in your normal state be happy becouse someone has lost a Job, if we are to go anywhere as youths we should embrace and love one another, if George has lost his Job why shouild somone be happy about it, its very bad, life is diverse some people are above the other so if you are below somone strive to clibe to that level do not strive to bring that person down coz now it will be very difficult for either of you to climb up.
Bloggers please dont sink so low…
To George Chellah…Brother what took you to that level isnt luck, you deserved it god has raised you and you wont fall down, you will actually climb to greater hights. Good tribute to the great man MCS.

  12. Your Ex-wife must be having the last laugh. You dumped her when she needed you most, and you went after women who did not even love you but your ill-gotten loot.Atleast you will have stories to tell your grandchildren.

  13. Cool G.Chellah is jobless!he became big headed and stopped answering our calls.God is for all so welcome back to ordinary life.RIP our beloved president Sata!

  14. Life a great teacher, the more you live the more you learn. George had a bad language when answering opposition leaders.

  15. The worst PA to have graced State House. ..the most immature boy ever…go away and invest in proper studies abroad young silly boy.

  16. It would appear like most people George failed to keep a level head with the privileges that came with his position. Down to earth again he now has opportunity to reflect and be wiser. Or else he will remain an egocentric puffed up grown-up with a laugable sense of misguided entitlement.

  17. That’s why they say ‘lies have short legs and short-lived’. You cannot manufacture any more lies now about your kateka’s demise because if this message of his demise had not been received by Zambians by now, you would have easily said bakateka is fit and strong and jogging on the streets of London.

  18. He was in a world of his own when amongst other things derided those whom he thought were taunting his boss and himself. Others he called comedians while others he simply belittled pointing at his privileged position to scorn his attackers. It takes a truly wise person to keep a cool head in privileged positions.

When George immortalises the graces he perceived to adore in the late, he sincerely believes without a doubt what he assumes. But ask  Shamenda’s, even if, only sane child, out of his many, if he thinks the same of the late Sata if only the fatal insult of ‘F..kwell is the only rememberance he has of George’s ‘virtueous’ hero. Or of the child of Mukanga, no matter how truthful the chipuba assertion was on him if he has any kind memories of the late?

  19. Those of you in EMBASSIES start packing your ka tundu . You left us here mwala tusanga- Lesa ni ma lyotola for sure- see you pa zed

  20. Nubian Princess you are living surely in a fantasy world full of lies. Late Chiluba with very good intentions appointment Chella Katwishi as assistant Press Secretary but Chella Katwishi failed to observe alot of protocols at State House. Being close to your boss or family members does not make you above them.

Therefore before you make such a statement, check your facts right because some of us were at that time having access to such information in 994-1997

George stands a better chance to progress professionally and as an individual. He has shown a level head character. Well done for serving the govt and the nation and for being at the end of the last breath of our beloved president.

  21. They dont despise George, they are dying with envy on how a youngman of his age could be in such a position. George has made it in life.
