Copperbelt gets copies of final draft constitution

Share

GOVERNMENT has commenced the distribution of the final draft Constitution to Zambians with the first batch of 1,000 copies handed over to various Government departments and citizens in Ndola.

Copperbelt Province permanent secretary Howard Sikwela said the draft constitution should be circulated widely for people to read and understand the contents.

He said this on Monday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium during the handover ceremony.

Rev Sikwela said Zambians should be encouraged to cultivate a culture of reading so that they can contribute effectively to the enactment of the Constitution.

“We are simply here to distribute the draft Constitution. The province has received 1,000 copies and we thought it wise to come and distribute them transparently. Of course, these are not enough and we are informed by the Ministry of Justice that they will send more,” he said.

“As you get these copies, please let us ensure that they are given out. Let us not keep them in our office shelves. The whole idea is to give out to the people,” he said.

  1. Hahahahahahahahah……thinking we will VOTE FOR YOU ba PF. Never you are ‘ a half term’ Govt.

    Hahahaha…..You ve made my day.

    • Too late ba PF .you promised as that you will give a new constitution within 90days and you want to insult us now by realizing a draft copy of the constitution when we could have been talking of the actual constitution of Zambia with a running mate close we could have avoided this costly presidential by election.PF you have demonstrated to us that we don’t matter and its time we show you that people have power. On 20th January,2015 .we shall try HH and his team .Mr Banda also failed to give us a constitution, therefore we shall make sure this is the last time you stand .Zambians are not dull.

  2. They aren’t out of power yet if they’ll be soon. Even if they might or might not be out of power in January, it doesn’t mean they have to stop working coz of campaigns. We haven’t stopped living, have we? So let them work, late is better than never.

  3. Dull fools,u were crying for constitution now u have changed.government iz just doing its duties.will vote for pf even withot your ka vote.give to hh

  4. Even in one’s deathbed he can still make a change. If they will be voted out whoever will come in, we will all submit to him but as it is PF is still in power so we still are to be submissive to them it’s a christian requirement and they still have to do their work. So Thumbs up for this action government. Thank you

  5. Ine ni ba HH chabbe.

“No one can fight God”. We need a UNITED ZAMBIA TO CONQUER AFRICA & THE WORLD. SA, Nigeria, Kenya, Libya, Egypt, Ivory Coast & Ghana are the GIANTS OF AFRICA. We want to be in that List.
HH chabbe if mai FAVOURITE ZAMBIAN Eric Silwamba was in Politics I wud support him TOO. I love Eric Silwamba & HH.

    To HELL WITH PF.

  6. Nice work from PF but it too late, last minute works will not influence the masses into voting for them. They had all the three years to do this and failed. Now with less than 90 days left, it is simply wishful thinking. HH will carry on the work thanks for your endeavors!

  7. I foresee a collision government forming this coming year, and to be honest this is what this country needs way forward

  8. Distributing a booklet to people who cannot distinguish words like ‘loose’ & ‘lose’, ‘there’ and ‘their’ when blogging. Our education standards have fallen in our country and it is a real shame.
