Alliance for Democracy and Development leader Charles Milupi is confident that the opposition will win the forthcoming presidential by election.

Mr Milupi said the ruling PF is vulnerable in its current state adding that the opposition will capitalise and win the election.

He said whoever is chosen to contest the by election on the PF ticket will not enjoy the power of incumbency.

Mr Milupi observed that the PF candidate will not enjoy the use of Government resources for their campaigns making it difficult to retain the presidency.

He said the opposition is in a better shape to win the presidential by election which should be held after January 26 2015.

The ADD leader also warned the PF against sneaking into Parliament piecemeal constitutional amendments before the presidential by election.

Mr Milupi observed that Zambia needs wholesome constitutional reforms and not piecemeal amendments.

“The opposition will not allow a situation where the PF comes with piecemeal amendments to Parliament such as removal of a parental clause, we will reject such moves, remember, we have MPs there,” he said.

Mr Milupi said, “The PF does not have two thirds majority, I think they have 82 MPs now, but even those that worked with them in Parliament will now go back to their original parties because they now can see that the PF is very vulnerable.”

  1. Now you are talking….. talk more even use the vuvuzela….. Haleisa Haleisa….

PF please go for the convention. It is very important for democracy…. PF cadres are also waiting to hound Guy Scott from his acting president role. The opposition will thrive on this pending confusion.

  2. Well! It’s a good analysis and hope it’s based on facts and public opinion. There can never be a better opportunity than this one for another party to challenge the presidency, scoop it and bring about the referendum to adopt the new constitution. That will be the party to lead us to prosperity. Which party has the pedigree or the oomph to do it?

  3. There are several reasons why I am happy that Guy Scott is acting President…. And the govt resources are thus under his control at least for the time being…no misuse ( i hope)

There are three factions in the PF and at least 6 candidates vying for PF presidency.

PF cadres are about to begin protests to get Guy Scott out….

Lungu is fighting for dear life to go unopposed… Kambwili is already threatening Lungu.. just look at the pic of him on the red carpet. Quite intimidating 🙂

Then comes GBM, Mulenga Sata, Winter etc…. this is history in the making.

  4. Which opposition you, mulopa are you talking about, has far as the Zambian people know,P F will once again teach the useless opposition’s parties unforgettable lesson come Jan 26.

  5. Well said. we definitely need a real government. The PF experiment was a serious disaster for Zambia. Three years of stagnation. What a waste. These guys had absolutely no know how of how to run government and an economy. We need a serious government that will lead a united Zambia of all tribes and regions. leadership under the PF was made simple. It has never gotten this simple where even former Jerabos, dog sellers etc. have the audacity to think and aspire to lead this great nation. Any Jim and Jake could be appointed to any critical position in government without due consideration of expertise, maturity and track record. This is a new beginning, a real jubilee year. The opposition is therefore advised to unite under one leader and get rid of this mob that has the instruments of power.

    • Dream on. Pipo want continuity of unprecedented infrastructure development that the mighty pf has govern embarked on.
whoever will be chosen under pf withou even wasting a coin on campaign.
Pf will win in January as well as 2016. So leave with or go to hang yourself.

  6. If HH and his UPND do not scoop the presidency this time around, then they are worth the trash can. Otherwise, PF is as good as dead. And so is MMD.

  7. Think of the poor people, sick in hospital, lusaka city , public order act.. Do u honestly wanna PF to continue? Am in UK but still car for Zambia. U must dream better and aspire higher Zambian. Help ur self. Change the party..Follow the American changing young fresh talent Clinton, Bush jr and now Obama. Be smart never mind tribe or colour.

  8. You bloggers writing from outside Zambia are totally out of touch with reality. Its no secret that within 3yrs PF have been in power, they have achieved quite alot.New roads, township roads are being tarred, new universities & hospitals, new districts, new constitution is on the way,all this in just 3yrs!Mulupi must be dreaming….PF will have a very easy race.

    • Tell them brother,up to date UPND supporters still can’t accept the heavy defeat they suffered in 2011general election ,recently they published alot of hopeless comments on jst ended by elections that PF will lose, again we teach them a lesson by penetrating there stronghold,we got the seat from UPND in Zambezi Constituency so for me am jst relaxing waiting for Jan 26 ,it will give you the idea of what 2016 will do the misery on your under5 & that will mark the end of Hakaivotela hamwine eka presidential ambition.

    • @?Dr Dread: Yes, they have achieved quite a lot in three years. However, can they capitalize on that? They are in such disarray, and are still at each other throats, fighting for the presidency. PF are their own worst enemy. It’s PF that is defeating PF. They can’t survive, even if they try to rig.

    • Zambians let’s open our eyes…how did PF pay for the infrastructure you are bragging about? It’s borrowed money. Now we are “paying” for it because most of those projects were not budgeted for. We now have a chance to reverse the PF destruction. Vote wisely Zambians we are too smart for this

    • which development when the country is broke plus sata’s medical, funeral fees. All projects have stalled.open your eyes, not that short sightedness you are pre emptying dunderhead in public!!!

