Patriotic Front Central Province chairman Benson Chali has said that Kasama Central member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba decided to support UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema after his wish to be appointed PF vice president under Edgar Lungu was rejected.
Mr Chali said Mr Mwamba’s decision would not affect the party’s campaign for PF president in next month’s presidential campaign.
On Monday, the Kasama lawmaker popularly known as GBM, endorsed the UPND leader for the presidency in the 20 January 2015 presidemital election.
Mr. Chali said although Mr Mwamba’s decision was regrettable, the former Defence minister was not a factor in the campaigns.
He accused Mr. Mwamba of wanting to hold PF president Edgar Lungu hostage.
“It is regrettable but this idea where people want to put conditions before supporting the party is unacceptable and Mr. Mwamba’s departure is as a result of frustration because he wanted Mr. Lungu to appoint him vice president as a condition to supporting him,” said Mr. Chali.
He claimed that GBM had demanded that Mr. Lungu should meet him ahead of the campaigns during which he wanted to put his demands across but the PF Central Committee felt that allowing such a situation would make Mr. Lungu a weak president because of other forces controlling him.
Mr. Chali was optimistic that because of the party’s performance, Mr. Lungu would easily win the January 20 presidential poll with a big margin.
On the recently reported defection of PF members to the newly formed Rainbow party, Mr. Chali said the members defecting were the ones causing confusion in the PF and that their departure was good riddance.

Lungu has been over heard telling his confidants from the East that, he definitely drop, Luo, Sampa, Kambwili, kapata , Sichinga, Chikwanda, Attangas, Guy Scott,and replace them with appointed MMD MPs from the the East once he wins the elections in January.
RB is earmarked for vice presidency after being appointed MP. Henry Banda , RB ‘s son will take over the South African Embassy.
In missions abroad he also going to clean up the family forest and sent mostly those from the East.
Richard Sakala will be appointed Lungu ‘s press assistant.

GBM is not very popular among people in Northern Province. Northern Province will overwhelmigly vote PF regardless. The real battleground in this election is Central Province and that is a fact!
It looks like nobody’s a factor in any political party. Every time someone defects or endorses another party, they are said not to be a factor. Who then is a factor in a party?

Edgar C. Lungu went to auction the country to Nigeria for the Naira. Edgar Lungu should tell the Zambian people the people he went to meet. We should be wary of people dealing with outsiders especially if they cannot disclose the people the are getting money from.

I have asked this question because I have seen postings on Mwamba’s face book posing for pictures with Chitimukulu. Edgar Lungu kneeling before Chitimukulu on the floor and statements like Sata reconciled with Chitimukulu from Emanuel Mwamba.
Some of you PF are already saying he (chitimukulu) is not a factor. Why are these chaps chasing after him if he is not a factor.
