HERITAGE Party president Godfrey Miyanda yesterday became the 11th successful candidate to file in his nomination papers for the upcoming 2015 presidential by-election.

General Miyanda filed in his nomination before the election’s returning officer Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda at about 18:00 hours after what seemed to have been a struggle to raise the required 200 supporters.

General Miyanda was scheduled to file in his documents between 15:00 hours and 17:30 hours and while he came on time, some of his supporters came after 17:00 hours and in batches.

After successfully filing in his nomination, General Miyanda told journalists that the party did not struggle to raise supporters but their turning up on time was affected by the rains that had characterized the afternoon.

“We did not struggle to raise the 200 supporters. We worked late last night and verified 480 supporters with valid documentation who were ready to register as supporters,

“It is just that most of our members go to church on Sundays and by the time that were ready to come here, the rains had started,” he said.

Gen Miyanda said he had passion for the country and he had the desire to fight corruption which seemed to have found residence in State House.

  1. Miyanda and his nashala neka party. I wonder what motivates this man to continue standing despite all the odds being against him. I commend his supportive wife though. It would be interesting to see how long she will continue supporting him on these lost causes.

    • He basically just donates nomination money every single time. It’s like he goes to sleep after losing and only wakes up right before the next election. I must agree. His wife is one supportive woman. I couldn’t do it! LOL

    • BA SAULOSI MULEIKAFYE, HOW DO CALLED HERITAGE AS NASHALA NEKA PARTY. IN CASE YOU DONT KNOW MIYANDA IS THE MAN THIS COUNTRY IS MISSING.

  2. Not again! Awake from slumber! General you are back? I must say you are determined, like Sata, to become President of Zambia one day. Good luck but I hope your members don’t get fed up! You only appear at election time.

  3. Ba Miyanda, presidential material but very Lazy soldier, never willing to be bitten by mosquitoes on the campaign trail. Na ka Nawakwi is even more adventurous. All that matters to him is filling, thereafter he becomes more lifeless than the freedom statue.

  4. This is taking the office of president for a joke.Assuming this man wins how does he form government when he ha
s no MP? Can you imagine what would happen if all the pipo that filed in nominations died apart from Muliokela who is the elected unopposed?

    • The election will be postponed in that case. That is according to the law. If one candidate dies, the election is postponed

  5. SPACE-WASTER HAS SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED HIS INTNTIONS, ALSO. THESE NGO PARTIES. BA MIYANDA BALIBE FORESIGHT. BUT HE IS LOADED WITH A LOT OF HINDSIGHT. EVERY TIME BEVE NI, “OH! YABWELA AGAIN TIME YOLANDILA NDALAM FROM NGO SPONSORS, SANGWAPO!”

  6. Unfortunately, Miyanda would make an excellent president. Problem is he simply doesn’t have basic strategy on elections. He seems to be one person who expects Zambians to vote for him regardless. Good luck General!

  7. Miyanda is simply power hungry and will try his luck to get into state house. I wish his family could discourage him from filing in his nomination and save that money. It is clear Miyanda cannot form govt even by fluke. We should raise the bar and stop such lone parties from wasting time. I have nothing against the general just that he is too much of a dreamer and a lazy man who should not be entertained.

  8. Miyanda at long last filed in his nomination papers. Instead of his supporters waiting for him at the High court, Miyanda had to wait for them. I will ask the same question that I asked when Nevers Mumba filed in his nomination papers. Do presidential candidates get paid to stand?

  9. Well done ba Brig. General Miyanda. The fact that none of the bloggers opposing Brig. General Miyanda has come up with credible counter points to oppose what he has to offer speaks volumes.

In terms of vision, Heritage party is head and shoulders above all other parties in the Country. Period. It is the only party offering the next big step. UNIP brought independence that was one big step. MMD brought multiparty democracy, that was another big step.

Heritage Party offers to bring the next logical big step forward i.e. seamless development between our urban and rural areas by embracing our Heritage in a similar manner to what the western developed countries, like here in the UK, have done to get to where they are today.

  10. Wasn’t General Miyanda posting here not so long ago….?!

Ah, he better come back and explain this then, because i honestly don’t understand….

  11. these are people who work hard when its towards pay day…..then they lazy about on regular days instead of keeping the fire burning.