  9. I hope this is a positive turn around for the country. All those members of the family tree posted to foreign missions should be smoked out.

  10. The opposition can only win if they find a common ground and unit as one, otherwise they will simply split the votes and PF will come out victorious and the it will be another year of monkeys ruling Zambia.

  11. Come February,2015 the opposition will cry, like infants craving for their mothers’ milk, that the elections have been rigged in favor of PF and it will life as usual. The opposition in Zambia is selfish and wont field one candidate thereby giving the PF leverage from which to pound them.Look at HH & Dr Mumba,no one is ready to give the other chance and support for the upcoming by election.Only a naive person would think that the opposition will win the upcoming election unless my analysis is faulty.

  12. Again plot 1 is staring HH in the face and it’s his for the taking if he wants it. No Sata to frustrate his well meaning efforts, the congregation of utterly unpresidential PF presidential candidates who nobody wants, this combination is the silver plate on which state house is being dished out to HH. The only sure way to lose this election is for HH to follow exactly his tested formula of campaigning exhaustively in South, West and Northwest and completely ignore North, CB, East, Luapula, Muchinga and Central. I hope he has abandoned this unworkable and failed tactic.

    • It’s all just a matter of perception, I suppose. But our perception is never always correct either. For Bill Clinton, an Obama presidency was the greatest fiery tale of all times. Time proved him wrong. Time may prove you wrong too.

  13. YOU ARE RIGHT SIR. THE PF SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT. THE CURRENT CONSTITUTION SAYS THE WINNER WILL BE A SIMPLE MAJORITY.

IT MEANS EVEN IF THAT WINNER GETS ONLY 23% BUT HE IS THE HIGHEST AMONG THE MANY PARTIES WISHING TO FIELD CANDIDATES, THAT WILL BE THE WINNER.

MR KABIMBA THOUGHT HE WAS BEING CLEVER BY BLOCKING THE REVIEW OF THE CONSTITUTION, BUT IT HAS NOW WORKED AGAINST HIM.

  14. I saw a pf cadre woman carrying a ka bwatoo & put it on Sata’s grave, to symbolise that pf has been buried with Sata. & I was waiting to hear what killed sata, when he got sick in the life history but alas it was a don’t kubeba as usual!

  15. I hate these so called members of upnd who give our party hope and yet there in the dispora licking whitemen is feet.if i tell them about the concern i have about Edgar lungu, they will just respond without consulting what is on the ground back home in zambia.Stop this business of misleading and respect sata because he was a great leader and upnd admirers his political drive. We NEED TO LEARN FROM THIS SON OF AFRICA.

  16. Let’s have the American style Presidential Debates or “Race to plot 1” then we will see who is a better president.

  17. HH has matured and his conduct and comments can attest to that fact. Young, innovative, energetic, very well educated. Hated with passion by some people for apparent no reason, hated by the post for no reason, branded tribal for no reason. I am not Tonga but due to my objectivity in life, HH has my vote. They said the same about the late the the would never rule Zambia. Muzalila

  18. Who in particular in the opposion can win a presidential election? Be specific.
CB, Luapula, Northern and Mchinga know only one party and mwisa.
Please talk about your own party.
Zambians vote for parties and not for the ‘opposion’.

  19. The bitter truth is that there is no opposition. Am not PF but here is the reality:
1.MMD should not be allowed back for one reason-they had a chance to change the world for 20yrs but messed up, especially under Rupiah.Chiluba was an experiment,Levy had direction but Rupiah showed us they have nothing more to offer.
2.UPND was for Zambians under Mazoka, but it’s too regional now!HH does not seem to realise that.
    3.Elias Chipimo is not ready.
    4.The rest are too small.
5.Mr Sata for your information has connected parts of Zambia that were never connected before. This and many projects have excited the rural population(they more than you chaps online by the way). This is key.If you understand Zambian politics you must stop dreaming that your party will win.Strategise for 2016 if you can…

  20. I have always said this and am sayin it again, even at its weakest PF is still stronger than the opposition,HH,Mumba and the rest are all a bunch of comedians, its lyk a muppet show in the opposition

  21. HH has been speaking ever since he was ‘pasted’ as UPND leader after Mazoka through the”ONLY A TONGA” bullcrap. He has failed to sell his party. Edgar Lungu spoke once (yesterday), and a sigh of relief swept through the nation. HH & the rest were instantaneously relegated to the “I wish” bench.
    Deal With It!!

  22. PF reorganize yourselves quickly. Stop squabble and pick one credible person to stand for presidential by-elections. The more time you will waste talking, the more people you will lose in spite whatever good things the late president has done for our country. Do not be power hungry. If you fail to oblige, the spirit of our late president will haunt each one of you for reversing the gear he (Mr. Sata) left this country in. Be sober in whatever you are doing, personal interest aside. Remember, only one person will stand!!!!

  23. It’s your opinion Mr Mulupi PF continuity we gave them 5 years mandate to rule but renewable at 2016 depending on completion of this first term.PF Viva go go HH back to cattle kraal and collect cow dung
