Residents of Shiwang`andu district in Muchinga Province have expressed happiness over the mobile hospital services currently stationed in their area to attend to their health problems.

Speaking on behalf of other residents, Chanda Mulenga, said people of Shiwang`andu always cover long distances to access medical services.

Ms. Mulenga said all residents in the district were grateful for the opportunity that they have been given.

She said this in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Shiwang`andu yesterday.

Meanwhile, Shiwang`andu District Medical Officer (DCMO) Webster Kambinga has urged all residents in the district to visit the mobile hospital stationed at Matumbo rural health centre to have their health problems attended to.

Dr. Kambinga said the people must utilise the mobile hospital as it operates in the district only twice in a year.

He said nearly all health services that include cervical cancer screening, surgical processions and dental checkups among others are being offered at the mobile hospital.

Dr. Kambinga said the mobile hospital, which started operating today, will be open for one week.

He has meanwhile disclosed that the medical office in Shiwang`andu will next week conduct a child health week programme to immunize children under the age of five years.
