Acting President Guy Scott says he is impressed with the on-going construction works at Itezhi-Tezhi Hydro Power Station in Central Province.
Dr. Scott said it was encouraging that the works at the Hydro power station were progressing well as most of the works have been done.
He said the power station will be an efficient and modern plant once completed.
Dr. Scott said this when he featured on Itezhi-Tezhi Community Radio Station after touring the Hydro power station with his entourage.
Dr. Scott is accompanied by Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister Christopher Yaluma, Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama, Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa, Central Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta among others.
He assured the workers who are working at the hydro power station that complaints about poor conditions of service will be addressed.
Dr. Scott further said Itezhi-Tezhi district is equally receiving a fair share of developmental projects being undertaken country wide.
He disclosed that Itezhi-Tezhi Secondary School was nearing completion and scheduled to be opened next year.
And Zesco Managing Director Cyprian Chitundu said about 73% of works at the hydro station has been completed and the project is scheduled to be commissioned sometime in October next year.
Meanwhile, Itezhi-Tezhi Member of Parliament Grayford Moonde who also featured on the community radio station said many developmental projects were under construction in the district.
Mr Moonde also said farmers in the district have all been paid the money which were owed to them by Food Reserve Agency(FRA).
And PF Secretary General Davies Chama said the PF government was committed to transforming the country’s economy through the many projects that were being implemented.
He also called for a peaceful election saying youths should not involve themselves in violence during next month’s Presidential polls.
And Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa who is also Commerce Deputy Minister said there is need for the party to unite by putting individual issues aside.
Mr. Sampa has called on all parties contesting the 2015 Presidential elections to base their campaigns on issues that they will do for people than on character assassination.

Just a word of caution to politicians not to tell lies to the voters.
Itezitezi power station and others like Kariba extension were started during the Levy/RB era. They were inherited and continued during PF era. If legacy and vision means copying or inheriting other people’s ideas and hard work and claiming credit without acknowledging them, then we need to redefine the works. In the academia it’s called plagiarism.
